No one here is "retarded." Jwalber, you played the piece accurately, but I'd give it a bit more feeling, emphasize the dynamics some more, and stop moving back and forth so much, because it's distracting and it compromises your technique. Other than that, good job, this is a hard piece. I played it in my third year of undergrad.
I agree with you, but I think moving is important. One needs to feel the music and if feeling it by moving is Jwalber's way, he should keep doing it. Look at the Berliner Philharmoniker for instance: they move like crazy when they are performing and the result is great. In my opinion, music should be about what you hear, not what you see. Wouldnt you agree?
This piece is a beautiful piece for the clarinet and piano. As an aspiriing clarinetist who is very good, and who is male I enjoy seeing good clarinetists.
I'm sorry for the following comments but please take in to heart... Your tempo is much to slow on the 1st movement; your reed is much too hard and your do not have the breathe support to control the production of tone; your technique needs improvement - all your fingers do not work together at the same time; in the last few measures your bearly produce a tone that is not full of "fuzziness"; listen to yourself and compare.
this is an excellent recital of a seldom performed piece. (at least down here in carolina) i LOVE paul hindersith. these two musicians are both very good, listen to the beautiful tone of the clarinet-- i LOVE clarinet and oboe-- teh woodwinds are all good w. me (not so much the brass but i'm trying to liek them more) love, a violinist
p.s. good sound quality! no mics, right? i keep trying to tell people they are often innecessary for recording recitals
this is a wonderful recital and a nice piece-- seldom heard!!! you both did so well, the sound quality is excellent, i keep trying to tell people, u don't always need a mic.
why dislike her playing? sounds perfectly fine to me! :)

very boring and you tried to over play dynamics and accents. Its a unique piece and should be played as such.
