  • I love your accent:)

  • The job situation will get much worse, Val. The world is beginning to change to a new order of things. You young folks will see changes like those of us of my generation never dreamed of.

Art in general isn't an easy sell today anywhere. But some will survive and I think you're one of them. You have an excellent personality and painting style. Best to you.

  • Dam this made me shed a tear.

  • you are an amazing artist and also amazingly insightful person , you inspire me to go after the things i want so hopefully this helpful nudge of motivation will make me a more creative person cuz latley i feel dull and boring , drawing doesnt excite me like it used to but to be honest ive never really got intouch with my crazy creative spirit that i know is lurking beneath this plain exterior hehehe keep them coming val xo

  • Morning sun shine. I watch u every week. May I ask you a question please.? Can you paint me a suspension bridge in the desert. If you need a picture to visualize this, I can seen ONE. lub you

  • fantastic and hot!

  • im sorry but i didnt understand a single word you said.....but who cares?...you are hot, hot, hot....sexy sexy hot!

    grrrr

    : )

  • love you gurle

  • Oh my GOD !!! hey is that you ?

    I've met this girl

    I dated her on @ DateHerSafe * com/profile?=1176

  • you are a doll, val! i enjoyed this, and thanks for giving so freely.

  • Beautiful painting. Great use of texture and color.

  • less (100% negative energy) news-more paint. = positive energy.

  • The reason why the economy is in dept is because a 12 year old boy named John bought Tennesee and Kentucky because he wanted a sugerglider (And his mom bought it for him). Then John bought all the Twinky (one of the death foods) factories in the world. Soon, his mother ran out of money and put the goverment in dept. So now there are no Twinkys and the Economy is in dept.

Copy and Paste if you think the economy is in dept

  • Ive been watching you for quite a few months and I would just like to say that I have been lifted up by your Broadcasts, Thank you so much, from one artist to another you've been a great help and inspirational.

  • One hundred and thirty second!

  • That painting is absolutley amazing!

  • Off topic but I've walked a tight rope I don't think balance is the hard part I think doing it so high in front of people is though. I did it like three feet off the ground so thats easy compared to however many feet infront of tons of people

  • Why doesn't anyone seem to do anything for the people who have lost their jobs. I have seen people living in RV's or on the street. These are your average people. This is the U.S. and we should care about our fellow citizens! I would like to help people so I wrote a song. Check it out, but I would like to help people who are really in need. We need to start thinking about other people instead of ourselves!

  • I agree. Unfortunately, the people in the higher offices in government care more about themselves than to help people who need it. I guess this country was built on the opportunistic, and capitalist ways. Survival of the fittest. It really is a shame that so many people are struggling.

  • wow that was pretty nice...

i was kinda skeptical when i started to watch this

but your painting came out really good

  • Hi, Val, it seems to me we're also unaware of how much pressure there is on you, too... how you've practiced to make your work seem "effortless"... both here and in your paintings. Like you could never fall... Yes, a balancing act, but one you do so well that you inspire the rest of us to take risks, too, and if we can't do it with a sense of play then what are we doing? Thanks!

  • Nice new work Val:)

  • grEAT message!!!

  • You have a marvelous and refreshing outlook on life. Thank you for lifting my spirits.

  • Beautiful Art! Great show!

  • You did not eat your cookies or drink the milk! you got drunk on WINE!!

YOUR NOT MY FRIEND NOMORE! =[

  • I have been pushed by this recession to rely on my natural talent as employment, for I have been turned away by everybody from art studios to coffee shops, so you could call that Bad Econemy Art, and I am actually greatfull for the push to do what I loven as a living, despite my growing financial concerns. tell you what, I'll make a video about it in the next few weeks, sure to make you smile! VL

  • loved those paintings, great analogy.

  • missed you this week..mikma was here

  • Your stories are just as important as your paintings. Thank you Val.

  • Hi Val,

I think it is important that people believe in who they are and what they have is only a portion of what they represent. Our economy has faced difficult times before and we can learn from our elders of how we survived it. Perhaps we can even do some things different. Regardless, it is important not to lose one's spirit because that is what matters right now. Great video, Val and keep it happening!

  • You have such an understanding mind. :)

  • Isn't dat Val rather pompeous sometimes,

    even little? :)

  • you're so sweet

  • You are lovely to watch.

    very creative. very inspiring.

    you are a sweetheart

  • yo!

  • A lot of things not working out lately :(

  • Rocks!

  • fair analogy....i think if some (modern society of consumer people) would try to calm down down,,,get back to basics...stop worrying about having to have 2 SUV's a pool, and designer clothes, then maybe we can stop, look around, and hold out a hand to our neighbor once again. ....the way it used to be, when i was a child. in other words, be human again. by the way, pretty colors.

  • That is a giant wine glass

  • cool painting! i really like the story of how you came about creating this painting too. Keep up the good work

  • Nice painting. I would like to see you create more figurative art.

  • Great art ;=?)

  • I really like your painting and your speech was very helpful to me so for that i thank you.

  • Val, you're right . It's a very tough world out there right now and it's not easy to pick yourself up and keep going, but that's what everyone has to try to do. Hopefully, things will get better and there will be a brighter day on the horizon.

  • I retired early so someone else could have my job. I don't make half as much money but I get buy and now someone else gets by. I hope this helped the economy.

  • good for you. sounds like you know what really matters in life.

  • I'm having a wonderful time but my wife still works. She is a good teacher and enjoys it. I was burnt out and now I am becoming a full time pirate - something I enjoy (acting).

  • Querida,

  • Am I allowed to say, "you're hot" without being labeled a sexist pig? You make me appreciate the Arts like never before!

  • ...fantastic, Val!

  • i love your style

  • I just got "d'art" lottery.... lol... yeah, I have been subscribed to you for like a year and just now got that XD

  • haha... awhh so cute!

  • I love your photos! Come visit Assie!

  • Oops, lost my 1st comment, anyway terrific painting they just get better. Also, I just noticed for the first time, you kiss your balloons before releasing them in the intro. How charming.

  • I feel left out. I work Sundays and can't get in on the live chats :( I love your art. Dave

  • Love your dancers. True line. The artist/performer falls all the time as they struggle against the limit. It is part of 'the process'. This gives us sweet texture. It may be different for those who define themselves with a credit line.

  • val can you check and see if iam in your list pleassse thank you:)oh and do you have any good names for a boy rat.iam going to buy one a petco soon please give ideas and check that:)

  • yes, I can relate. I have a tightrope picture from a few years ago~ it's different today, yet I feel the same. No matter the circumstance, one needs to have an anchor, or balance pole, if you will.

  • I love this painting, love the dancer figures!

  • How are you able to afford a living? That summer job sounds like a student job you had. And the economy is only going to get worse, probably particularly in this era, it won't be just a bust state were in. What is the future going to be stored for us. Maybe a new currency? Maybe something else.

  • I enjoy how you can put yourself out in your art and also in words. It should be a sin to be so darn cute! :D Godspeed!

  • :) this me agreeing with you.

  • Good! I don't have to give you a prate eye then ;)

  • Ah, the tightrope of life.

  • val yer paintings are always amazing.

    you have inspired me.

  • I was gonna post a vid a bout this choreography I am doing... but I am afraid is too early...

  • OK, it's now a few hours later... so it's not "too early" any more, right? Val, we're all walking the tightrope with you... unfortunately it's you everyone's watching and will notice if you stay balanced or take a fall. As for us, we all get to fall in secret. Kinda. "If a tree falls in a forest and there's no one to hear..."? Love you!

  • I love your painting this week! Great Job!

  • love your vids val.. yes middile of the week please???

  • That's another beautiful painting Val, and I think it's a very apt analogy. I've been doing my own little balancing act the last couple of weeks. It's especially hard for people who do freelance work at this time.

  • love the art work val!!!! color, texture, comp and all!

  • excelent video

  • Ooooh, Val winkied at me :-)

I want a surprise from Val

  • Great piece, i want it.

  • WoW you were a Hooter girl? did I hear that right? Hey what is that art work in the background w/ the little girl? How much do you want for it?

  • gottta pick your self back up every time you fall =)

  • lol, dude behind you was laughing. lol.

  • Hi Val,

You have been a great inspiration to me. I am new at making YouTube videos and am teaching a technical subject -- but there is still some creativity :) It is important to use imagination even if you are building a database ... I have a comment about you, your work, and the way you look at life on my channel... thank you, Val!

    Warm Regards,

    Crystal * (: have an awesome day :) *

  • i no both my parents were laid off before and it was shattering for them but at least we had each other to support them through :) i really loved your paintings this time their my fav ones :)

  • Maybe we will begin to focus more on what is most important in life and rebuild an economy at the service of all rather than one based on unsustainable consumerism. . . . oh...and I love your painting once again!

  • Hi Val, i keep missing your live show but sure ill see it sometime. Love the figures in the painting, Great vid. ツ

  • yeah.. a girlfriend gave them to me on Vday!

  • ah val is luckee. I dont have money to buy canvas.

  • ramble much? ahhh i see no more Wine.. ;P

  • this is a beautiful picture, even in the life dance on a wire and I would like this thread lead to a woman like you and then dancing together, dancing are a delicate subject for me because 'I have never danced with a woman

  • On the tightrope of life, val, you look to your soul for inspiration, and you connect with me and many others...life mission accomplished?Don't you wonder sometimes?

  • Val, where do I check to see if I won the facebook lottery ?

  • Wow, just...wow.

  • Fall down seven; Get up eight (Japanese Proverb).

This painting was nice as you kept repainting different segments that were already beautifully painted to yet another beautiful painting.

  • Hey Val very great vid i understand what you getting at Xo

  • This is my favorite[:

  • Tell that plant to get up off the chair and do some work.

  • Dear Valentina, I like this episode sooooo much, thank you!!!!!!!! Cheers!!!! x x ssmmiillee :-)

  • Your place looks organized..... not like the usual artist.

  • Awesome painting. I want to buy one soon!!!

  • Title made me chuckle. Nice video this week.

  • :o*

  • OK, OK! I agree...

    Awesome painting Val!

  • your videos are always so kewl. :)

  • Wonderful paintings! I love the colors!Yeah, the economy really sucks. A friend of mine who is a printer was laid off last September and he hasn't been able to find a new job yet. My sister-in-law worked at Verizon for 40 years and she's being laid off in March. Fortunately for her, she can take early retirement, but she's worried still because she has a lot of bills. Seems like more and more people are being laid off everyday. It's terrible. :(

  • do u need a friend

  • never seen art reflect economics but this is really cool way of doing it, better then watching the news.

  • I'm probably the *ONLY* one who never made the connection between throwing darts and calling it the d'Art lottery. Honestly, I never put those two things together until just now. I simply thought the French appearance was more artistic...wow...

  • I lost my job a week before Christmas.... I feel like a loser being unemployed but there aren't really any jobs here. It looks like I might have to move to find one......

  • Aww, poor gymnast, she tried her best I'm sure, but at least she persevered and that's what counts in life.

Your place seems full of sunshine, it must have been a great day. We only had like 4 hours of sunshine on Friday and that was it :( Oh and forgive my poor memory but it seems like so long ago since you wore a beret, always good to see you wear one, it adds a touch of panache :P

    Have a nice Sunday :)

  • What a nice expression. We may feel alone when we fail but we're really not.

  • Absolutely amazing paintings.

  • This reminds me of the acrobat painting but in a different way. I really like this one--great music too.

  • My 55 collegues and me got fired last week on Friday the 13th because the company I was working for that to shut down due to the financial crises. I've been with the company for 4,5 years now. So I can highly connect to what you say in this weeks video, especially in these days... Thank you.

  • I love your reflection on the current times and how you turned it into such a beautiful peace. Balance? It's a question I have been trying to tackle for quite some time now. Life really is a balancing act, hopefully we can stay on the rope more than we fall off it.

  • What was your last remark about the wine? Your painting is a very good annalogy of today's work environment-some fall-some stand, but we are all susceptible.

  • I got fired from a summer job once, well technically i quit maybe, it was a race between me and them :))

  • I can't wait for live chat =] and yeah its bad to see so many people getting fired from their jobs

  • wow, that wasy amazing paint, just love it!

amm did i won the lottery? amm no, not yet

  • Yip, life is like a walking on a tight rope... you never know when you are going to fall, but it's when you get up from that fall when you show your true strength!

Great vid and nice texture on the painting! Happy Sunday!

  • Beautiful painting! ...Sometimes you have to fall to learn a better way! So embrace the fall and move on!

  • love you val!!! Thank you for your videos.

  • 3 day job lol, what did you do to get fired so quickly.

  • Nobody loves you when you're down and out.

  • You certainly are a very talented young lady Val...Great job...5*....I like your tam too! :)

  • SO TRUE!!
