The version shown on Amazon is the new "Home Tablet". This is the original "Internet Tablet". It does not run the Android OS.

lol every one is confusing this with the android tablets... understandable when you search archos 7 you get "7 imt" "7 home" and the new "7o".

this tablet was made in 2008 so it does not use android. instead you can install flash 9 games and apps opera widgets. it has a 160 or 320 drive and about 7hr of battery life.

it has a "Resistive touchscreen" its not bad but its different from whats on you iphone

the Archos 7 IMT is no longer shown one there web site.

right, you can of course easily "hack" it to have full access to marketplace and then install a proper browser and killer apps such as rockplayer

Well after watching many review i found out that archos is crap and slow (i also got to play with one and can agree) so ill just wait till the iPad gets facetime that way i can facetime myself with my iPhone 4.

this ones is mainly for ebook reading, multi format media player and web surfing.

ipad focuses more on games and 3rd party apps, I don't own 1 but I think it doesn't have playback capability for Flac, Ogg, Mkv, etc. out of the box though I may be wrong, also Ipad has multitouch screen. and yes, it costs more (way more)

I'm afraid not. Unless Archos chooses to update it in a firmware release, it is limited to Flash 9 Lite.

@dutchy131 no my first day i had it it crashed, does not support flash 10, touch screen sucks(sticks to your fingers) many songs wont play on it because they want you to buy the software to be able to play it, harddrive sucks, no support from archos... i could go on all day. get itouch or dell mini.

I'm not sure if I completely understand your question, however the Archos 7 does have good touch response.  Granted, it is a resistive touchscreen.

The web-TV application can only view free internet channels, not local channels. There is a good selection, but I doubt one will find very many well-known TV shows/movies playing.
