The show was not cancelled. It was intended to last only as long as it did. From Stella's Wikipedia article:

"In 2005, [Comedy Central] commissioned ten half-hour episodes from the group, as the television series Stella."

Couldn't agree with you more. I've downloaded all the episodes they have on iTunes. Pretty much know most of them by heart at this point. These guys are really a gift to comedy. Comedy Central totally underpromoted the show when it originally aired. Even though I was a fan of the guys, I somehow missed it. But I am so glad I discovered it know. Stella is pure joy. They created something truly special, magical even.
