@hugobear1 Obviously it is not for all to get. Like not everyone gets GOODFELLAS Or The Jersey Shore. This movie is just a look into black life at that time. It shows a loving couple who are TRULY in love and use that love to give them strength to keep on. This is shown in the scene where they dance embrace then he pushes her away and she has an orgasm standing by the window. That is true love. Just the thought or atempt at making love makes you have an orgasm.
@hugobear1 I also grew up in the time frame that this movie waqs made and it is about THE BLACK EXPERIENCE! All the different characters you deal with in a day, positive and negative. Kids who have nothing but still having the time of their lives.( the three kids on a bike and the playing in dirt scene) I think this movie was made to catch the essence of the time period and be compared to other times at alater date and that makes it timeless. Sorry you didnt get it but I embrace it like family!!
I've just rented it...bar a few striking images I'm afraid I didn't get it....these people have an awful life but do we need a film to confirm it?
