Vargs vocals are pretty damn unique compared to other "Black Metal" vocals as they are natural and not forced sounding (as to fit in the genre itself). I like Mayhem, Emperor, Darkthrone, and the older stuff, but I cannot stand newer Black Metal because the vocals are all monotone screeching devoid of feeling.

This albums version is far better, the atmosphere of this album is much more refined, as well as the slight difference in timing and composition.

I believe in emphasizing the conventional "low quality" sound that is most common with second generation Scandinavian black metal is a great standard for how black metal is rated as having the best set of distortion,vocals,tone of percussion.

Mayhem,Early Darkthrone and Burzum are by far the greatest examples the sound that I'm implying
