Their steaks Suck ! Save your $ My last two experiences were horrible. Tried it again today 5-05-11 and my steaks are 10X better and a helluva lot less expensive.
Plain and simple... The Big Texan is really just The Big Tourist Trap.
I ate there once traveling through to New Mexico. Food wasn't that great at all, and it was overpriced. Cuts of steak were low quality, potato wasn't even cooked all the way. The Big Texan is just a tourist trap to get bypassers to come blow some money on a mediocre lunch, cheesy games, and garbage merchandise.
I feel like there are much better Steak Houses, that I should have ate at instead.
GREAT FOOD!! Really a great resturant to dine at. The steaks are the best! ! It is a tourist trap.but it's worth going to!! go in look around buy a few post cards,look at the LIVE RATTLE snakes.

I just got back to Florida from "The BiG Texan Steak House" Went there to try the 72 oncer but found out you have to ALSO EAT SHRIMP with the meal and I don't do 'Surf n' Turf' .... However, the Prime Rib was EXCELLANT!

My son actually tried the 72 ouncer... he got about 44 ounces of it. I think it was more for the experience and his "going away" party than the challenge of conquering the steak. Oh, BTW, don't be so descriptive with your comments or they might not make the cut. hahahahaha

I ordered the 24 oz SO CALLED RIB EYE.
They don't serve rib eye there, it's Sirloin. Toughest MEAT I have ever attempted to eat, stiff. I spit out 1/2 of it.
Don't fall for the FAKE HYPE, I can get a better steak at ANY local grocery store.

I tried it last year (June) and ate 58oz and gave up not wanting to make myself sick for the next few days on my Road Trip along Route 66 but .....
I intend going back in June this year to try it again which considering I'm from Sheffield, England is a bit of a trek!
