  • Ha Mario the same guy who cut my hair

  • 1:12 LEAVE IT LIKE THAT HAHAHA

  • that same guy with the hat cut my hair .lmao. I know the civies who cut the hair at the PX have been there forever too.

  • 1:20 i would have just left it like that hahha

  • what do they when a recruit has dandruff, do they get discharged?

  • @EmbraceTheParlaeEra I dont think they would do anything because dandruff isn't harmful, but if it was like lice or something else then its a different story

  • that is definately the same guy that cut my hair when i reported there

  • @McCollum2009 Me too 4 years ago.

  • Ok, I have a question on the haircuts. A friend of mine believes that the haircut was designed so service men would lose their indivuality and start considering themselves as a unit. I heard from my drill sergeant that before the haircut head lice was a problem so they just decided to shave everybody's head and be done with it. Who's right?

  • @darkwulf23 as far as i know ive heard that both of those theories are true at least that what my Drill Instructors told me durring recieving.

  • @darkwulf23 you mean Drill Instructor? the first reason is right, probably the second is too, and it also makes sure the gas mask fits properly

  • @OhMshBb I'm army. So it's drill sergeant for me

  • @darkwulf23 The original ORIGINAL beginnings of the military hair cut was started by the romans so the enemy couldn't grab their head, pull it back, and slit their throats.

  • @RepublicanNatio Actually I knew that. I found that out of a places on tvtropes. In its own way it's just as informational as wikipedia

  • oh yeah this is recieving oh the memories of the scariest haircut of my life actually are not that bad thinking about it all later

  • who cuts there hair before they go lol pussies

  • @FIDsmoggydrizzle Not realy, they trying to save a buck. Never works though. The drill sergeants (instructors for marines) just chewed the guy out and still made him go through it.

  • Thats his name!! you got it! and I am stationed at Miramar right now, I just saw him cutting there 3 days ago!!! hahaha

  • I swear that is the same guy that cut my hair when I reported to MCRD San Diego in december 1992. I think his name is joe.

  • all civilians on any military bases think they're hardasses

  • @001Maverick001 Yea but it helps their case that most of them retired from the service before they decided to work on a military instulation.

  • Not only do you get your haircut here but they take out your brain and take common sense from you.

  • Sum good clippers

  • they werent that soft on our heads. we bleed

  • That dude cut my hair like 10 years ago. I hated that asshole. Those haircuts are a lot rougher than the video shows. I always love having my haircut and look forward to it. For my time at boot camp I hated it. I saw people come out bleeding.

  • That dude cut my hair like 10 years ago. I hated that asshole.

  • i already have a buzzed haircut, and i plan on being a marine next year. should i just let it grow a little before i go cuz my dad was in the navy and said the guys that shaved their head before bootcamp got the clippers shoved into their head really hard

  • @KyUuTiP yea, i leave monday. Keep the hair, the buzz is a rite of passage and one of your first steps to changing over.

  • @KyUuTiP yeah it's their job no matte what to run that buzzer across your head, whether theres hair there or not, So you might as well atleast have a thin layer of hair than no hair.

  • Just curious, what do they do if a recruit is already bald? There are some people who go bald in there in there twenties.

  • @FinalLugiaGuardian You don't EVER want to go to MCRD already bald lol

  • @thenacanoroc Just to be clear, I mean if someone got bad genes and went bald naturally at an early age, not shaved it before. In other words, the fact you have no hair already was out of your control. What do they tell you then?

  • @FinalLugiaGuardian If your genes were that bad to begin with, chances are they wouldn't let you in. I was in the Marines a while ago though, and their requirements change faster than the wind blows, so I don't know what their enlistment polices are presently.

  • @MrILLMINDED Why what?

  • @thenacanoroc why?

  • @thenacanoroc How come?

  • @thenacanoroc im curious now.... what happens? xD

  • @imacookieSF you die

  • Those are some nice clippers..

  • You better get your hair cut medium short before you go in Boot Camp, if you have really long hair, they might mess with you and leave a bit on at the back of your head xD

  • @laurensmalter my hairs about 24 inches long and im shipping out in febuary haha damn!!

  • @laurensmalter Has to be a real dick to pull something like that consitering that the drill instructors or drill sergeants would ride the recruits ass for that.

  • There suppose to act tough so they can scare you thats what my cousin said

  • too short for me

  • Oh poor soldiers! (although it seems the long-haired recruit enjoyed his shave).

  • just a little off the top

  • Total fucking looser & I hope he reads this. Acting like a tough guy because he gives a haircut to tough guys. Not good enough !!!

  • My recruiter says these guys are losers, they're cutting hair while these recruits are training to be Marines

  • Great haircut video. Question----having never had a haircut shorter than a standard flattop, can any YouTube viewers (especially those who may have previously experienced the same as shown in this video) tell me what it feels like to have a clipper quickly peel all that hair off. How fast is it and how short is the clippers? Could the clippers get even closer? Does it hurt or feel different while clipper shearing? Are most guys nervous to watch it happen right before they get their heads buzzed?

  • @PAFlattop No it doesn't hurt. All you feel is the cold hard metal, hear the buzzing and feel small hair get all over your face. Sometimes a clammy hand then you are done. Nervous?? Of course, you are at MCRD and they want you so fucked up confused and spooked that you do what you can to minimize attention to yourself.

Whats kind of funny is if you stupid enough to get a Marine cut out in the world, it pisses you off if the barber gets aggressive with you. LOL

  • that dude is still workin there? probably w/ those other two old italian dudes that dont do shit

  • How often do they get haircuts?

  • LOL imagine if that barber left that recruit's hair how it was at 1:12 and he went to boot camp like that!!!

  • @PRR4000 lol fucking mullet extreme rite there.

  • LOL imagine if the barber left that guy's hair how it was at 1:12!

  • We didn't get our haricuts until our 3rd day or even our uniforms. But I went to AF boot.

  • what would happen if i already go bald?

  • @altoids79762

Nothing, fucking do it, caust it sucks having that hair all over you for like 2 days with no sleep.

  • @shorttimer09 lol i cut my hair once and i dint shower for a week lol idk this was long time ago and it wasnt hard

  • @altoids79762

Word, I had relatively short hair so it made them into these little spines, between that, when you're life is shit, any little thing can make it worse.

  • i think its funny how we are all marines yet the only thing yall are bitching about from the entire 13 weeks that we were there was how mean the barbers were lol i personally thought the drill instructors were bigger bullies then the barbers. so quit complaining. we signed the papers knowing how it was gonna be. suck it up!! haha

  • @hankjr14

Shut the fuck up, bitching/reminessing is the ultimate marine pasttime, unless you're a pogue, in which case its probably exaggerating and bragging.

  • thefall, are you talking about that black guy?? he called us recruits even during marine week, what an idiot

  • @Skateenjoi0351 yes! him ughhhh thinking about him gives me headaches

  • @Skateenjoi0351

The big black dude who does the admin, I remember him being pretty chillaxed.

  • That faggot cut my hair too, lol, why was every damn barber there italian anyways?

  • he may be a prick but at least he's a Yankee fan.

  • @extrememan123 thats the oly kind of yankee fan

  • you do not have to say sir to them....they are shit..

  • @darrylhaynes when you are a recruit at boot camp, you have to say "yes sir", "no sir" to everybody, it doesnt matter if they are Marines or civilians.

  • Does anyone remember that guy from the warehouse at MCRD SD in charge of getting our boots and cammies?? talk about the biggest asshole on the face of the earth. Trying to act like DI. Fucking prick

  • Yes, the greatest assholes are the two civilians working at the uniform warehouse. I was lucky that one of the Marines who works there knows me so she and the other Marines treated me with respect, while my fellow recruits were treated like shit.

  • HAHa i agree so much this dude was a douche all 2 months he cut my hair.. for all you that are gonna say wernt you there 3 months... yes but in camp pendelton it was somemean bitch and riped my god damn head open lol

  • I think that was the guy who cut my hair. He has always been an ass. I went back when I was in 29 palms and he was not as cool as he thought he was.

  • The blonde female barber during second phase at pendleton was worse.

  • @ballngm hahaha my head still hurts from her cutting my hair

  • wow....the female barberette looks as tough as her male colleague and i love the speed the clippers are being run over the heads, i have alot to learn !....

  • Anyone who wants to become a Marine, there is a web site linked on my profile page.

It goes to a FUTURE MARINE WEB SITE that you may want to read through.

  • well, there goes his long curly hair

it almost looked like it came off like a wig

  • Can't wait to be a skinhead. USMC for life!

  • @nUaSvAy i think you mean a leatherneck. skinheads are white supremacists

  • MCRD Marine Corps Recruit Depot.

  • Thats the same guy that cut my hair after stepping off the bus at MCRD Parris Island on a cold night in February 17, 2004.

  • OOH-RAH Marine

  • omfg!!that guy in the blue hat! thats the same guy who shaved my head too! wow!

  • where can i get that barber machine

  • DAMN!!!! That guy is still there?!?!? He was there back in 95. That dude and another guy were assholes... He had a big ass gold chain back then. ahhh, i remember it like it was yesterday.

  • wow, your stupid

  • they also used young boys for pleasure....guess they left that out the history book eh ??? lol

  • lol salvester stalone

  • @JoeyD12345678

Yeah thats the recieving barber, he also works at the Recruit Barber shop.....he was a dick hole to us all the time.

  • whys he such a dick to recruits its not like he joined.

  • I have no idea, I was told by a former Drill Instructor that its part of boot camp. Everyone treats you like crap to keep your spirits down, since boot camp was just a big mind fuck.

  • you're absolutley corrrect. The entire atmosphere is made that way. It helps the new recruit get used to being yelled at, keeping their mind clear in a stressful situation. It's called "manufactured stress" If you can't handle people yelling at you, how can you possibly ever handle being in a combat situation when the shit has hit the fan and bullets are flying? It's definitley not for everybody, They break you down as an individual and then build you up to be part of a team.

  • @loveremovalmachine

Yea that was what the former DI had told me, cause everyone else was wondering why all the Civilians and Navy Med staff were such a-holes to us.

Yeah in my platoon we had 2 guys drop for mental stress in the first week, a few more later on in the cycle. It defeintly sucked, but not really that bad looking back on it.

  • They do treat you like Crap but its all about Training and Discipline. In House (Squad Bay) your Senior along with your Green Belts will put pain in your Body and teach you Marine Corps Values when you're outside doing your Daily Schedule with your Series or at times the entire Company you want to Show your Platoon Off and you want to make your Senior DI proud aka look good because that show that their Training you is paying off and when you do that Senior will take care of you and motivated you

  • he kinda sound like rambo

  • Wow that dude is still there.. he didnt cut my hair but remember him. They must do pretty good in one night because back in 94 we each had to give $5 for the cut. What are they charging now?

  • Their only like 4 something

  • holy shit this Italian fucker still their

  • the barber sucks. he is like in every marine haircut video.

  • The barbers their are ruthless, anyone remember the bull dyke up at edson range?

  • I don't know if it was the same guy, but when I got my hair cut at Edson Range, I was unintentionally slouching in the chair and the fat barber coped an attitude. I wanted to tell him to fuck off but I knew I'd get killed for it.

  • That guy cutting hair has been at MCRD forever!!

hes the one that cut my hair, shit hurt!

watch the recruits face as he cuts his hair

    lol

  • Him and all the old guys couldn't cut hair for shit! i remember they left a buddy of mine with like a Mohawk when it came time to get our high and tides in 3rd phase!

  • Damn, years worth of hair...

gone in less than 2 minutes.

    Semper Fi!

  • i agree with that other guy. the same guy cut my hair. i wont forget him cause he was such an ass hole and he wasnt even a drill instructor

  • He tries to come off as some northeastern italian tough guy but he's really just a jerk. I mean, he's a total loser. How much talent does it take to shave a recruit's head? If you can mow a lawn, you can put clippers up to a scared 19 year old kid's head and peel him like onion in 25 seconds.

And you're right. He wasn't even a DI. Screw him!

  • @WilliamRowlett It's to add on to the stress, dont expect any nice people so you can pussyfoot around. "We don't promise you a rose garden.".

  • @mhzUSMC I went to Marine Military Academy which wasn't EXACTLY the same but very similar in the 70's. Our barbers on the first day weren't the friendliest people either. I've been around long enough to know about the "shock value" of your first few hours in MCRD and the reason for it. Still, this guy could do the haircut without being friendly and without trying to act like some "DI wannabe". He acts more like some sadistic prison guard welcoming you to Auschwitz.

  • @WilliamRowlett It is part of his job to do that even though he is a civilian.

  • @WilliamRowlett This was an act. they get told to act tough. the bootcamp is pretty much trying to give u a nervous breakdown in every direction.

  • @gogorat1318 Of course it's an act! A USMC DI is, by definition, one of the world's best actors. And the barbers "act" like tough guys. But that silly barber probably never served in Vietnam or Iraq so he has no bidness acting that way. He can easily say, like the barbers did when I got a military haircut, "Next!"

  • @WilliamRowlett I thought the corps used to cut recruits hair in-house. Now, it appears as though they have contracted some civilian barber to do that work.

  • I remember a guy saying: "Get the fuck outta mah chair". I was like: "Who the fuck are you, ya punkass loser". Lol Lol.

  • @MrStupidAtheist yeah but you didnt say that otherwise the real DI's would have been on your ass.

  • @extrememan123 Oh hell no. I would've never said that out loud Hehehe, I said that to myself. Lol Lol.

  • @SirWilliam50 Ahah, he was an asshole. I hated him.

  • @SirWilliam50 this guy also did mine, but was nice cause I was wearing my yankee's jersey

  • Thanks for video...

I could watch USMC recruit training videos all day.Amazing.. How do you guys with authentic (unstaged) videos get them? Our 17 yr old son is @ Parris Island right now... thank you again & God bless

  • I joined the maries

  • no u didnt u cant even spell it right...?

  • the maries?! oh my god yer badass!!!

  • GAHH, brings back memories man.... seems like yesterday, i remember just about everything

  • err. i remember that shit. that italian fucker has been there for years. he gave me my first high and tight. right before the crucible i believe.

  • lol. i remember this. same guy cut my hair. we were awake for like 2 days straight during receiving.

  • The army was made two months earlier than the marine corps, and who cares where you went for basic it is the same.

  • Ha ha! That Barber was there when I was there. He saw I had a Dallas Cowboys shirton and Said he was a Buffalo fan and was really going to enjoy shaving my head!

  • paris island def. didn't have it this nice. there was about sixty of us crammed in the corner of a room that size... and we def. weren't smiling

  • damn those are some slow ass barbers. not like at paris island.

  • Yeah no shit. Mine was gone in 20 seconds.

  • that's THE HEADSHAVE,

no doub, no exitation, only clipper on the skin and a stream of hair falling down

  • That guys been there forever man.

  • Can I take it that he's telling them to get out because they showed up with their hair already cut?

  • Yeah

  • yup

  • alright coo

so i can wear it when i

haul ass on the freeway =D

  • You aren't allowed to wear the MARPAT cammies off base.

  • aww why in the hell not?

how come army guys can wear their

    combat uniform anywhere and not

    the marines?

  • I don't know why the army can and marines cannot. The best answer I can come up with is MARPAT is not a leave and liberty uniform.

  • fuck that sucks ass but oh well

  • The answer is easy. The Marines don't disrespect the uniform by wearing battle dress into public unless on duty. The Marine dress uniforms are for public wear both on and off duty.

That is why Marines are Marines.

    A-ain't

    R-ready

    M-Marines

    Y-yet

  • hell ya! you see fucking soldiers walking around with their uniforms in public. Hell, it could be a sunday and their just picking up some damn mcdonalds and they'll be in uniform

  • Are you saying Army is week? That branch is stronger in number and was the first branch made. Marines are trained more elite, but Army has everything to back them up.

  • Everything except one thing and that is fixed wing aircraft. The Army relies on the Air Force for jet fighter support while the USMC does not. The USMC has its own jet fighters. The USMC is the ONLY branch that can travel as a unit while being completely combat ready. That is what makes the USMC, the USMC.

  • Quantity vs Quality. I'll take quality.

  • Lol, if you're not in the Marine corps. You understand NOTHING.

  • Comment removed

  • Hey. If you were to compare a Infantry Marine and a Infantry soldier, they both have equal values. BUT, if you were to compare Marine POG and Army POG the Marine would win. Marines and Army have VERY similar Infantry. But the Army is more equipped. Good luck with the Marines.

  • more equipped in what ways

  • Research, than you tell me.

  • @Videos4USArmy no they dont Marine grunts are more trained and can survive in any type of environment but the Army are treated worse and some soldiers are even used as bait while the Marine grunts are just placed in the frontlines with shittier equipment

  • do u guys know if when u graduate

    bootcamp if u take ur

    combat uniform home with you?

    for ur 2 weeks off

or do u just take those that

cloths that u wear on graduation?

  • dude obviously u take ur uniforms home with u, their ur uniforms! lol

  • Comment removed

  • oh the fun memories

  • do these guys shower that night

    becuz of the haircut?

or do they go to sleep with all those hairs on them?

  • We hit the sack at about 10 I believe, and up at 5.

This is the first day of bootcamp, they dont shower or sleep for 3 days.

  • No shower that night. No sleep either. You're up from 4:00 that morning at MEPS, you get to PI after dark, and you're up until 9:00 or 10:00 the next night doing in processing, shots, dental, uniforms etc.

  • damn so u go to sleep with the pokey hairs from the haircut?

  • That's right, I am a smart ass. Thanks for the props! This dude doesn't wear a uniform. He may have never even served. He has no right to act like a dick to them. They're going to get their asses kicked for the next 12 weeks. 3 minutes of not getting treated like shit by a barber aint gonna make a difference over the course of 12 weeks. BTW, as a graduate of both boot camp, and later OCS, I know the how military indoc programs work. And the barber being a dick was a joke to me.

  • which ocs were u sir? i wanna be an officer terribly and i wanna know how it goes down. like its been my dream to be one since i was young, im a pfc in the marines, can u also help me find ways to become an officer?

  • Lol, there are no "sirs" on youtube, but I appreciate the respect the Marines show. You guys are a cut above the rest. I'm Navy. Do you have your college degree? That's the first step. Make sure you're a high performer, and apply with the help of your Education Service Officer.

  • lol will sir im a marine 24/7 and i will respect those who r appointed above me(not to sound motivated lol) um... no sir i dont have a college degree, is that the only way? would it be hard for me to use my GI bill or is it to early for me? will it help if i do some MCIs? thank u sir

  • You can't get commissioned unless you have your degree. The Navy has a program called "Seaman to Admiral" that sends enlisted men to college to get their degree, and then commissions them. Great program. I'm sure the Corp has something similar. All branches offer some sort of enlisted commissioning program. You really need to speak to your Education Services Officer, or the O's in your platoon for mentorship. It's never too early to use the GI Bill.

  • The barber is being a dick. If he doesn't like shaving heads all day, go back to school and get a better job. It's his chance to act like a bad ass, because under any other circumstances, he's just a barber. Maybe he'll run into one of these guys on the street after they're bad ass marines and he'll get his.

  • i thought they wouldve been nicer since they were civilians but then i realized if my job was just shaving heads all day id probably be a prick too.

i was just happy that my d.i.'s werent yelling at me and i got to sit down.
