Jimi's dad would leave him to sweep the floor while he was gone and when he got home there was straw all over the place because jimi was standing in front of the mirror acting like he was playing a guitar until there was no more straw left in the broomstick..so his father decided to by him a guitar a little while afterwards...lol
There is a great story on NPR's Morning Edition about the history of this song. Just type in Jimi Hendrix and Linda Keith in the NPR website seach box. I would post the link but youtube won't let me.
Dear LInda, which I say on behalf of all in the wave of Jimi's genius...thank you.
Thank you, Thank You, Thank you for posting this, That is awesome of you mann. There still are good people out there. Yeah and I think he is lightly tapping the strings while fretting chords with the other hand, maybe no or light distortion. The man was a genius... I heard it was his last recording ever. fitting...

kosovoskinhead69,
Jimi continues to amaze me with the universe of music that he created.
I have been listening to his music (activelly) since 1972.
Incredibly I continue to hear brilliant gems.
Although, I have not heard of a song titled crazy horse.
I'll check with a friend I know that has one of the largest Hendrix collections in the world.
And if he has heard of it he will let me know.
Unfortunetelly he lives in England, and myself in the U.S.A.
Peace, Love understanding, and Jimi

I always though this song was about Linda McCartney. Because she told Paul about Jimi and Paul told the guys at Monterey about Jimi.

Jimi's unreleased stuff was so punk sounding I always though and the beggining riff of fire. I was gonna say aneyurism

@anthoneycrunch yo good eye dude.... so true... hendrix was just a raw mofo and that lent itself to such good music styles...

Thanx for this.... very cool!
It was daring in those days to play flat 5 chords. This style was realized fully some 20 yrs later by Kurt Cobain.
Interesting...both from Seattle and lefties.

mpguitar1 3 years ago
He's hitting the body of the guitar, above the pickups. He does it Isle of Wight.
