@ronaldv525 It's not on a CD. This maybe one of the songs they recorded for Gene Simmons back in the 70's. I've always heard they've had a master recording of 30 or 40 songs that they borrowed form thru the years.....peace+love2all......

Please guys stop arguing I love Van Halen also. But I'm afraid I wasn't born untill years later the original line up was split up.Yet I wuld hate that this video was taken out cause of your discusion. The truth is(to me)that there is always a bigger fish. I wuld say that my self c in my country almost no one knew VH when I was like 14 but then I knew a guy who let me stoned of how much he knew of them.So please if you love Van Halen then I thankfully apreciate if you don't agrue please.
actually that Yellow and Black stripped guitar wasn't built until after the recording of VHII. It only shows up in the Album Liners and tour because that's when it was finished...
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
No, nimrod the Yellow and Black Guitar wasn't finished until after the recording of VHII. It was one of the guitars on Tour for it but never actually played in the studio... And yes it is burried with Dime Bag Darrell, who is a shit guitarist.
He played the white with black stripes for the album, same as VH1. But I don't agree with the Dimebag comment, I didn't like their music but he was pretty good.
you dont know shit fag. im from dallas and i knew dime when they played at a dive called joe's garage in ft. worth in the 80's and he worshipped eddy van halen so fuck you and go fuck your momma and sister simple peasant! dime was an exceptional guitarist. phil on the other hand was a closet fag with limited talent!
I see you're using you big vocabulary words... I wouldn't want to tax your mental capabilities too much so I'll keep my rebuttal short and use only a fifth grade level of vocabulary: Worshiping doesn't mean you are Eddie Van Halen... And Dimebag still cannot even compare to Van Halen or other greats like Satch, Gilbert, Malmsteen or Batio..
Have a nice day my mentally inferior and vocabulary challenged opponent.
I kind of have to agree with TheAnarchistPrince here. Dime Bag was just a good guitarist. FAR from some GREAT guitarist. He was a dime a dozen kind of player (nothing wrong with that) but it is true. He was good. You can even say VERY good but not a pimple on the ass of the great EVH. Not even close. Vai, Satriani, Gilbert. Those guys are AWESOME/AMAZING players and even THEY can't compare to the genius of EVH. EVH is a once in a lifetime musician. Dime Bag was just another good guitar player.
Dime's abilities and innovations with pinch harmonics and the fact that during the 90's he created some of rock's most memorable riffs put him in a special class. You're right he was no EVH but he was far from a dime a dozen, one of the greats forever and you keep that uneducated opinion of yours, R.I.P. Dime
Hell, Dime's buried with the black and yellow gtr from the 2nd VH lp cover. Ed put it their himself along with a bunch of bottles of Crown Royal put there by his friends at his wake.
Eddie gave his ORIGINAL YELLOW AND BLACK to Dime, you know what he said?He said:Dime was original and only an original deserves the original.
A few months before he was shot he jammed one on one with Eddie, that's how they met, so he was a lot more than just fame.
And what if Dime wasn't as talented as 80's masters; he bursted into the 90s to bring life back into music, to tear his axe apart every single night in an age when people prefered to lisent to pompous bimbos who cannot play a note.
Yeah, that's a good point. It really sucks that some idiot shot and killed him. What a complete and utter waste. So senseless. The world of rock lost a great guitarist and over what? Some fucking lunatic? Ridiculous! Dime should still be rockin' but at least his music will live on. RIP Dimebag. The world of rock isn't the same. Now, on a different note, it is time for the great Eddie Van Halen to release some NEW MUSIC!! Come on! We're READY!!
I might be wrong: it was a news article I read. Eddie was mentioned as being drunk as well and being really rude to Zakk, who also attended. Infact, I read this on KNAC. It's a great metal channel, check it out. I think the old article is still there on the internet.
I believve there is only one frankie strat. It started out white and black and then he painted red over it. He still has it. The blue and yellow guitar is what is burried with dime. Eddie said the blue and yellow always had problems and didn't sound real good, but dime told him it was his favorite.
Agreed: Page, Angus Young...when they play you know who is playing--or ripping them off. EVH was the same, Vai too. It's the genius of the instrument. If God created a better instrument than the guitar, he kept it for himself, IMO.
Please guys stop arguing I love Van Halen also. But I'm afraid I wasn't born untill years later the original line up was split up.Yet I wuld hate that this video was taken out cause of your discusion. The truth is(to me)that there is always a bigger fish. I wuld say that my self c in my country almost no one knew VH when I was like 14 but then I knew a guy who let me stoned of how much he knew of them.So please if you love Van Halen then I thankfully apreciate if you don't agrue please.
totally stupid. I bought 1984 when i came out mf. I know what Im talking about....you, another one that claims you even know what the cover of VH@ looks like, JUST LOOKS LIKE FUCKIN IDIOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
I think the boys should go back into the studio in 2009 and record all these songs for a new album. Most would be better than any of the crap coming out these days!
5150EVH5150- you are the GREATEST member of Youtube! Your vids bring back such great memories and I just wanted to say publicly that your contributions here have not gone unnoticed and I for one am extremely grateful! ROCK ON DUDE!
Wow you got some photos I've never seen on this clip!! Where can you get these photos? Though this is a great song, I doubt it will make the new record (that's if there is a new album?) I think this version of VH would rather put all new material on an album.
At 00:43 you see the Black and Yellow VH2 Charvel. From the picture it looks like he got this guitar on the first tour (standard trem with back neck painted black). I also want a pair of Ed's "W"sneakers...they're badass old skool!
Love this song. I dont know that there will be a record. But the way Dave said "this isnt a reunion, it is a new band", makes me think that they have more future plans, and most people will want to see some new songs so i think that they will release a new record if they really are back together for good. I also agree that it may not be till 09-11 before a record comes out because it does take time to record songs just perfectly. Unless they recorded before the tour, it will take time to record.
The description of this song says it could make it to the new record in 2008. I haven't heard any rumors yet. wondering if whoever posted this song knows anything?
Well, they're still gonna tour until maybe summer 2008. Then they're gonna take a well deserved break for about 2 months or so. Then they'll have to get more material, then recording it would take atleast 4 months (considering DLR's vocal capabilites). Believe me, I want another VH record more then anybody, but when you really break it down theres no way. =VH= forever!
This IS such a BADASS SONG!!!!!!!!!!

You say your mistake was a "typo" wrong, you cant even admit you are wrong. your comments are null and void as for being a true fan.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
No, nimrod the Yellow and Black Guitar wasn't finished until after the recording of VHII. It was one of the guitars on Tour for it but never actually played in the studio... And yes it is burried with Dime Bag Darrell, who is a shit guitarist.
TheAnarchistPrince 3 years ago
He played the white with black stripes for the album, same as VH1. But I don't agree with the Dimebag comment, I didn't like their music but he was pretty good.
g99se9 3 years ago
go fuck yourself man dime bag darrel is just as good as any guitarist

you dont know shit fag. im from dallas and i knew dime when they played at a dive called joe's garage in ft. worth in the 80's and he worshipped eddy van halen so fuck you and go fuck your momma and sister simple peasant! dime was an exceptional guitarist. phil on the other hand was a closet fag with limited talent!

Dime Bag was just another good guitar player.
dajzilla 3 years ago
Dime's abilities and innovations with pinch harmonics and the fact that during the 90's he created some of rock's most memorable riffs put him in a special class. You're right he was no EVH but he was far from a dime a dozen, one of the greats forever and you keep that uneducated opinion of yours, R.I.P. Dime
ZenithJones2 3 years ago 2
Hell, Dime's buried with the black and yellow gtr from the 2nd VH lp cover. Ed put it their himself along with a bunch of bottles of Crown Royal put there by his friends at his wake.
michaels2boys 3 years ago 2
Eddie gave his ORIGINAL YELLOW AND BLACK to Dime, you know what he said?He said:Dime was original and only an original deserves the original.
A few months before he was shot he jammed one on one with Eddie, that's how they met, so he was a lot more than just fame.
And what if Dime wasn't as talented as 80's masters; he bursted into the 90s to bring life back into music, to tear his axe apart every single night in an age when people prefered to lisent to pompous bimbos who cannot play a note.
BurnRoddy 2 years ago 3
Dime may have only been a "good" guitar player, but when you hear Dime you know it's Dime. And there is always something to be said about that.
jklinecarguy 2 years ago
Yeah, that's a good point. It really sucks that some idiot shot and killed him. What a complete and utter waste. So senseless. The world of rock lost a great guitarist and over what? Some fucking lunatic? Ridiculous! Dime should still be rockin' but at least his music will live on. RIP Dimebag. The world of rock isn't the same. Now, on a different note, it is time for the great Eddie Van Halen to release some NEW MUSIC!! Come on! We're READY!!

Dime is burried in a kiss "Koffin" with a ton of Booze and the original EVH Gibson Destroyer scene on the VH cover of "Women and Children First".

I thought it was the black & yellow EVH frankie strat from VH 2 album cover? I might be wrong but that is what I read and friends told me.
Champane97 2 years ago
I might be wrong: it was a news article I read. Eddie was mentioned as being drunk as well and being really rude to Zakk, who also attended. Infact, I read this on KNAC. It's a great metal channel, check it out. I think the old article is still there on the internet.
phrydoom 2 years ago
@phrydoom Where was this that Ed was drunk and rude?
theShowStopper321 7 months ago
I believve there is only one frankie strat. It started out white and black and then he painted red over it. He still has it. The blue and yellow guitar is what is burried with dime. Eddie said the blue and yellow always had problems and didn't sound real good, but dime told him it was his favorite.
jjbbuu 2 years ago
@jjbbuu The guitar them burried with dimebag was yellow and black.

yeah and the reissue is getting sound Line 6 play in my living room. : )
BigTroubles 2 years ago
Agreed: Page, Angus Young...when they play you know who is playing--or ripping them off. EVH was the same, Vai too. It's the genius of the instrument. If God created a better instrument than the guitar, he kept it for himself, IMO.

@jklinecarguy Dime was real good. He had some chops

the yellow and black guitar was on the cover of 2, not WACF. And yes, eddie buried it with dimebag.

I think the boys should go back into the studio in 2009 and record all these songs for a new album. Most would be better than any of the crap coming out these days!
kantpanik 3 years ago 2
wat are u talkin bout. they should go in a few months and release one. They'd make it on top. And if they don't. It's probably crap rap music.

Wow you got some photos I've never seen on this clip!! Where can you get these photos? Though this is a great song, I doubt it will make the new record (that's if there is a new album?) I think this version of VH would rather put all new material on an album.
Champane97 3 years ago
At 00:43 you see the Black and Yellow VH2 Charvel. From the picture it looks like he got this guitar on the first tour (standard trem with back neck painted black). I also want a pair of Ed's "W"sneakers...they're badass old skool!
tullynewyork 4 years ago
Love this song. I dont know that there will be a record. But the way Dave said "this isnt a reunion, it is a new band", makes me think that they have more future plans, and most people will want to see some new songs so i think that they will release a new record if they really are back together for good. I also agree that it may not be till 09-11 before a record comes out because it does take time to record songs just perfectly. Unless they recorded before the tour, it will take time to record.

The description of this song says it could make it to the new record in 2008. I haven't heard any rumors yet. wondering if whoever posted this song knows anything?

Hah! New record in 2008? Dream on. Dont expect a new record until 09'-11' if anything at all.
DemonicScreams666 4 years ago
Hey man it could happen.
5150EVH5150 4 years ago
Well, they're still gonna tour until maybe summer 2008. Then they're gonna take a well deserved break for about 2 months or so. Then they'll have to get more material, then recording it would take atleast 4 months (considering DLR's vocal capabilites). Believe me, I want another VH record more then anybody, but when you really break it down theres no way. =VH= forever!
DemonicScreams666 4 years ago
I hope so. I hear in the news that Eddie is not doing too well and that VH had to cancel some of there shows. Hopefully Ed is ok and no relapses.
