  • Hi Robin!! My Husband and I made your Pork Tamales for our friends and it was a hit! Now we are going to try to make your easy flan recipe, and again, you make it look so easy!! Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful recipes!

  • Hi Robin Thanks so much for the tip of heating up the baking dishes....I make flan all the time but never thought of this....and yes, I end up with a lot of the caramelized sugar stuck on and left behind in the dish. Total waste and a pain to clean. I make my own Vanilla extract with vanilla beans soaked in either vodka or brandy for many months. Appreciate your great recipe series. Shine on and muchas gracias

Thanks for your comment! I forgot to mention that an easy way to clean the left over caramelized sugar is to fill the pan with water and boil it a few minutes and the sugar dissolves. Also with the dishes, just soak them a few in hot water. I like how you flavor your vanilla extract! Great idea.

    My best to you,

    Robin

  • @cookingmexicanrecipe Thanks. Actually I carmelize my sugar in a non-stick skillet so its easy to clean. Its the baking dishes that require a long soaking to get the stuck on syrup but sooo worth it ! There is nothing like a decadent flan. Shine on !
