Emily is performing this piece fast because it was a competition and there was a time limit. How do I know this? Because I am her aunt, and I am extremely proud of her. Even you people who keep complaining about hitting the wrong notes would have to agree that doing a piece as difficult as this with a time limit is pretty darn amazing.
Beautiful voice, Emily, please let it grow and nurture it. Don't sing music that is too big for your stage of development, you can really damage your voice that way. Young voices pushed too much can lose their bloom and their colour and end up with a wide vibrato by the time they are in their mid-20s. So sing lieder, artsong, folk songs, stay clear of operatic work until you're a few years older, at least 23.
This is such a difficult piece!!! I totally agree with you! I was still filled with joy to hear this performance. I wonder how long she had to work in it. When I first heard it I imagined that the recording (the one on TV) had many edits in order to get it accurate so I was very surprised to see that someone had actually done a life performance.
love it.

the advert version is completely synthesized, i don't think this has been arranged for a real singer yet (apart from this, obv)

The advert version is actualy recorded by the Tasmaian Symphony Orchestra and Ola Rudner as Soprano.
I don't think elena likes the synthesizer, but i could be wrong.

Completely agree. Every now and then on the lower notes. She hits the higher notes beautifully, but sometimes she seems a little off when she's low.
