What it is about Big Black that makes even their most obscure stuff, the stuff that for any other band would be rightfully forgotten, so fucking good? I mean, I know Albini hates Lungs, but I still think it's fucking great, even compared to his later stuff. Certainly better than what I was making in the same situation. Pure talent, that's all it is.
@Thewonkandfriends While I think Lungs is lightyears ahead of 99.7% of material recorded in the 80's I do think it is weaker than the other stuff from Big Black. That's just my opinion though, not an examination of yours.
