  • i ont get the part about changing upper recievers at 1:03

  • I'm running the 20" 450 Bushmaster Upper on a Stag Arms AR/15 Lower. And it is a dream gun. As far as parts differences, the only difference is that the Barrel is different, yet will lock into a standard AR15 Upper Receiver. Carrier is the same, but the bolt is different. Visit 450bushmasterDOTnet. We love to help thumper owners and future owners.

  • actually guardian22553 they would not be able to use the same upper because the upper houses the bolt carrier, they use the same lower. if you dont know about guns dont talk like you do

  • Since when is 250 grains heavy for a .458 diameter bullet? I would never use that on bears. I'll stick with a .45-70 shooting 400 grains at 2100 fps.

  • Whats the price tag look like on an upper reciever to shoot these rounds?

  • so if i got this rifle in 450. i could shoot 223 and 308 rounds and all i have to change is the mag and the upper just asking if any of you know. i would love an ar 15 but i wouldnt know what to hunt with a 223 i was told 270 ain was the lowest you could hunt deer with in va by fish and game. the ar just looks fun to shoot but i bow hunt myself.t/y to anyone if you can help me with my q?

  • @guardian22553 You are talking two different AR's.

The 223 and 450 Bushmaster are on the AR 15 receiver.

    The 308 - 243 - 7mm-08 - 260 Remington is built on the AR-10 receiver .

223 works great for deer with good High quality bullets such as Barns-x - Nasler Portions- Trophy Bonded Bear claws . use 60 grain bullets and heavier for best kills on Deer and for Black bear over bait stations

My best AR -15 I build for deer is the 7.62x39 mm Russian .

Need one built let me know for a quote .

  • @Moldovawineimporter i was asking a q? if the 223 and the 450 do they use the same ar 15 receiver. there cheep here in fredericksburg virginia. i was thinking of getting a ar 15 but i was told by fish and game we couldnt hunt with a 223 in this area i use a bow my friend had the ar 15.

  • @guardian22553 Yes 223 and 450 Bushmaster use the same AR 15 upper receiver .I do not your your states laws so I can't help you on that issue .

When in dough then use the 450 Bushmaster, then those deer only know one direction to go, and that is down and dead !.

You can by the AR 15 in 223 then have all kinds of uppers made for the gun to match any shooting with many different calibers .

One personal favorite I build is an AR 15 in 7.62x 39 Russian which is very close to 30-30win ballistics .

  • I think it would be a neat idea if a company such as the Springfield Armory were to make an M1A/M14 style rifle in this chambering. Anyone else think so?

  • A full auto Bushmaster 450 would totally be able to kill an elephant!

  • I will stick to 5.56

  • @Uparmored81 and i will stick with my 6.8

  • Holds a .023 grouping at 2000 meters

  • Does anyone know what .450 Bushmaster would do to a moose? Would it be effective?

  • they said "enough power to hunt any North American game", ive never been hunting so dont scold me if im wrong, but i think most rounds bigger than .308 could take a moose down

  • Very effective...the moose will definately know its getting its ass kicked

  • @Captain: Im sure it will take a moose down. I use 205 grain 7.62x54R FMJ, and soft point heavy ball rounds. They do the job quite well also!! -TX

  • i wonder wat it would be like if they tested the combat effectiveness of this round to the .223

  • @Dafroft lol 30 rounds at 800rpm full auto

  • @MC1796 well of course you wouldnt want to use it in the same way. It would require a little redesign of the rifle's internal organs. Give it semi-auto and mabey 2 round burst. it would also probably be needed for some inventive solution to squeeze a few more rounds in the magazine because these look a little bigger then a .223.

  • reminds me of the old 45-70

  • The only difference really between this and the .50 beowulf are larger caliber, and heavier bullets. However the .458 socom offer much more power with bullets just as heavy as the .50 beowulf. Both the .458 socom and .50 beowulf are used on ar 15 platforms.

  • 458 socom has nothing on accuracy with this sub 200 yards, i have a carbine and can get 1" groups at 150 no problem without a bench....sick cartridge and even better gun

  • "1" groups at 150 no problem without a bench" I would post a video of that before you bark. No offense just sayn

  • actually this round is faster and develops more energy at the muzzle.

  • If you like the AR now try out there gas piston conversion kit.So much cleaner in the reciever.Great investment for anyone who shoots theres as much as i do.

  • MOST piston uppers, unfortunately, are'nt all they're cracked up to be. POF owners are experiencing some dangerous problems

  • what kind of problems have been reported?

  • yeah what problems?

  • Yeah...what problems? My POF SBR 9 1/2 inch runs like a champ plz explain this "danger"

  • I have 2 ar15's and an SKS and a cheap Romanian AK.... Both the piston powered commie guns cost less than half the prices of one of My AR's and are 10 times more reliable. I'd gladly buy a piston conversion kit for an AR15. The direct gas impingement system on the AR15 is like re-routing the exhaust gas from a car right back into the air intake. It's horrible. Sometimes, I don't even like to shoot my AR's just because I know I'll have to clean it when I take it home...

  • The direct gas system is indeed inferior to piston operation in terms of maintenance.

But AR15 are extremely reliable unless poorly maintained.

  • I agree with you... If I thought the AR was terrible, I wouldn't have bought 2 of them. I never had an "assault rifle" until I had an AR. For the first year, it was amazing. After that, I bought my AK. Then I realized how much hype and bullshit surrounds the AR. Just to give an idea, I had over 1500 rounds through my AK before I cleaned it the first time. I feel that if I don't clean the ARs after having them out every time, I feel like I'm on the verge of having a poorly maintained rifle

  • The AR has a lot going for it though. The modular platform is revolutionary. It allows things like this (450 bushmaster) to happen. It's pretty accurate, and looks very "ahead of it's time", even by today's standards. In comparison, the AK has an unrefined feel to it, and is a little on the ugly side. They weren't too concerned with ergonomics, ability to add accessories, and ability to change calibers. It just does a very good job at what it's supposed to do. Kill, and be reliable.

  • MOST piston uppers, unfortunately, are'nt all they're cracked up to be. POF owners are experiencing some dangerous problems

  • Since it is from Hornady, I would guess the reloading data will be available from them.

Sounds like I need a new upper!

  • fine video. The bullets are .452-inch diameter and the first reloading data will be associated with the 240 and 300 grain XTP-Mag bullets. The widely distributed .452 bullets should go a long way toward getting it accepted by mainstream shooters.

  • Thumper's ROCK! If you have never fired a .450 Bushmaster, or a .459 SOCOM out of an AR, you are MISSING OUT! These rounds give the little mousegun BALLS! yes, big, hairy balls! It actually kicks a bit, and if you don't hold tight, it will bruise your shoulder a bit. I think I will save a bit of dough, and get me the .450 Bushmaster upper in a 16" rail set up. 2x4 competition? No Sweat!

  • What about the ".458 SOCOM" or the lesser known ".499 LWR". dont know about the FTlbs on the socom exactly; but the .499LWR case is longer than the .500 S&W and actually beats it in Ftlbs of about 3,000.

    Most powerful my #$%^.

Just because the ammo is new doesnt mean its more powerful. I do believe corbon makes the .458 socom though.

Dont get mw wrong I enjoyed the video, just the narrator was incorrect.

  • are they using those in Iraq yet?

  • probably not

  • Yes

  • I wish i brought me an AR instead of AK

  • I swore I would never buy an AR, but I did, and I love it!

Now I have to get a big bore upper!

P.S. There are 7.62 X 39 uppers now if you want one to fit the ammo you already own.

  • yea, what I like about the AR-15 is you can change the upper reciever like that big bore & Beowulf. not like the ak's you cant change the recievers if you want a big ammo's

  • 450 bushmaster is not the biggest out there 50 beowulf is a 400 gr 50 cal slug at 2000 fps that will hit harder than a 250 gr 45 cal slug at 2200 fps still getting one but if you want the hardest hitting get the 50

  • .50 Beowulf. Have one, Love it! Bugs are worked out, 400 Gr. FP @ 2000 FPS Way harder hitting than a 250 Gr. bullet.

  • Boobtube22222: I have to agree with you. I don't know how they can say the 450 is the most powerful with the Beowulf out there. I have a Beowulf topped with a Nightforce. I load 385gr Remington core lock ultras. It will put a hole through 12" of telephone books like butter. Beowulf is the King!

  • .50 cals shouldnt be used on personell or game tho, in the army we're only allowed to use them on high value targets AND OR equipment. i think they meant that .450 is the most powerful round to use on game and not fucking destroy it

  • You must be mistaken the .50 BMG with the .50 Beowulf. The Beowulf was meant for short to moderate range similar to the .450 Bushmaster.

  • I am so glad to see that the AR's abilities are growing everyday.

  • how can i have automatic rifles???

  • You have to get a tax stamp from the US Treasury Dept.

  • For full-auto....you must have a class 3 license.

  • Jaysus

  • Eat that, Zumbo!!!
