There are different interpretations of the Quran, and hers is a progressive viewpoint. Which is similar to the vast majorities of Muslims. We do not decide who is a muslim or not, it is the person who decides.

Secondly, many of the scientists in Gundishapur were Greek refugees, who fled the Byzantine empire after Emperor Justinian closed the Academia in Athens, the Academia of Plato was nearly a thousand years old at the time! A democratic republic was begun in Athens in 508 BC, at the time of king Darius I.
Thirdly Alexandria had always had the greatest university of the ancient world.

Yes of couse! please read the books "our orental heritage", "the life of geece" and "the age o faith" by Will Durant. If you were not satisfyed, you could also read the sources Will Durant has metiond and used. Then think about all you've read, analyze them and draw well craftd conclusions...jus as a historian does!

Even prior to this, which occured in the last era (Achaemenid dynasty), the second era (Pahlavi era) of the Sassanid Empire more that 4300 diseases was cathegorized in a encyclopedia. - Read about it in the book "Medicine throughout Antiquity" by Benjamin Lee Gordon (ophthalmologist and medical historian).- Pre-Islamic Persia contributed vastly to science of its time!!!!!!

By reading the history of the ancient Persians, their way of life, the way they saw life and the world in general, and then analyzing them, you would come to the conclusion that the ancient Persian lifestyle saw no necessity for science...they were a people with a dislike for trade (they insisted on speaking the truth), and with a fondness for farming, training for war, and the nature...there was no big city in Persia itself, the affluent Persians mostly lived in the country...

the people of Athens expelled their last tyrannt in 510 BC, whereas the ancient persians accepted their inferiority against the “king of kings”. the expulsion of a king/tyrannt has never happened in Iranian history. Had it not been for that magnificent man, Cyrus the great, the persians would have stayed in the shadows for ever. You may regard Cyrus as a truly great and enlightened man (just as I do), but to say that the world owes a lot to ancient persia is utter rambling!
