I reunited with my Marine. He graduated hs in '83, we kept in touch but then the letters became less and less. He wanted to take me with him as I find out later on but I was two years younger than him and I was a minor so he couldn't.

My Marine is halfway through his time in bootcamp. I'm trying to stay strong but some days are harder than others, but each day that goes by I'm one day closer to seeing him again, and that means so much. The proof of progress in this all so endless process of waiting for the one who holds your heart to come back to you. I'm not sure why I'm writing this, I guess I just wanted to share as well. It helps! As does this video, it gives me hope that we'll both be strong enough through this.. :)

@afmc0321 If it was only 3 years ago, then they have at least another year before they are eligible to leave the Corps. A Marine's minimum enlistment time is 4 years. If Amanda & Jayne made contact with each other when Alex & Ryan joined, then they are probably still in touch. Maybe married too by now. Usually, when Marines (& their girlfriends) meet, they remain friends for life. We will have to wait for an updated report from them to see. Hope all is well for them. SEMPER FI!!
I just graduated college and joined the USMC as an officer. The few weekd before I left I asked my girlfriend to marry me, and told her I' d always stay faithful. This was on January 1, 2010. A month later when I signed the final paperwork she left me. 3 years gone, right before Valentines day. If you have a wife. fiance'. gf please dont take my experience and pass it on. Its hard, but this is what I wanted to do since I was 8. God bless those overseas, and their families patiently waiting.

I told my girl I was joining the Marines, something I've wanted to do since I was a little kid.....she laughed in my face, right in my FACE. When she found out later that I was serious and talking to a recruiter, she tried to set me up to get an open-container/underage drinking charge. When I stupidly told her I'm going to basic (Parris Is.) on 26-07-2010, she dumped me and then tried to run over my dog. Psycho Bitch is no longer part of my life. I apparently have bad taste in women.

First, it is very disrespectful & offensive to women. Second and more serious, that remark is grounds for a "Court-Martial". Conduct Unbecoming of a Marine (i.e., MISCONDUCT). It carries the same seriousness and punishment as disrespecting a superior officer (Article 89).

Good luck to you too Trust you're boyfriend gonna have a tough time in the Boot Camp they'll treat him lower than dirt. Not only you have to be physically fit but mentally fit also. Before graduation he will go through something called the Crucible where they deprive him of sleep and food for 3 days i think. I was going to join the Marines they'll gladly except me if it wasn't for my tattoos
yea when we watch a movie or something at his house we end up watching something envolving the Mariens and it's pretty cool to watch and i tell him that he's crazy cause he wants to be treated like that for a lil over a month but he says the reward is better than the punishment
Yeah its tougher than that depending on his platoon cuz those drill instructors just like to embarrass the recruits. If he's unlucky and have this one fuck up recruit in the platoon his whole time there will be hell. Them Marines really live up their name of the Few and The Proud. As for the rewards he might think that now but as months go by he won't think the same it takes a lot of dedication and strong desire to be a Marine and maintaining that title.
i just got back from the marines. when i got back my girl was waiting there for me. she told me she cried everynight while i was gone. but the tears of happiness when i got back just seem to erase the horrors of battle for a few seconds. so just know whenever your marine sees you it helps him

I reunited with my Marine. He graduated hs in '83, we kept in touch but then the letters became less and less. He wanted to take me with him as I find out later on but I was two years younger than him and I was a minor so he couldn't.

My Marine is halfway through his time in bootcamp. I'm trying to stay strong but some days are harder than others, but each day that goes by I'm one day closer to seeing him again, and that means so much. The proof of progress in this all so endless process of waiting for the one who holds your heart to come back to you. I'm not sure why I'm writing this, I guess I just wanted to share as well. It helps! As does this video, it gives me hope that we'll both be strong enough through this.. :)

After watching this I noticed that it is dated January 2007. Being that it was 3 years ago I wonder what Amanda & Alex and Jayne & Ryan are up to. The guys could have finished thier time in the USMC and moved on back home and the girls could have drifted apart. Time and distance tend to cause that. I wonder if the guys have decided to stay in and make a carrer of the Marines with thier girls standing beside them. What ever you all are doing, where ever you are at.. Semper Fi!

@afmc0321 If it was only 3 years ago, then they have at least another year before they are eligible to leave the Corps. A Marine's minimum enlistment time is 4 years. If Amanda & Jayne made contact with each other when Alex & Ryan joined, then they are probably still in touch. Maybe married too by now. Usually, when Marines (& their girlfriends) meet, they remain friends for life. We will have to wait for an updated report from them to see. Hope all is well for them. SEMPER FI!!

I just graduated college and joined the USMC as an officer. The few weekd before I left I asked my girlfriend to marry me, and told her I' d always stay faithful. This was on January 1, 2010. A month later when I signed the final paperwork she left me. 3 years gone, right before Valentines day. If you have a wife. fiance'. gf please dont take my experience and pass it on. Its hard, but this is what I wanted to do since I was 8. God bless those overseas, and their families patiently waiting.

I told my girl I was joining the Marines, something I've wanted to do since I was a little kid.....she laughed in my face, right in my FACE. When she found out later that I was serious and talking to a recruiter, she tried to set me up to get an open-container/underage drinking charge. When I stupidly told her I'm going to basic (Parris Is.) on 26-07-2010, she dumped me and then tried to run over my dog. Psycho Bitch is no longer part of my life. I apparently have bad taste in women.

First, it is very disrespectful & offensive to women. Second and more serious, that remark is grounds for a "Court-Martial". Conduct Unbecoming of a Marine (i.e., MISCONDUCT). It carries the same seriousness and punishment as disrespecting a superior officer (Article 89).

Good luck to you too Trust you're boyfriend gonna have a tough time in the Boot Camp they'll treat him lower than dirt. Not only you have to be physically fit but mentally fit also. Before graduation he will go through something called the Crucible where they deprive him of sleep and food for 3 days i think. I was going to join the Marines they'll gladly except me if it wasn't for my tattoos

Yeah its tougher than that depending on his platoon cuz those drill instructors just like to embarrass the recruits. If he's unlucky and have this one fuck up recruit in the platoon his whole time there will be hell. Them Marines really live up their name of the Few and The Proud. As for the rewards he might think that now but as months go by he won't think the same it takes a lot of dedication and strong desire to be a Marine and maintaining that title.

i just got back from the marines. when i got back my girl was waiting there for me. she told me she cried everynight while i was gone. but the tears of happiness when i got back just seem to erase the horrors of battle for a few seconds. so just know whenever your marine sees you it helps him
