  • This song makes me feel like i am a Jazz Detective :3

  • ive heard that piano bit repeated in some other song and it's driving me crazy trying to remember it.

  • @autobot69000 Maybe this song in the movie Angel Eyes w/ Jennifer Lopez & Jim Caviezel

  • classic! i can listen to this tune over and over again :)

  • "Merlot Music"...

  • OK, there's that anti-Obama crazy right-wing Solyndra commercial again. Can you please remove commercials or request that one to be removed. I've disliked this track and am liking another that is commercial free.

  • PURE CLASS....................

  • Think Nicolay sampled the piano piece and didnt credit John coltrane & duke ellington. On 'connected- Raw Life', the intro of the song sounds identical to this one. Take a listen

  • 8 people are deaf

  • Wow!

  • My mom brought me here, she said she used to play this song after she fed me when I was a baby until I fell asleep, and now I love it considering I practically grew up on Jazz anyway :D

  • oh i luv this song it just makes me want to sit by the fire while its raining with a nice cup of coco while its raining

  • My cousin Alex just said

"Man, this is so relaxing, it's like getting a massage for the ears."

    Well said, my friend.

  • Logic sent me here

  • @airforcepilot8282 me too :)

  • This piece is very unusual. It evokes a sadness in a gentle rebuke as it is a tale of regret. Nostalgia for something you've always wished for yet never get.

  • it goes like this: Its midnight, you walk into a bar, you see the most beautiful women youve ever seen, and you 2 dance and tear up the dance floor until the sun rises

  • I think 3:00 is definitely my favorite part ...

  • 8 people can't and never will get with a woman.....or a man!!

  • The Cosby Show brought me here!!

  • thank you for being so strong.

  • i used to play the sax. this song makes me mad at my younger self for quitting

  • Cool baby, just cool.

  • what a lot of you kids don't realize is that i made jazz...and i want it back...NOW!!!!!

  • reminds me of all night foryays with lesbian poop faces big time shop benders back in youchdon

  • mesenamora el arma..!

  • ;D

  • maybe the best intro of all time, reminds me of that lounge scene from star wars.

  • wonderful

  • Thanks for sharing

  • I love this song and I am starting to love the jazz genre more and more each day!! I am 22 years old and most people my age can't appreciate this music! I listen to Mr. Coltrane, Mr. Duke Ellington, along with David Brubeck and others, and think man my grandparents were lucky to have this type of music in their day. Its just pure genius!

  • @YungTonyTV Regarding music, they weren't as lucky as our generation. Back then, you had to have money, brains and a little luck to listen to this. Now we just need a little brain to search it in a sea full of garbage. And keep in mind that some grandparents had the balls to support music that was young, unacknowledged at that time, so it might be our duty to do the same.

  • @YungTonyTV It's just going to get better for you. To quote from the liner notes on "Kind of Blue:" If you're gonna go to heaven, might as well go first class all the way. Enjoy.

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!! First heard it in the early 80's on the Cosby Show.

  • Ahhhhh....just heard this for the first time..REALLY.......Sit back, relax, ENJOY! OOOOOOH so nice!

  • I knew about the duke, I just found trane, This is amazing.

  • love.

  • This is my favorite song of all time...

Duke on piano, Coltrane on sax, Aaron Bell on bass, Elvin Jones on drums.

  • I just want to slow dance to this.

  • My favorite jazz song ever!!!

  • @sw147 Doesn't it just summarize "Jazz" in a nutshell?

  • this song honestly gives me chills as i listen to it.

  • Ellington and Coltrane: now there's a pairing that should never have worked but it did, brilliantly. Pure genius. A perfect piece of music.

  • What vision, man oh man

  • I think Coltrane would shit a brick if he know over 230,000 people had listened to him play this one song.

  • Seven people have hearing problems !!!!

  • This song is sexy, nuff said.

  • 7 people are idiots, simple as that.

  • DAMN! I FREAKIN LOVE JAZZ!

  • <3 ...

  • How can someone dislike this compilation of raw emotion? @andredidiergijon I agree; yes rid us of that dislike button.

  • To the seven people who disliked this, you SUCK! This is where all of the music of today came from!

  • @SnoopyStewart77 your right. most of this tune is just a Pentatonic scale. which is the most common scale in rock and modern music. its probably the only scale that those metal head idiots who disliked this video know.

  • 7 people have never been in a sentimental mood

  • Duke Ellington is my hero.

  • Who the hell could possibly dislike this?

  • @CAPITANheathenheart I don't know, ....seriously, it beggars belief, ......but I wouldn't trust em.

  • Its 3:08 a.m. est and I'm up late listening to this song once again. Its sound is so soulful and pure it sends chills down my spine while listening to it once more. True Music needs to go back to its roots...go back to Jazz. <3

  • @TheMoviefan78 im sorry but the root of music is probably Neanderthal men hitting rocks together and shouting

  • my ALL TIME favorite Jazz song .....

  • @NinaSimoneDC MINE TOO!!! Absolutely love this!

  • Jazz is a universal sound, all other music takes from this. Hip-Hop, Rock, Pop in someway each piece takes from this music. This goes back to a time where people actually played instruments and played them well. I found Jazz back in highschool, one night just listening to its sweet soulful sound almost every night on the radio as I fell asleep in my bed. Even now in college I find myself slowly coming back to the music that has filled my heart with joy <3

  • beautiful

  • Very nice! I heard it on the radio this evening.

  • 4 people think lil wayne is good.

  • 4 people have never been in the mood. 4 people never appreciated or valued what they have in life.

  • This is a remarkable song. Screw the 4 people who dont like it.

  • "Hey Nina, do you mind if I play something for you?"

  • @CHARLESHARDIN96

wow exactly the same but her name was jamie!

  • Oh, what a beautiful piece. Love everything about it.

  • The first time I heard this classic was on the Cosby Show when Cliff and Claire were being romantic.

  • 4 people aren't feeling sentimental....

  • well i remember the first time i heard this song and had no clue who it was by when it was made or anything like that all i knew was the song was being played on one of my all time favorite tv show "The Cosby Show" while Cliff was feeding Claire Huxtable and they used "NO WORDS" i love watching them two and no better song they couldve used...I was thinking to myself "Will I ever find out who song that is" and i did....I love it!

  • A man ahead of his time who defined Jazz as an expression of organized chaos...like the human mind, always in chaos as defined by the organize presence of its soul.

  • I remember the night when me and my friends drank whisky to this song, in a lonely apartment where the only light in the room was a small candle, sitting on the table.

    Ahhh memories...

  • this song always reminds me jazz understands you perfectly thanks coltrane ellington and davis for making us fall inlove with jazz

  • @MrJazzman839 Haha, what did you mean to say

  • Aaah The "Sultry Sounds" of this piece is so gratifying!!! I feel like I'm on an Island with my I-Pod, my Bestie and the beautiful blue sea, just staring at me . I'm layed back on a hamock with a Virgin Pina-colada... and the man of my dreams comes and ......

  • this song always bring me to tears...love this song, there are no words to explain how amazing these two greats are, wow...

  • 4 people were TOO sentimental to function while listening to this song

  • A person has to really be in tune with his or her own heart an soul to understand this song or jazz period.

  • @honey2759 thats not fair

  • @honey2759 different ppl feel different things...when i hear this its like they had divine creativity...its not quite birth not quite death but everything in between

  • This is an immediate reminder of a woman I danced, kissed and loved to this song, who I still think about a lot. I'm not even mad though.

  • 4 people are retarded for disliking this song

  • this is my favorite song of all time

  • i wish i could cut the piano part out and sample it. the song in its entirety is beautiful tho, but damn i wish i could just take JUST the piano part from this... and make the most beautiful sampled track of my life

  • WORDS JUST CAN'T .......MMMMM

  • People writing their own music and playing their own instruments! ZOMG!

  • can't believe four people don't like it :|

  • Lush. If only music of today held such depth and passion of yester year. Beautiful in ever way, and to the gimp who keeps talking about hendrix, yes he was a magic but this is a whole new vibe you egg. Get with it.

  • I agree with you in part, but there is lots and lots of music written today with depth heart and soul. You just have to really dig through a lot of shit until you find it, making it all the better when you do find music like this that makes you stop dead in your tracks. Never really got Hendrix, I have tried just dosen't agree with me.

  • @listers66 True; you have a point there, but still to me having an appreciation for music from all different walks of life is the key.Be open minded an research who you follow.

  • like borris vian was saying: the only things that matter in life is falling in love with beautiful girls and the music of duke ellington....

  • @TheDicamillo Then go and listen to him until you grow up and realize that there are other genres, including other ones that even HE liked. Dipshit....
