Apple doesn't want to be on stage with jobs because they want to attack the Informatic Business World by the inside of it. It's just a marketing technique.
my gad i,m stupefied want explained by your proper opinion for previous end mac wordl ?? around 201 nations in the wordl & others only the simple suppositon intelliegence mean
I think apple is cutting costs in more areas than this in order to lower the prices of their products. This might be the case because of how people often complain about how macs are overpriced.
true..... phill is not very smooth at keynotes... he tends to sweat and strugle for words... lol...... but once again all i wish is for Steve Jobs to get healthier
Actually, I don't think that that any of us "fans" are really in any kind of position to be saying who should be running Apple or making keynotes. I don't think we're qualified. The only thing I know about the people at Apple is the "appearance" of them at the various keynotes. It takes much more than that to be qualified to run a company like Apple. I suppose that for keynotes they need someone with "showmanship", other than that I don't know.
I don't think Macworld is over at all. You don't pay hundreds for a ticket and thousands to fly there for an hour long Stevenote. You go because of all the cool shit there. They might lose a few people, but it will still be a huge event for years to come.
As you say Adrian, nobody can carry out a keynote like Steve Jobs, he is the man we have all come to expect to present the keynotes. I also agree with you about Ive doing it rather than Phil. Awesome video Adrian mate as usual an excellent perspective on the Mac World Expo end.
An example of the problem of No expo from apple is as they are so damn secretive - do I buy an imac from chrismas or do I wait to "sometime next year" when they possibly release a touch screen Imac (a massive iphone)
DRBUK - I think your spot on with the cost of doing these presentations. Honda have pulled out of doing the F1 and Suzuki out of rally racing - The American Automotive industry has been told to strim their costs down to get their requested bail out money - All of this just shows big business need to strim the fat from their operations.
The potential hazard I can see is that Apple are so damn secretive that it will be hard to find out what they are planning and when to buy and apple product.
This is a good point; if people keep waiting for the next big thing, then when will they put their money on the counter?
At the risk of dragging up an age old argument, I think this is a good motivation for apple to improve the modularity and expandability of their lower end products, so that customers who may wish to use them for a long time can be confident that they are buying something that is "future-feature-proof", for want of a better term.
Rob its a pain in the arse isnt it! i was in the same position last xmas if is should by a macbook pro in december - then they released the figure jesture and upgrade in April! Bastards! lol
Personally I think they'll replace the mini with something else rather than update it.
The iMac and Pro desktop lines have their respective professional niches, from which they won't be expelled, while the Minidoesn't really have that kind of entrenched market.
I think its more likely that they would replace it, either with something targetted at a more specific demographic, or with a wider appeal to desktop users to strengthen its position during the coming recession.
The lack of an Apple presence at Macworld is all about money. But, I don't think it will matter. Apple is continuing to grow and they are continuing to make better products: despite what gamers think. They've put in a bunch of cool new patents and they are about to release snow leopard which will reenergize their OS, which is already better than Vista or 7. Apple is healthy, which was Steve Job's job...maybe he can finally rest before it's his time.
What kind of computer do you use. Because I bet you that you use an OEM from a manufacturer that wants to install OS X on their machines. Apple makes great stuff. If your poor ass can't afford one, then who cares? I don't. And no one here values your opinion. Go play xbox.
Oh a gamer doesn't like Apple? Surprising. You'll spend thousands of dollars to play games, but, you hate Apple: computers that are great for video editing, music creation, art, journalism, photos, office work. Who the fuck cares what game you use. Go get a fucking xbox and shut the fuck up!
ok dude calm done i was messing around with put the apple computers in walmart. and no i dont spend thousands of dollars on games. I only play games like COD4, COD5, and gears 2. Ok and third I do have a xbox 360 you applefanboy ok damn look at you get a life dude! repling to everyones comment lol what a apple fag
to be honest, I was a little disappointed to learn about all of this, but mostly because I'm a fairly new Mac user and would have liked to see the keynotes continue (I've only been following Apple for the last couple years)... at the same time, though, I'm looking forward to seeing how this turns out. like you said, I think Schiller would do the best job from a business perspective, while Jonny would do a much better job presentation-wise. I guess we'll see what happens in '09. :/
I think part of the reason that they're making the move to Phil is to show that Apple has a deep bullpen. Since the whole Steve Jobs' health scare went down I think they want to reassure fans and shareholders that if something were to happen to Steve there would be plenty of people to take his place. Great video, keep it up!
I have a feeling Steve Jobs's health is playing a factor in them ending MacWorld. After Steve Jobs, Johnathan Ive would be the next best person to do these presentations. Schiller is a genius but doesn't have the charisma of the other two. But Schiller should take over the company when Jobs leaves.
I can remember you were saying that you would like to go to a WWDC or a macworld in the future, looks like apples decided that one for you. :) p.s. i had to watch this video from your profile page and then go directly to the all comments page, because every time i go to this video directly and only this video safari crashes any ideas.
so sad :( I do understand it though. As apple said on their website, they don't NEED events like this anymore. I will miss it and it is one of those things that made them "different."
yea i think ive would b better

You can take it that way if you want. But the whole "fanboy" comment connotes that someone likes something that sucks but is blind to see that.
