  • @SilverMongooseVideos dude , im hearing a lot of cars outside your house. Are you having Super Mario Kart drag races? :P

  • @MisoCrazyCup The only drag races worth having.

  • No high frequency slow controler?

  • you're really good at informing your viewers about all these retro systems! keep it up :D

  • hahaha i got super nintendo + 2 controllers + donkey kong country and megaman x2 for 20 euros :D

  • SilverMongooseVideos>ClassicGameRoom BY A LONGSHOT!

  • like the vid good review on the most epic games console

  • Liked the vid! A lot of info!

  • Oh yeah and I can't forget The Legend of Zelda A Link To The Past Also my favorite!

  • Same here man! the SNES is the best Super castlevania 4 and mario allstars, Megaman 7 are my favorites.

  • The SNES will always be my favorite system

  • I'm 14, and I say SNES is epic, XBOX, PS3, and Wii are crap.

  • Comment removed

  • Also awesome video!

  • WHAT SUPER MARIO BOWSER THEME MUSIC IS? I NEED IT NAO

  • @tinyhat123 The music is in the description.

  • Your system hasnt yellowed! are you god

  • You did a really nice video! I LIKE a lot

  • SilverMongoose I have yet another question, I just got a Super Nintendo with 2 controllers, all the cables, Super Mario world with the styrofoam (idk how to spell) for where the stuff goes and the Box in a great condition for 50 Bucks is that a good deal?

  • @alexfart67 If it's in great condition, sure.

  • @SilverMongooseVideos Well I do have it now and it looks Brand new but the box is a bit worn on the corners and I had to take apart the controllers to clean them and fix the L and R triggers...which wasn't fun

  • I found two SNES'S in my storage two days ago, oh yeaaaaah...

  • AT first sega genesis was at top taking 60 % of the market sega lost only cause of the attachments

  • ok i got a deal from my freind for $15 i can get a snes, 2 controllers, and mario world

problem is i dont know what my parents will have to say

should i go ahead and see if i can get it?

  • @SpontaneousJunk Heck yes

  • @SilverMongooseVideos thanks

    i will ask them

  • @SpontaneousJunk Don't you think about it twice. If you're a little kid, haven't played this console before and want to have REAL fun, get it. Nevermind about what your parents will say, who knows, maybe the SNES was part of their youth and they'll even like it

  • @dodgecoronet68 actualy my freind pulled back on the idea

so now i am going to try and get an nes

    but thanks anyways

  • Go!!! Nintendo® i love Nintendo!!!!!

  • Love the star fox music in the beginning

  • The SNES power supply I can remember worked with my Virtual Boy too!

  • i got my snes for free no yellowing and with a few games lmao

  • Yeah Next to the NES the SNES is in my top 5 consoles!

Great games and Im lucky enough to have the Akklaim wireless controllers too,I modded mine to play Super Famicom games so I get to play the import Greats like SUPER GENJIN,Bonk here in the states ;0)

Going over to see why mine is Yellow now, thanks for the Trivia ;0)

  • Funny thing about the power adptor is that in Europe the Nes and Snes power adaptor is the same. You can easily use a nes p-a with your snes and vice versa.

  • Can i be you?

  • what is a better console to get snes or sega genesis

  • @Gamexrakeem SNES by a goddamned landslide

  • @Gamexrakeem It all depends on what kinds of games you like

  • @Gamexrakeem The SNES is more for RPGS mainly because of Super Marrie-o RPG, Earthbound, Cronno Trigger, and Final Fantasy games. The SNES is also good for platform games like Super Mario World, and Donkey Kong Country Games. The Sega thing is best at fighting and racing games. But still, Super Mario Kart is my favorite racer... Therefore the SNES is my favorite game console of all time!

  • @Gamexrakeem The only good game on sega genesis is sonic, there are like 80% of the games on snes that are epic-decent even to now adays standards

  • I'm going to hunt after a snes, My dad had one years ago, I broke it, but I didn't know the value back then..

  • cual es esa mucika

  • @makerzx12

    BGM:

    Corneria- Starfox

Dark World-LOZ A Link to the Past

    Battle- Chrono Trigger

    Athletic-Super Mario World

    Lose Life-Super Mario World

    lee la descripción...

  • @fernando1990619b I fucking love Starfox!

  • Hey SilverMongoose. I actually picked up another SNES model 1 system last week and it works great, Its very clean inside. But the main shell on top is yellow. So on this one its a 1991 model "at least thats what it says on the back" I already bought all the paint for it and I have my nintendo bits to unscrew. I want to show you the video when im doing it. For everyone else here reading this. I'm going to be fixing up this SNES next week so you are welcome to come watch the video I up as well. :)

  • @Metalitron12 Cool, send me the vid when you are done.

  • @SilverMongooseVideos

Hey, I just finished it this morning. I sent you the video and to everyone else looking for it. Here is the youtube link to part 1.

    /watch?v=SWIeSFl_h2o

Also Silver Mongoose. I put some of your videos in the description of my videos as a reference. :)

  • Definitly my FAVORITE! console on this God made earth

  • @supercrazy6758 but the european version is it more

  • The Genesis had a faster mhz rating but it was only single core. The SNES was a dual core with 2 16 bit CPU's (One for graphics and one for the sound) The second 16 bit proccessor was made by Sony which supported wavetable synthesis over Genesis FM synthesis.

  • How do you not notice the giant gray button that says "eject" on it? ..

  • @ball3r90 Kids miss a lot of obvious things, especially if they aren't necessary.

  • This console is so cool I mean amazing and cool games

  • I used to have it console works amazing and very much have a great decent games as top gear, now I just have the emulator for my laptop omg

  • my friends was yellowed and he told me it was a special edition.

  • @MegaCandy39 The one that has the games you like.

  • @MegaCandy39 It's all a matter of taste, my friend.

  • Your not yellow SNES is still pretty dirty IMO

  • LMAO man. I didn't know there was a eject button on the SNES either when I was a kid. But then when I got another on ebay 20 years later. "today" I realized it was there.

    Great review :)

    Happy Gaming!

  • i love you script :)

  • Gamez Alive Episode 3

  • Which of these SNES cables would be required just for the console to work? (i.e. not add ons)

  • @OoTFanboy The ones I point out.

  • I actually would love to have the SNES even if its yellow :D

  • i have the super nintendo but it looks different is it still the smae if i got a different ac adapter cord?

  • @Rdenver08 Are you talking about the SNES Jr, or a PAL version?

  • @SilverMongooseVideos its the snes mini

  • @Rdenver08 Ok, so what is your question exactly? Sorry I don't understand what you are asking.

  • @SilverMongooseVideos im missing my power cord and i was wondering if i could buy one on ebay and use that?

  • @Rdenver08 Ah. It's the same power cord as the original snes. So long as its 10v and 850ma I don't think it matters where the power comes from.

  • You have the best reviews for gaming systems on youtube!

  • ok

  • Hi !!! watch my snes unboxing video !!!

  • Ignore that second part. What should I get? Nes or snes? For Mario

  • @nwesterbeckmaster Idk man. If you don't mind remakes then I would get the SNES since you can get the 4 NES mario games on Mario All Stars, plus you can get the two Mario World games.

  • @SilverMongooseVideos by the way, i got an NES and so far i love it. i have zelda 1 and super mario bros 1 and 2

  • @nwesterbeckmaster Definitely the Super Nintendo

  • So if I'm mostly going to play Mario related games, super Mario world marries

  • U rock

  • WOW YOU HAVE SO MYCH NITENDO GAMES!

  • @neso941 I do, but those aren't all mine. Some belong to my girlfriend.

  • @SilverMongooseVideos your girlfriend plays nintendo!!!! that..............IS FUCKING AWSOME!!!!!!!!!

  • @SilverMongooseVideos half of my super Nitendo is yellow the bottom of it

  • @jered91

Hey, now. I like SilverMongoose's videos because I like to discover things I didn't know. I'm sure SilverMongoose appreciates anything I can share just the same.

"lol BS Zelda= Bull Shit Zelda"

You can see why I thought it was just some kid who ended up here after searching for "Zelda"...right?

  • Gotta love these informative videos...I'm just trying to fill-in the gaps :)

01:05 I think "Gradius 3" wasn't really a launch title...it was a "launch window" title (not actually available on launch day). My local stores had "Populous" before they had "Gradius 3."

08:30 Hudson wasn't the only one. I recall the unlicensed "Naki Tribal Tap." I believe some sports games had mail-order forms for multi-tap models that didn't exist in retail.

  • @jevansturner No worries. I have no problem with people pointing things out in my videos so long as they aren't jerks about it.

Ah, well, I usually don't mention unlicenced things unless they are really significant.

  • 08:20 Description says BGM is "Overworld" from SMW. It's actually "Athletic BGM."

SMW had 2 main outdoor themes: "Athletic BGM" (you played) "Overworld BGM" (as opposed to "Underworld" or "Underground")

Not to be confused with: "Map 2 (Overworld)"

    v=G_bs2oF55U8 "Overworld BGM"

    v=ywXj_dYI-yw "Athletic BGM"

    v=K6nbejeoSE4 "Map 2 (Overworld)"

  • @jevansturner Too true.

  • 05:00 It was used by the BSX (Satellaview)

    06:30 Worth noting: SNES2 didn't support S-Video output.

07:15 All buttons were convex in Japan and Europe, and colored to match the SFC logo.

  • @jevansturner I did mention the satellaview a couple seconds later.

  • 03:20 Broken DC jack?

04:30 "Says use for Super NES only. So you won't get it mixed up"

There's a reason the end is gray: So you don't get it mixed up with another power cord and try to force the wrong one.

Your jack appears to be broken. Hmm...

  • @jevansturner All my home consoles (minus the Wii) has been secondhand. As soon as they get into my hands though, they stay safe.

  • @jered91

    ...or "Broadcast Satellaview"

  • "...this ancient sticker says 'Power switch must be off before loading or removing a game pak' which is pretty obvious."

"Here's an Eject button to push out the games. When I was younger, I didn't even notice this button existed. I would always just...pull it out...kids just don't notice those things."

The sticker was added after the initial launch units. Early units had a lock mechanism. Kids broke things by trying to yank carts. The lock was removed and carts were redesigned to defeat it.

  • @I'm not sure but my guess would be no, so long as you were gentle on it.

  • my friend sold me a snes for 5 bucks its in great condition but its yellow on the controller ports he had 5 games but no controller or cable but i have a 64 av cable so all i need is a controller and the cables

  • I bought my super nes in Brazil in 1992 that time it used to be imported from USA one year later started being made in Brazil and I still have it and i dont want to sell I really like it and sometimes i play games like mario, f zero, final fight, street fight star fox,etc despite i got a playstaion 3.

  • Purple was really Nintendo's color on quite a few consoles, huh?

  • @Bloodthr0e Ya man. Too bad they don't have a purple Wii. That would be awesome.

  • @SilverMongooseVideos Well, it shows more personality than white or black. Heck, the silver chrome on my ps3 is my favorite part about it's exterior. :/

  • Got a snes for €15 yesterday :D

    a PAL version,since i live in Europe

the ony yellowed piece are the controller ports and the panel that says "Super nintendo entertainment system"

  • @Flodder450 Wasn't sure if that model yellowed as well. Thanks for the info.

  • @SilverMongooseVideos

The PAL SNES consoles are basicly a different version of the Super Famicom they just relabeled it and also, the japanese SF has a much shorter wire then either the USA or PAL SNES

PAL and Japanese Cartridges are the same in shape, they just dont work on an other regions's SNES :P

  • @SilverMongooseVideos not a big problem really depends of where and how you keep it I never had it tho it could just been a bad mix of plastic used on that one.. does happen sometimes I guess!

  • @misterbearbe Sure does. Have a whole video on it.

  • @SilverMongooseVideos Do you know what the cause might be of flickering graphics? The cartridge is clean but sometimes especialy when a lot of things is happening the moving stuff flickers and the end of the screen has some bugged graphics on it. Thinking its propably my NES needing replacement or something I put wrongly back together.

  • @misterbearbe I'm pretty sure that's just the system having problems keeping up. A lot of older systems have that issue.

  • i just found mine and i relized why i havent had it it is because i broke the powercable

  • i just bought a snes but it didint have the cables, but i have an n64, so can i just use the cable from that? is that the better one to use?

  • @TheWorldOfJames You can use the AV cable from a64 or a gamecube. Not the power adapter though.

  • @SilverMongooseVideos cheers dude!

  • thanks dude you helped me with my project for school

  • luv your vids

  • Thanks for the advice about the switching of the cables from a N64 or Gamecube to use on my Super Nintendo. I was completely oblivious! So now, I'm gong to try to use them so that my screen won't be snowy anymore when playing my games. C:

  • My SNES/Super Nintendo looks completely different from yours, all European ones did. Only the USA had ugly looking ones, do I feel sorry for you. Hehe

  • @Vyxeria Matter of opinion I suppose. A SNES isn't a SNES without some purple.

  • @SilverMongooseVideos

what about the snes with the colored abyx buttons ?

  • @zztopis2 Those are pretty cool...but still. PURPLE!

  • @SilverMongooseVideos The American SNES was widely ridiculed for its purple colour scheme, which was probably as it is a girlish colour. Who knows why it looks different in the USA only?

  • @Vyxeria Yeah thats because European models were just like the Japanese Super Famicom, don't know why the hell we didn't get that design in North America.

  • @Vyxeria

But the U.S one was better than European one becuase games had no slowdown or huge borders around the screen like the 50hz PAL one did.

  • @Vyxeria Well, Ive had the same SNES system for 17-18 years, and it still works PERFECTLY, so I could care less about looks

  • @Vyxeria people say Americans are obnoxious :P

  • @Vyxeria The design ain't that bad.

  • @Vyxeria so did us australians had european ones woot woot

  • @Vyxeria Thats not fair!!!

  • @Vyxeria yh man the eu an japan snes are pretty sleek eh?

  • @SOUTHWESTENZ but id trade my nice looking snes for 60hz gameplay anyday!

  • @Vyxeria The Euro one's games run 17.5% slower than the US ones. HA!

  • @FetaCheese222 The US one is about 99% more fugly...

  • @Vyxeria the US ones looked awesome, and besides, you can always just paint on it to make it look cool.

  • @Vyxeria

No USA feels sorry for you since the PAL one was 50hz with aweful slowdown and huge border around the screen. Take that!

  • no kidding those controllers don't last as long plus they hard to find used in reasonable condition at pawn shops etc people never sell them! Nes controllers are easy and last forever!

  • ok

wait wait wat does the f doo? lol

  • do you neeed the rf out? i only have the nintendo cable ( the one for gAmecube 64 and snes)

  • @MegaTommy11 No. I've never even seen someone use an RF for a SNES.

  • whats better the regular snes or the mini snes

  • @DARKBLADENINJACLAN I don't have a SNES Jr. so I couldn't say.

  • @DARKBLADENINJACLAN i dont know the difrence but if i were you i would pick the regular beacause of ts clasics loks and it feels soft. LOL

  • @DARKBLADENINJACLAN Its no difference man, The mini snes is newer so i guess thats the one i prefer if you want a super nintendo. I like the original better. its big

  • @DARKBLADENINJACLAN

Hey i have owned the snes jr in the past (back to reguler snes for me) and well it does look appealing at first once you use it for a while the build quality doesn't feel as solid as the regular super NES. i also had problems booting up games and the jr doesn't have a red LED which really bugged me for some reason. There both great systems for sure, but like mongoose said, there's really no compelling reason to own the mini over the the original model.

    Hope I helped:)

  • Thanks for all the great tips SilverMongoose! I finally bought my SNES yesterday :-D. STARFOX MARATHON FTW! :-D

  • Does it have HDMI??????

  • It's funny. Most people I know who had SNES never used the eject button, but I always used the eject button, and I remember when I was little I used to think it was bad for the console to just yank the game out. lol, ah the good ol' days.

  • The snes was my first system.I sold my original one to buy a PS1 but now I have 2.

  • you're so cute!!!

  • Do you live near a busy street or something?...

  • @dennnis2781 Indeed I do.

  • @SilverMongooseVideos My all time favorite system... you might want to close the window or go to a noise proof room next time you do a review!...

  • @dennnis2781 Trust me, this is the best room for the reviews. It's frustrating but I do the best with what I can. Other rooms may be a bit quieter but the lighting and furniture pretty much prevent me from doing so. Maybe I'll try a small video in another room next time and see how it goes.

  • @dennnis2781 sega genesis was better

  • @shomosnicholas5 sega was crap, that's why their not in the gaming wars anymore!

  • @dennnis2781 sega isnt in consoles because of fucking peter moore. and if sega is so crap it has 5 of the top selling games.

  • @shomosnicholas5 Sega's 5 top selling games are only from those loyal Sega consumers in the past who wants Sega revived again. And what the hell does Peter Moore have anything to do with the gaming business..... don't worry pal, Microsoft consumers will join you shortly too once Sony dominates!

  • @dennnis2781 microsoft consumers?

god, fucking sony fanboy. 360 is doing fine, what new exclusive games does the ps3 have. whats its fututre, 360 has kinect. halo reach alan wake gow 3. plus xbox 360 is still 5 million units a head

  • @shomosnicholas5 STFU, dumbass... the kinect is a piece of crap, your dumbass can have fun with it playing and holding an imaginary gun looking like a tard' in front of your fat slob mother. You miss my point dumbass! X-Box is the one with EXCLUSIVE partnerships with ESPN and a couple other names because they don't want a import competitor dominating domestically dumb fuck!!! Did you soak all these info down your dumb, virgin head yet? Get back to me once you do....

  • @dennnis2781 1. Third party game companies are making guns for it. 2. It's better than move and wii.

    3. its a the only motion console on the market that didnt copy the wii

  • @shomosnicholas5 Sine you happen to respond to my comments without any profanity, I'll gladly just add-- at the end of the day we can disagree all we want, but all gaming companies are trying to get better and we'll eventually see which product is better.

  • @dennnis2781 What do you mean? "until sony dominates!" Yeah they dominated with the PS1 & PS2 but Nintendo is back on top and with the PS3 it dosen't look like it will be changing.

  • @campervan25 I use to be super loyal to Nintendo, but Sony's my new gig now! They're awesome!!! Trust me, I use to be so super loyal to Nintendo that I didn't even buy a PS1 and it took me 2 years after the PS2's launch to actually purchase one! I played both the Wii and PS3 already, the PS3 clearly is the winner in this generation's consoles!

  • Great vid, dude! SNES is still one of my fave systems of all time (next to the Dreamcast). ;-)

  • @VectorClash68 im a dreamcast fan too.

  • I'm surprised that nobody knows that the Super Nintendo also had an available s-video cable. Composite is leaps and bounds better than RF, but s-video is leaps and bounds better than composite. Unfortunately s-video is all but dead in modern TVs. It's a shame because s-video was almost as good as component.

  • hey my SNES powers on but all i get is a black screen everything is is hooked up right but i still get a black screen,

  • @bill842408 I don't know what to tell you, sorry. I don't fix systems.

  • @bill842408 try cleaning the pin connectors on your games with rubbing alcohal and q tips, should work like new after that

  • @bill842408 blow inside the cartridge and where you insert the cartridge, works all the time.

  • I'm European and I have a simple question:

    What the hell is RF??

I have both a NTSC and a PAL SNES but my pal snes doesn't have a rf out.Only a AV out and the power adaptor.

Also, just to mention my North American super nintendo works perfectly fine with my french tv so I guess (but I'm not sure) that a pal console would work with a north american TV (good way to play Terranigma)

BTW, your vids 're awesome :P
