The best thing about Death Cab is that they aren't just 'performers' like most pop stars these days, instead they are true musicians who love their craft. They passion and talent bleeds out from them when they play live (I've seen them twice). I got goosebumps both times I saw them play and I'm getting them now just thinking about it. They represent Washington well.
my grandfather designed the bixby canyon bridge. i was there yesterday with all of my friends and they put this song on. It was an amazing experience.
thank you death cab, for making such an amazing song :)
These guys are a band, and they are art. The fact that anyone has heard of them is a miracle within itself. Reminds me of U2 and Radiohead, and a few others. Hold the torch high for those of us bastards that must play, Margarita ville, and Brown eyed girl.
The story of this song is really what makes it special to me... The general theme is that Ben Gibbard went on a small pilgrimage following the footsteps of Jack Kerouac. The goal of the pilgrimage is to gain enlightenment ala Buddhism via the same path that Jack Kerouac gained his enlightenment. When Ben got to the final step of his pilgrimage and stood under the Bixby Canyon Bridge he was disappointed to find that he gained no enlightenment from it. Moral of the story=follow your own path.
What I love about DCFC is they sound the same live as they do on the studio album. I cannot say that about many bands. Also, DCFC is true to their roots. They arent about going big and mainstream, they are in it for the music. I cannot wait until their next album.

@AFaceHead Never seen one before. And it's used much cleaner in the album version. Meaning that it must be difficult to use, because Ben/DC4C are very good at nailing live performances.
There's nothing better than listening to a song that makes you think of the person you love. Check out my song "Diane" if you're in love and never want it to end. Send it to your boyfriend, girlfriend, or even your friends. It's the first video on my youtube channel. Enjoy!
their music is so interesting. the strange melodies and the way each guitarist compliments each others' notes is simply beautiful. then jason on set is amazing and gives the perfect element to each song. bass lines are also brilliant. best band ever.
@thmsrojo the video for "i will posses your heart" has a pretty good shot of his board, the only other things i can make out though are a boss reverb pedal (probably an rv-5) and some boss dd-3 delays
@LoneLawMan dude but come on you can do better than me was horrible. definitely not death cab. narrow stairs has grown on me but its nothing like transatlanticism, plans, the photo album, or we have the facts.
lol, in the beginning theyre all waddling their heads to that guitar sound, looks like theyre on an acid trip :P by the way, i like how they are like rockin out and jammin hard in this song... i like their simple laid back yet artistic sound... but heck, every musician wants to jam out like a rock star at some point... :P
