  • This is a great version. It's a demo and i first heard it on a bootleg album of Iggys called american nightmare.

  • I have added this cover version to my FB group dedicated to covers. It's called "The Guilty Pleasure of the Cover Version" feel free to join in.

  • high quality version of this song: /watch?v=nSZLKis_xd4

  • the original is genius, this is genius. iggy may not be as virtuoso as sly but they're long lost siblings. talk about ebony an ivory, man!

  • Thank you. Didn't even know this was out there.

  • Iggy dared to cover this tune. I think it was a pretty gutsy move, but I expect nothing less of Iggy.

  • @jeffdeanable Yeah, very gutsy, respect to the man for it but Sly sings it better (sorry Iggy). The guitar in this version is amazing though

  • @acousticmanland I pick Sly, too.

  • @acousticmanland thats STEVE JONES of the SEX PISTOLS !

  • the guitarist is Steve Jones from the Sex Pistols

  • @PyneappleExpress Really? I just discovered this cover, it's pretty cool. I really like Steve Jones, in general. There's a lot of his solo stuff I don't know, but he & Iggy are cool, as far as I can tell. I know Steve's work a bit on Iggy's Instinct album. Cold Metal is alright.

  • @jeffdeanable yeah Steve is a great guitarist, Family Affair is one of the demos they made together for blah blah blah in '85. all the demo songs they made are great. You should listen to the Beside You demo it's much better than the actual release

  • @PyneappleExpress Thanks, will do so after my Apocalypse Now fix. Cheers!

  • james was born yesterday near iggy the legend lol..

  • GREAT !

  • iggy's version cant compare to sly and the family stone's at all

  • Iggy and James, what a couple !!!

  • Sly rules..like this version ,cool. a bit like hanks ala saturday nite cafe dean martin

  • My god, i can't believe i found this on youtube. I bought 'nuggets' (a tape casette!) years ago and i haven't heard it in ages! It's just the best cover of anything ever made :D woop wooop woop :D

  • I love this cover!!! Who is the girl singing with Iggy? Her voice sounds great with his!!!

  • Esta canción te balancea¡¡¡

  • where could i get this? it's iggy's 'nuggets' album he made with steve jones 1988.

    JUST CAN'T FIND IT!

    plzplz: where???

  • itunes.

  • Iggy is one of my all time heroes, but this song cannot be improved upon. This is such a personal Sly song.

  • this is great. This iggy cover has gotten me into sly.

  • i love Chyntia

  • It's an interesting version, but not anything to add to Sly Stones original. I do like Iggy but no-one can redo the family stone's work.

  • Iggy channeling Bing Crosby crooning Sly.

    Very nice indeed!

  • IgGy does it.

    The chicks voice is cool,

  • great version, sounds so eerie and dark this version... Make you think about really dark 'family affairs'!

  • Wow, never heard this before. I LOVE it!!! Quick to DL this onto the IPOD. Great tune!!!

  • This has always been my favourite iggy track! Phenomenal

  • Thanks for posting this. Great cover, never heard of it. I was going to ask from which of Iggy's albums this song comes, I saw your answer about the compilation Nuggets (1999). Is it a compilation of what? Isn't this song on any of Iggy's albums? Is Nuggets an Iggy compilation/greatest hits? I'd be grateful if you could clarify it for me.

  • Nuggets is a compilation but not a hit compilation. Rare or unreleased tracks, covers and some more familiar Iggy/Stooges tunes (=versions of them) that just didn't make it onto an album. Some great tracks but not all of them. But it's still Iggy..

  • Iggy has a way of making it very creepy sounding, doesn't he?

  • @JohnCerveza The original's pretty creepy as it is

  • @acousticmanland Yeah, a groove and a downer at the same time.

  • anyone know what album/compilation i can get this on?

  • Yep - it's on Nuggets (1999).

  • top man, cheers. great cover of a great song

  • @l1ttleboyshort5 if memory serves me correctly it was also on AMERICAN CAESAR by IGGY POP

  • Hey, vive la difference.
