I really enjoy your offensive and defensive tactics videos, please make more of them if you have the spare time! there is always so much more to learn.. and it's good to have some food for thought on how operations could be conducted. Thanks again!
If you've done this several times before hand with the same group of Joe's, have experienced squad and team leaders who are familiar with squad attack, basic movements, reconnaissance, and know the battle drills and urban ops, you should be alright. Throwing this together last minute with a bunch of high speed hunters would be another story entirely. Get yourself a Ranger handbook, and run drills as often as you can. Shit get's a lot different in real life.
@SteadfastCountryman yes if people are not experienced with this I would never attempted it. I train people locally on these things and it takes time to get them working together. You would do more harm than good trying this with people that dont know what they are doing. Stick to defense and easier task then work up to this and more. Learn it then practice it and do rehearsals until you cant stand it anymore than do some more and more and more
@southernprepper1 Yeah, I've seen some of your other vids... and I think it's fantastic that you're taking the time to share your knowledge with those who may one day need it. You're doing it right... you've had the training and you continue to build on it. Showing others is great, but unless they get off YouTube and get in the field... well, you know the point I'm trying to make. I'll be sure to criticize more of your videos in the future, lol.
@30calcowboy it depends if they are bloodied and falling back weak pursue them and finish the fight then relocate back to strategic or more defendable location.
@southernprepper1 Thank you for the explanation. Without someone like you doing this, guys like me would never think of this stuff, or know how to do it. God bless you.
Hello SP1, I am from Augusta, Ga. I'm not too far from you and find our prepping styles similar. I tend to stay closer to the lake than woods tho, (Clark"s Hill).
Have you heard anything on a prepper conference coming up? I am at the stage now to get new ideas and share some ideas too. Thanks for sticking your neck out there for us quiet ones.
it would also be smart to plot out the land you are going to use when you "disappear" because if anyone like myself has prior service you know that you emphasize on their avenues of approach and it would be better of you could take the high ground... the high ground poses moving/ maneuvering problems to the enemy...
Keep in mind that this is all well and good against an enemy that is unprepared, undisciplined and not sandbagging or hiding capabilities and assets. Committing all your forces in one spot can lead to disaster for your group if the enemy has established ambush kill zones and is experienced in fire and maneuver. One improvised (or real) artillery piece, grenade or rocket would bring the offensive to an abrupt and final end.
@southernprepper1 Where would regular guys like me get a copy of that manual? Is it available online? Thanks for another video full of good, honest information. Cheers, Rob
@mostlymichaelcanada Also check out Sun TZU "The Art of Warfare" it is still currently being thought to west point cadets. The future officers of the empire states (USA). As will as other Academic Elite schools.
@woulfe42 I'd also rather setup a well planned trap for them a sucker them inn. Then have well placed snipers to take them out. Along with charges of high explosives in that way your basically going to reduce any causilties to your forces. In your explanation not that i'm knocking them, cause i do enjoy all your vids and appreciate your knowledge and sharing it with us. Just my opinion is that what if you focus all your men to that one weak spot and it turns out that they actually had it
@woulfe42 intentional left to just seem like it was a weak spot having drawn your forces to that location only to trap them in a explosive or flammable location. Or have a 50 cal stationed and well hidden until it's to late for your men to retreat. So that also has to be taken into account. Cause even recon along can't see or report on every enemy placement. And last i would advice the group to set aside some money for a RC Helicopter or plane with a mounted microcam as your prime recon surv-.
....... so this pick up truck ...... it's horse drawn ? or do you get it's fuel from that virtual petrol wagon, you found in level two ? come on you guys, stop looking at the fluff in your midriff, you sound like you spent too much time watching Korea / Vietnam rubbish as a pre - teen .... most people are mostly reasonable ..... get a grip & that's not of an M16.
@magna59 you sir are a idiot....do you really belive that "most people are reasonable" you keep on beliving that, right up untill the time the mobs of "reasonable people" come rolling down YOUR street, all with one thought in mind. Taking everything you may have food, water, whatever they please...and if that means killing you, your wife and your children they WILL. As for your stupid and uninformed comments...if you don't know what you speak of then STFU....and leave it to real men.
@magna59 You need to look up what happened to "reasonable" people when Argentina had their trouble a while back...Hurricane Katrina...the Falkland Islands...
When people get hungry and they see that their stores are empty and the normal world they know is disappearing, they go into a panicked survival mode and will do anything...to anyone...in order to eat and live.
Hey bro, we're probably not going to have to worry about wrol. Martial law is effectively already in place. My question is: What are you going to do when the military comes to take your community to the FEMA camps?
@ForestSongUnLTD Hopefully I will have a small window of opportunity to leave my locations and disappear. You have to go to a location that has no direct or indirect connection to you.
@mostlymichaelcanada probably this will be raw land that doesnt have a connection to you or anyone that you know. It will probably be state or federal land. If they are wanting you, you cant go to a friends house because phone records will get you because you probably have called your friend and this will not be a secure location so really you need to pick a location or spot that has no ties with you or any friends so this makes it harder. Pick a spot now.
What's your opinion on UAV's? There are now cheap battery powered tricopter UAV's available on the consumer market, mostly DIY, they can only fly for about 20 minutes though. You can easily equip them with low-light cameras and infrared LEDs. You fly them wearing goggles that transmit live video. Just search for tricopter fpv on YouTube.
@johan404 For night missionsThose IR LED's have a very short range. Even a thermal imager lacks ''aerial' range. Thats why the military uses multi spectral imagers in their drones. But I think a small UAV for daytime observation is viable. It could even be a camera on a weather balloon.
It is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles; if you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle. -The Art of War
I highly recommend reading The Art of War. It is ancient, but the wisdom is still relevant
In my mind I was imagining this attack taking place at night, What are your thoughts on rail mounted flashlights? I suspect they would just make good targets for the enemy! Although I could see where they might come in handy in room clearing or in the open at close quarters! especially on unfamiliar ground when they already know you are there. I ask because at this time I have an AR carbine with Hi Lux 1x-4x scope, plan on getting a mini red dot for close in! or laser! Any thoughts?
@usamachinist rail mounted flashlights are excellent. A must item for clearing buildings. Some type of red dot is helpful especially with low light where you cant see your iron sights they help out alot.
why not have 2 or 3 snipers that can pick off some when they pop out their heads, this will help ensure that u keep suppressed anyone or make them retreat
Know your area, know yourself. And you will be victorious
OK, I modified it a bit. Knowing your enemy is important too. But the 411 might not be available until they are attacking.
So, if you know HOW/WHERE they might attack from, odds are they have pre-scouted some. You can better defend. And maybe catch some/many in a trap/killing zone.
with ndaa being law we may find ourselves fighting our own troops or nato with agenda 21 in place . I'm prior service also and I would refuse to combat my own people but I saw a video after katrina where our national guard troops were unarming citizens in louisiana

brother, you should be charging us for this type of help which is why it means a lot to us when you don;t thanks again man for another great video full of stuff that can help save lives
Anyone who must engage in any kind of combat should read "The Art of War". Free PDF is available to download in many places. It explains all of the basics of tactics and waging war, even small wars. Its worth printing out and binding it.
I know this isn't the point of your video, but my question is related...
If, in the situation we're discussing, you do have to take such an action, do you have a plan for captured hostiles? No prisons, no police, no ability to charge or hold a trial... I know it's uncomfortable, but its something I've been thinking over for a long time. Care to share your thoughts on it?
The best ratio of suppressing fire to attack element for limiting casualities is 2 suppressing to 1 attacking. This can be accomplished by # of personal, or by type of weapons.
Remember to bring your reserves up when consolidating a position.
If you must move under fire remember 2 groups suppressing fire, one moving, leap frog with one team moving at a time.
If you have smoke, or other force multipliers use them. They limit # of people on your side hurt.
@Hefferman1 You seem to know what you're talking about. Another voice sharing this kind of knowledge on YouTube would be a valuable asset to the prepping community...
texture6 thanks for commenting. The principals Iam sharing apply in urban and the boondocks. If you know the enemy has a great long distance capability then trying to move over open ground is foolish but moving over any open ground is foolish. Its consider a danger area. Yes we are preppers and survivalists so stay low is the BEST but if you have to do something its better to have some idea of the right way of doing it.
@southernprepper1 my preparation is to try and acquire long-range skills, there is truth in what you say. I fall short on the community part just for lack of resources. If the situation was different I would have been long gone and out of the city. It will be interesting how all this, turns out? I fear we are scattered to far apart, the best thing would be to stay low and try and starve them-out??? Thanks and Godspeed !!!
All good points for sure but is this urban or out in the boondocks? Sorry to say but this is not Iraq or Afghanistan. The range I regular, long distance shooter ( 1000yrds ) are a dime a dozen and they can do this all day !!! My plan is to stay low and out of sight for as long as possible!!!
@texture6 Making a bench shot for a known yardage and making a real situation 1000 yard shot is different.
A .308 Win. has over 334 inches drop at 1000 yards with a zero at 500 yards with basic ball ammo. Now figure in the wind, rain, sun, mirage, altitude, and elevation varience. That is not an easy shot in the real world.
Now think someone is shooting back.
Many will talk about it, but very few can do that.
With good cammo, and proper movement it is hard to see someone at 1000 yards.
@Hefferman1Awesome thanks, you sound like yankeeprepper. I might have cheated just a little, with acquiring a Horus Vision Scope (HAWK). Interesting 334 inches (27.83ft), I guess a .308 falls flat after 500yrds :)
@texture6 Out past 700 yards it is dropping fast. For flat shooting at that range you need a more powerful round. 800 yards is considered a very good shot.
That said you can still make good shots with a .308 to that range, but you need to have the range. That is why a range card is so improtant at distance.
Just for an example, your basic battle site zero in the Corps was 300 yards with a M-16 with a 20" barrel back in the day.
Thanks LivingHistorySchool for the advise I appreciate the advise.
