@mjbab73 no chance ,he who writes the songs is the talent! and joe's pen or pencil did not feature in too many of the eagles tunes, life in the slow lane,!he was probably too busy drowning a bottle of liquor!!,and fighting with every one over a guitar riff!!, but those days are well gone now.!! except for felder look what happened to him.out, we don't need you either, long live the Eagles.
@bobbyd612 Yes, Joe didn't write much with The Eagles, but he did help them break from the constant country-lite sound. He in his solo career before and after, and also with The James Gang wrote many GREAT songs...Most of them completely timeless which I don't believe you could say about this song nor any other efforts by Eagles members accept for maybe Henley, and I'm being generous saying that because Don's music was simply hooks and chorus...Formulated. Low blow on Joe's alcoholism, eh?
@mjbab73 Lets start again,! J W the only real talent in the Eagles?Bands become great,I my opinion, because of the strenght of the songwriters, and for me, thats were the talent lies, guitarists are penny a dozen ,.This song of T.B.S is below par,he even had to take songwriting lessons to bring him up to scratch, and believe it or not , but simple hooks and choruses are what make great songs..and the longevity of musicians careers.by the way , I do not strike low blows ,i just see it like it was.
@bobbyd612 Songwriting can make a band great, however musicianship accounts for a great deal of it IMO. Ie; The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Phish...A good, identifiable guitarist is NOT a "penny a dozen"; George Harrison, Jimmy Page, Trey Anastatio are/were NOT replaceable. Joe is considered a great guitarist and his identifiable sound can he heard. Again, solo and w/James Gang he wrote and played timeless music. The Eagles started as a session band backing up Linda Rondstat. Joe's sound helped
@mjbab73 Yes,Joe's sound helped, but as im tryin to say ,was not the ''ONLY REAL TALENT'' in the Eagles. No songs,no record deal and no gigs, no matter how good, is your style.By the way, I'm talkin' about the Eagles here, not The J G. J W is not ''considered'' a great guitarist ,but ''is '' a great guitarist, with great charisma and humour in my opnion,,but one man's guitar cannot hold a band together!!!!
hey 88mroux, yes it was on his longplayer from 1987 called Timophy B. It's a awesome record. produced by dick rudolph, co-produces by genious Bruce Gaitsch
You can tell from the girls in the video it was really low budget. And it's loaded with gay overtones(eyes at 1:10 and all the high fives and male bonding). But it's a great tune, and the video is entertaining just the same.
@DeepSouthWrestling1 Good example--if you really study it there are lots of other examples, but , like I said, it's a good song and the video is pretty laughable, but in a good way, mostly!
@PEDROCLASSIC If it were a radio song I wouldn't care, but it's a video, and to hire actors who don't know piddly about the game they're supposed to be playing shows poor planing. The singer and song are excellent. The video is amatureish.
@bucky468 I sing in many bars. I've never seen ANYONE not too drunk to stand up who can't remember which ball the solid white is, These actors have never shot pool.
@AngelAndTheWolf Dude chill. It's just a video. Maybe they lost the cue ball. Perhaps the vid was shot in a studio looking like a bar & they didn't have a cue ball. Ever hear of the word improvision?
@AngelAndTheWolf It was the 80's - the era of bad videos - move on & get over it! I've seen far worse videos than this one. "Physical" by Olivia Newton-John, "Hyperactive" by Thomas Dolby, "No Way Out" by Jefferson Starship & "Everybody Have Fun Tonight" by Wang Chung are the most blaring examples. How about all those 80's hair metal videos?! Those were pretty bad - huh?!
I came here for timothy only.Eagles already rocked way before timothy, yet I stick around as fan cuz of him:)

Why is this album and song not at iTunes yet?

To me this video is so bad that it is good. The high fives are epic and that late eighties mullet is just too much.

Say does anyone have the full album version of this song that was played on AOR back in the day? This is NOT the full album version of the song.
