  • bah the music sounds like in a shopping center

  • Carlarganda,

    That's certainly the hope!

    Thanks for viewing

    mannie

  • hahaha smallest museum i've ever seen

  • THAT IS a verry destinctive design!

The word "America" apparently come from the Mayan Language and is correctly pronounced "Amaracu" witch litterally means "Land of the Serpent".

    Strange huh?

Somewhere in The Bible, it says something like: "The wolf/evil shall come from the west". I dont remember this part clearly so i might have gotten something wrong about that one.

    But still interesting thou!

    :)

    /Salutations from Sweden!

  • @Bellybeard America is named after the Italian explorer Amerigo Vespucci... fuck off with your bible references...

  • flyby

Thanks for shedding light on this pressing issue.

    mannie

  • AMERICA IS A CONTINENT FROM TIERRA DEL FUEGO < CHILE in the SOUTH ALLLL THE WAY UP TO THE ISLAND OF KISKA IN ALASKA.. THE USA HIJACKED THE NAME AMERICA FOR THEMSELVES.. DON't believe look it up ON ANY MAP.. YOULL SEE THE CONTINENT NAMED AMERICA..

  • Sorry man.. but its was the norwegians who discovered america..

  • @KristianCramer Nobody knows who was the first to hit America - but most belive it was either the Islanders or Norwegians - it should be the Vikings or the Norse were the first to hit North America.

  • @Blackie3391 America was discovered by Leif the Happy... a Norwegian..

  • @KristianCramer, You got it all messed up, Leif den Lykkelige was from Iceland, son of Erik den Røde. Iceland was a part of the Denmark and from 1536 - 1814 so was Norway. So if it was in that period, then it was the Danes who discovered it as Norway and Iceland were non-existent

  • @Fragment87 Iceland first became a part of denmark in 1262. And it was the norwegians that settled on iceland first. Leif was son of the norwegian Erik den røde and this makes him a norwegian since iceland was not ruled by any specefic nation.

  • djscotty,

Currently, I have no helmets for sale.

    mannie1952

  • Do you sell any helmets? I will check for your site

  • A little known fact. During WW2, the Danish Army only had 6,600 men.

  • @4head11 Another fact was we had probaly one of the most succesfull resistances in Europe - we saved like 95% of all our jews in one single night - even the crews on our naval ships either tried to get to neutral Sweden or then they sunk their own ship. They sabotaged, killed german officers/traitors (not long ago there was an interview of a resistance fighter who killed I think it was 13 traitors alone) but it had a price - more than 3000 resistance fighters were arrested/killed in the end

  • that thing is a civillian helmet because its black the combat one was green!

  • Thank you for your comment. I think I may have mentioned that this is a Danish Civil Defense helmet as indicated by the livery as well as the liner.

    Keep tuning in.

    Best wishes,

  • pebermynthe,

Please, no need to apologize! Just glad to know you watched the video.

    Now go get some sleep.

  • Hmmm. The pastries actually don't have any connection to Denmark besides the fact that we eat them. I think the Germans actually came up with them. Funny about the name though

  • pebermynthe,

Well how about Tony Curtis as a viking? Surely that has some basis in history?

    mannie1952

  • Sorry. In my defense it should be said that it was about 4:30 in the morning when I wrote that. I can't sleep at the moment.

  • Very good video! Nice museum! Ir really admire you!

  • love your vid:-) thanks

  • About the red colour... The resistance NEVER coloured their helmets with any colour... Neither in or after the war... Some resistance groups like the communistic BOPA or the Konservative Holger Danske SOMETIMES painted the name of the group on the helmet... I have NEVER seen that red line before.. ( and I live in Denmark) Not even on the resistance museum... Where they got tons of helmets from the different resistance groups!!)

But thank you soooo much for posting :)

  • The red stripe was painted right about the liberation, as a recognition marking similar to the armbands.

  • Har du noget bevis på at det er blevet gjort?

  • Nope, but the red stripe was also used on the armbands, and considering how the armbands were not official, and were rather hastily introduced, and used for only a few days, it is not hard to imagine one or two individuals decorating their helmets in a similar fashion.

  • Okay...

  • Okay let me first of all tell you: A job well done by you!!

You are actually right!! It is an civil defence helmet... The army issued helmet has a different liner (The famous eight leather flaps!!) , and a decal in the front!! It is also MUCH MUCH heavier...

  • I prefer my danish with coffee but I did learn a few things.

  • NICE glass door with your logo on it!!!!!

  • Thanks Mary!
