That seems lame to have it just screaming like that and have hardly any perceivable thrust to show for it.

An electric version with a brushless motor and a lithium-polymer battery pack might be slightly better. But my guess is that it would be nearly as loud and ineffective as this version because the ducted fan design is just plain loud and inefficient.

Actually if the power jet pack they are wearing allows them to go distances to like work and home the fossil fuel used would be much less than a car so it does help the envirnoment. Not to mention the thrust exerted on the wearers body makes the wearer use back muscles to sit up straight so they still would get a work out and I bet that thing is not light either.
