  • Youtube video: "Let the bodies hit the floor, let the bodies hit the floor, let the bodies hit the floor,"

    Me: OH SHIT MUTE MUTE!!!

  • Great video, what is the rest of your workout like, or do you just do these 3 exercises?

  • The royal court you show is actually the same of Mr. Matt Furey's COMBAT CONDITIONING...i suggest to give a look at the great Karl Gotch videos...

  • Hi, I'm going to start doing this soon. I got Matt Fureys book "Combat Conditioning". In his book he write that you should do this 15 min a day. Aint it bad to train same muscles everyday? And should you do only one set per day in every workout of the royal court? Doesn't your body have to rest atleast one day a week?

I would really appreciate a response. Thanx.

  • everyone i've seen doing royal court exercises on youtube sure has great bodies,i mean as in real strong muscles not buffed like bodybuilders which doesn't give you lots of strength/stamina

  • Functional strength is real strength. But you should also train with weights just like Bruce Lee did (and dumbells and the likes,) to increase your max.

  • Hindu squats and Hindu pushups keep me feeling awesome throughout the day. I'm too chicken-shit to do the back bridge hehe. It looks scary as hell.

I wonder if I can get beefy doing only bodyweight exercises...

  • Male Gymnasts get beefy AND strong as hell doing just BW. Just up the leverage and do one-arm push ups & pistols when things get too easy. Weight Vests are good for making things more difficult.

Oh, & EAT LIKE A HORSE. Eat good nutritionally, but eat A LOT. Mass will go up, and you just get more BW to work with. Just monitor your body fat, it won't get out of hand as long as you're exercising & it's easy to cut back on the diet a little bit if you don't like where you're "gaining"... ^_^

  • I'm going to start doing these again soon. I got Furey's book a couple years ago and noticed that they helped a lot when I did them back then. It's low on routines and guidance though. Anyone heard of Ross Enamitt? Friend of mine bought his Never Gymless and it had me salivating. I'm going to buy one too. It's a lot more matter-of-fact than Combat Conditioning and I found a lot more exercises and routines in it. Costs about the same too.

  • Yah Ross is a Training Maniac! I highly recommend him and all his products. Great variety and ideas..cheers.

  • Cool moves Man.

  • great vid I love Matt's combat conditioning and combat abs u earned sub

  • My teacher says that your heels need to stay planted on the ground for hindu squats -- is this true?

  • No. Heels up, knees come forward on Hindu squats. Heels stay down for weightlifting. Don't listen to your teacher, listen to Matt Furey, he's the real expert on Hindu Excercise

  • hindu or no hindu knees shouldnt go past the toes, you are putting tension on your knees and damaging them

  • ask any hindu expert, knees go way past the toes. Wrestling greats Gama, and Karl Gotch did THOUSANDS a day in this manner virtually injury-free. You are putting tension on your knees and STRENGTHENING them

  • Listen to this guy :) And as long as your toes are pointing forward (and not to far apart) you won't feel any pain in the knees like you would do by regular squats that shouldn't be done on toes.

  • my coach is in his 50's and he still does 1000's of hindus and his knees are fine.

  • Hindus with heels down is a different workout. Furey did a seminar with my coach, if u watch dynamic stretching dvd, the school hes at on the underground secrets dvd is my school. furey know's alot about bodyweight but hes a crook, he only trained with karl gotch for 3 months. and i'm not bsing, furey even talks about my coach, john saylor on his website. so i'm not making shit up.his wife is a mail order bride, and her parents secrets, are on chinese underground secrets.

  • I herniated a couple of discs in my low back a couple of years ago and could not walk. I use the Royal Court and Combat abs and now my low back is getting stronger.... almost to the degree that I can now sit down on seats that don't have a back to support me.

  • my right shoulder blade always pops so i do the hindu push ups backwards

  • Shit man, I'm always afraid I'll fall on my face and break my neck..

  • Awesome form man!

    It helped me improve mine

  • Don't do it everyday, your muscles need rest. Everyone wants to look good that comes with strength and conditioning, so rest.

I too tried MF program, yes your lungs are conditioned, but puffy skin and no cut muscle.

  • Yea!

  • I did the royal court and the Furey program for several years and after all that I can tell you that this stuff is great IF you mix it with other conditioing methods. My body got used to the exercises after a while and I stopped benefitting from them after a while, even doing 500 squats a day wasnt doing much for me after a while. Mix the programs up with other stuff and stay fresh and you'll drop weight fast.

  • Good form on the Hindu pushups.

  • if u stick with the royal court exersises for one month eveerday which are hindu squats hindu push ups and the bridges u will notice a big difference

  • So... will you get big, or cut with this type of workout? Anyone care to send me their workout plan?? (sets, reps etc)

  • these are primarily for functional strength and conditioning.. not mirror-muscle. Although there is a school of thought that says it will make you bigger depending on how much you eat etc... the Great Gama of India was not a little guy.. and this was all he did.

  • Gama did NOT just do these exercises. There is a whole gamut of exercises that wrestlers traditionally have to go through in the Indian subcontinent which includes running with a weight around your neck, rope climbing, club swinging, partner carrying, and a lot more.

  • start with 25 hindu squats and 25 pushups..then see how long you can stay in bridge..DAILY I recommend you record this in a notebook.

When you can work up to 100 hindu squats/pushups and a 3 minute bridge..You will DEFINITELY feel and see a difference...cheers

  • im fat at 130kg would it be safe to do theses to lose weight i have to get back in hape

  • that neck bridge scares me, wont it fuk up your spine or compress it!!

  • Bending forward compresses.

    Bending backwards stretches and elongates.

Most people hurt their backs bending forward.

  • what ou mean, sorry it wasnt too clear, but still i think if uve got the neck muscles for it, ull b fine, the stress will b on your muscles not spine, and vice versa for som1 who hasnt gone through the necessary progressions.

  • The way you start to train doing the bridge is with your hand on the floor beside your head in order to build up to being able to put your full weight on it. Matt goes into great depth in his book describing what to do and what not to do while doing this exercise.

  • i have just started doing the royal court 3 times a day and yes they do give you a workout....but are you supposed to do them FAST or SLOW?! and are you meant to stretch between each excersise?

    any feedback much appreciated

  • I usually just start with hindu squats slow..then speed up a bit. That warms the body up quite well...stretch rest if you want..listen to your body.

  • Neckbridges are so hard on my skull cause my head isn't very flat up top, it's kinda sharp so the pressure kinda hurts. I'm going to have to try a pillow like this guy. Awesome workout.

  • Hindu pushups are the best, you work all your body with them!

  • Very good video I would recommend briding with the hands first if you don't know if your neck has sustained injury and talk to your doctor/chiropractor or whoever advises you on that stuff. The hindu pushups are very renound as I also read about them in Bruce Lees' art of expressing the human body thanks for the vid

  • I appreciate your video, thanks! QUESTION though, I have a bit of pain in my knees that started 1.5 yrs ago. Nothing helped it particularly. I started hindu squats, 25, 4x per day, going up 5 each day. I'm up to 65 now, 4x per day. I still feel pain in my knees, though not severe, is there a general rule here? I had the idea it would help reduce pain by making the muscles stronger.

  • I've just started doin this about three weeks ago, every morning and night. how many reps do you think I should be doin of the pushups and squats, and how long should I hold the bridge for? added situps as well. I need to get fit for the army. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

  • hey ironsoldier,

first and foremost get a training log and start recording your workouts if you haven't done so already...you want to SEE your progress...

Ill message you as my response is too long for this post.....

  • This stuff all works, but matt furey ripped off Karl Gotch. Karl said that matt came to him only for 3 months and then claimed to be the king of catch. matt furey does not even perform hindu squats like your spous to. karl gotch did this with his palms facing up towards the sky. how do i know this, my coach, olympic judo coach for 7 years, trained with gotchs main student, and then also had matt furey come and do a seminar at our school. get material from gotch (rip) his books will blow cc away

  • bullshit, i've seen footage of Indian wrestlers doing squats, they look just like this

  • we don't just do hindu's though. some weeks its with feet down, some weeks one leg at a time, some weeks jumping hindus. thats what the great gama did. u think he just did hindu squats and that was it. somedays he would do them with weight. karl gotch taught ioki with his palms up. i know that cause my coach learned from allen coege, who trained directly under ioki. so does that make gotch wrong. even thought thats who furey learned from.

  • that reversed pushup (in the bridge position) isn't it dangerous for the shoulders? at least so it seems...

  • actually its a good stretch. People also think that the bridge is dangerous for the neck and hindu squats dangerous for the knees...not so. Try it for yourself..that is the test for anything. forza e onore

  • All three of these, I have some lower back and knew problems and neck pain. Nothing serious, but I heard these can help handle those problems. How do I test if they are too much stress for the body? You know what I mean here? And I love the idea of exercises for busy people and your own body weight, i.e. can do it anywhere...

  • as long as u don't have shoulder problems to start with.

  • that was a fantastic bridge. much better than mine, nice job!

  • Keeerraaaaack!

    Careful m'man!

    Nice going.

  • hahahaah hilarious work out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • haha White Zombie

  • Good form on the Hindu Pushup; you seem to have a kind of forward push that I don't remember seeing Matt Furey do quite the same way.

  • Nice bridge. That's some great flexibility you got there.
