  • people grow some please, its nothing... its the nature, mice are supposed to be eaten, and afraid all the time, which they are.

  • msg me if you still have any babys and also i thought you feed them roches

  • What a neat tarantula!

  • Nice!

  • zilla was a beautiful tarantula R.I.P

  • Man Zilla's gotten big

  • Oh shes what others call a Goliath Bird Eater?

    Theraphosa blondi :D

  • y cant u feed her frozen just asking

  • @1327177 I tried pre-killed, frozen and she wouldn't touch them...sucked!

  • @1327177

A tarantula wants something that is moving around and lively. You could have the whole cage full of dead/frozen food (though, you probably shouldn't :P) and the tarantula wouldn't show a sign of interest.

  • hello, my gf and I just bought ourselves tarantulas today on a whim. She bought a pink toe and i bought a salmon pink bird eater. The guy in the store said they are super easy to keep but im a bit nervous about the temperature. Temps are in the 60's in our house during the winter, and how much of a problem is hte humidity? The tanks have a paper towel in them that is used to provide humidity by keeping it moist. How often do i need to soak that? Should I mist them often?

  • @Pilot9r If there is any way to keep it a bit warmer, you should. The Pinktoe needs pretty high humidity and heat. Basically, set up a vertical tank with plenty to climb on, mist it every day or so, depending on your usual humidity, and try to find a warmer spot to keep her. For the Salmon Pink, just some dirt, a water dish and a hide. That temp should be fine for her. Salmon Pinks are very tough, and my personal favorite species. Pinktoes can be tricky, so just do your best. Good luck!

  • how do spiders eat ? i cant say i like spiders but in some weird way i always end up watching videos of them.. kinda weird but nice video , thx!

  • @Supralic1ous They basically turn their foods into liquid by injecting a special liquid and after that special liquid has done it's purpose, the Tarantula then sucks out the juices and liquids of it's prey.

  • @VaatiTheWindDemon cool , thank you :D

  • @Supralic1ous spiders inject enzymes into the prey that paralyze them and breakdown the tissue into a liquid, then they just drink them..like a juice box...lol

  • does feeding her right before mating her helps to prevent the male being eating from her?

  • @doublejayjones Yes it does!

  • @doublejayjones Lovely Jurassic Park quote.

  • I really do find it to be a shame. It is a crying shame that people like you have to apologize if they offend people because the people are watching something that they have no reason to be watching. Animals eat other animals and that is a cold hard fact. Another cold hard fact is that some animals will not eat anything other than live prey animals. A responsible pet owner will provide the foods that are best suited to their animals requirements as you have done here. Thank you!

  • srry i LOLed when the mouse was squirming to get away i am a mean person

  • When she is finished eating a mouse what is left?

    Is the mouse desiccated?

  • did zilla ever make an egg sack?

  • JURASSIC PARK!!!

  • Don't worry Robc :D I am not offended at all. Matter of fact, mammals is one of their food source in the wild :D

  • She's beautiful. I've been watching your videos for a few hours, me and my husband are looking to get a T for our son (...mainly for us, as our parents disliked anything that could be defined as "creepy crawly" when we still lived at home) sometime in the next year or so, and I'm getting an idea of what type we will get.

  • tarantulaguy1976 i think your an absolute legend lol if i saw tthat spider id run a fucking mile lol, but your a guy who deals witth it its soo cool, would love to start it as hobby but aint got a clue where to start ^^

  • it needs to eat what in needs to eat

  • Poor little mouse, but 'tis just the circle of life. It seems cruel, but it's exactly what happens in nature. Our own food involves far more cruelty than this, the cows & chickens that died so we could eat our McNuggets & Whoppers spent their entire lives basically crammed together, wallowing in their own shit & suffering before being inhumanely killed.

  • it doesn't want to be fed, it wants to hunt. Can't just... suppress 65 million years of gut instinct.

  • @MrRagingbovine Actuallly tarantulas do not hunt, the sit and wait for prey to come buy, they are AMBUSH predators.

  • @tarantulaguy1976 jurassic park quote. haha. mouse didnt stand a chance

  • @tarantulaguy1976 It's a movie line from "Jurassic Park"

  • Comment removed

  • @tarantulaguy1976 not sure if you missed it or not.. but that was a Jurrasic Park quote about the T-Rex.. lol

  • @Kazahmish the scene where they lure the t-rex with a goat on a leash lol love the movie

  • @tarantulaguy1976 wow did not know that, I thought actually some went out a looking, now that I think about it, my thoughts are kinda unfounded !

  • @MrRagingbovine tarantulas have been around a hell of a lot longer than that . that is when the dinosaurs went extinct

  • @heydiahrea have you ever seen jurrasic park?

  • @MrRagingbovine ahaha nice jurassic park reference

  • @MrRagingbovine Ten points for the Jurassic Park reference, however!

  • @MrRagingbovine a quote from jurassic park is it not? lol

  • @MrRagingbovine

haha actually fell of ma chair when i read that!!

  • @MrRagingbovine jurrasic park

  • Listen; it is not pleasant but they have to eat like everyone else. To the people who would say this is "abusive," they need to think about that as they sit down to eat their Big Mac. I can promise them that the death the cow that made that sandwich experienced was much more violent and terrible that this mouse! So; they need to get over it. This is providing sustenance that she needs just like everything else.

  • I've never seen a blonde 1 like that before! How much would a baby spider like that cost & how big are they when you sell them?

  • @hordichucj im pretty sure that mouse died real people eat meat I don't see a big difference here ya roaches are better I feed my girls bidders but when they need to eat they need to.

  • I bet a T blondie would eat a large emporer scorp... that thing just crushed the mouse like nothing... do EMps & blondie even live in same habitat?? i dont think so

  • I am not offended at all. Matter of fact, i love watching tarantulas fucking the shit out of little o mouse/mice. XD LMFAO!!

  • :O you killed micky mouse lololol im telling minnie xxx

  • Great video! I get excited watching my Desert Blonde feed. It's the anticipation and watching her strike lightning fast!

  • theres hundreds of millions of mice in the world i dont see why people get so offended it takes them like 2 weeks to reproduce ,im not sure but its something like that

  • how much larger is T Blondie then? L Parahybana? can you keep T blondie in 70 degree temperatures? like L P

  • @ultum4tegunz Blondi is a bit more heavy but there are repots of LP getting same size. I would keep a Blondi under 75-78....mid 80's is best.

  • live feedings arnt necessary for 1 reason that beats all others, in the UK its illegal to feed invertabrates mice or small rodents, because in the words of the british tarantula society 'it is cruel and unnecessary whereas a reptile can kill quickly and require rodents, arachnids of any size fare well on just crickets. oldest T organisation in the western hemisphere at least.

  • @hordichuck I have stated that but in thisd 98nstance I was breeding here the following day and wanted her very full...but I 100% disagree with your cricket therory LOL!! Crickets are 90% water.....wich hold no nutrients...B. dubia are 100% better and I Feed all my T's Dubia. I fed her a mouse 1X in the time I owned her.

  • @tarantulaguy1976 humans are 80 water dude whats your point? trust me. any t could survive on crickets alone. and you can take that to the bank.

  • @hordichuck Not saying they couldn't....but dubias are much better.....crickets hold there stomach contents for about 3-4 hours....dubia hold theres for 48 hours so gut loading is much better. Humans are 80% water.....do you eat them??? I certainly hope not ;)

  • your tarantula changes colors? sorry i know nothing of bugs lol..

  • Hey tarantulagiy1976. I LOVE your T feeding vids! I am going to get a tarantula in a little one. Im getting a MeXICAN Red kneed t. Love those ts!

  • In all honesty I feed my Goliath mice, but I buy them at a reptile store that breeds them soley for the purpose of being eaten. If you buy at petsmart or some other pet store yeah they're treated with antibiotics and that's going to screw with your T. You just got to be careful from where you buy them. In my opinion it's better than catching something like a bug in your backyard where it's been exposed to all the pesticides. But everyone likes their own way. Still a beautiful tarantula kudos man

  • This is great, In most video's like this the mouse struggles for like 30 seconds, Zilla was just so big and dominated it and barlet moved!

  • Can i just say that YOU KICK ASS! I would love to own tarantulas and have a roach colony!

  • @squeeze55

    then life your dream! :)

  • Is there an advantage to LIVE feedings over buying already dead rodents?

  • @melissahburt Neither actually...mice are bad for them...I only did this to fill her up quickly before a breeding.

  • I have some serious misspellings on my last post lol!

  • @Tarantulamannc I hear myes intuit room with a heater and it had a in the wall humidifier on thermostats/rehostats. The roaches I use are B.dubia witch are very easy to breed and are the best feeder there is. 2 riches are basically equivalent to 10 crickets in nutrition terms.

  • Well bro that definitely makes since about the difference between wild rodents and captive rodents. Thanks for the great advice! By the way what Roach is the easiest to breed and keep for T's? I have 19 T's ATM and crickets don't seem as filling as those big roaches you feed yours. Do you sell Roaches and T's? I have a female T.burgundy coming Tues from Paul Becker. What do you use for heat? I would like to keep my girl in a nice tank instead of Rubbermaid's like my other T's are in.

  • Nice video bro, I love your T's and your videos and your enclosures! Awesome job!

I personally feed my T's Crickets ATM but I'm going to try Roaches and occasional mice for my T.Burgundy. I don't agree with the guys that speak so harsh against rodents for dinner. In the wild it's a main course for many Terrestrial T's. I believe in a healthy variety personally. I'm not an expert but nor is the average T owner. Again I love your T's!!!

  • @TarantulamanNC Thanks man!! UI wouldn't feed mice.....I have had 4 T's have bad molts all were fed mice....here is the difference. Mice in the wild do not get treated with antibiotics and are not kept in a bedding that has chemicals. I am just letting you know. I only fed this T a mouse so I could fill her up fast for breeding!!

  • @TarantulamanNC

my roach s are not doing to well Rob any ideas i have them set up like your vid and they were breeding fine for about 5 months and now they are allmost all dead

  • @Minotaurtank that it's very true, this was to feed her up before a breeding session

  • ive heard feedign ant T. a rodent can contain to much calcium, is this just a treat?

  • Got yourself a supersize tarantula there! What species?

  • @Bigweave74 Zilla was a T sp "Burgandy"

  • nice to see you change up the menu for your Ts ever now and then

  • after that meal, how many weeks will you feed her again? :D

  • Its always eerie watching an invert eat a vert esp a mammal.

  • The same people who would complain about a spider eating a mouse would think nothing of putting out rat poison to kill one of the filthy buggers.

    Ironic.

At least the spider got dinner out of the deal.

  • Too all those who are against this, this happens over a thousand times a day in the wild. If he fed Zilla a grasshopper, I bet none of you would of batted an eyelash if he fed her a Cricket but when it is something cute and furry you think it is wrong?. Get over yourselves.

  • did u ever get that sack u been praying 4

  • he slips whith it in his room so do i in my house

  • wow shes smaller there than other vids but the good old gal is with sammy now

  • does a t.blondi's moulting have a schedule? because her coat here is definitely different from her other vids. and btw, which is a more nutritious snack for a blondi, a bird, a mouse, or insects (dubias or beetles of the same size) ?

  • @Haru00RhenjinyES THEY DO!! FEEDING MICE/BIRDS ARE VERY BAD FOR THEW t, ONLY TIME I9 WOULD DO IT IS TO FEED THEM A BIG MEAL BEFORE MATING OTHER THAN THAT IT IS STRICTLY B. DUBIA (SORRY FOR THE CAPS LOL!)

  • this is disgusting :S

  • Awww. This was back when Zilla was still little(ish).

  • @AnObeseAardvark she was about 9"

  • @tarantulaguy1976 Oh, my bad, she looked a lot smaller to me for some reason. Still a cutie.

  • hey rob nice to see some one feeding live mice the proper way nice vid

  • @TacticDj I posted this too show others how it should be done.

  • @TacticDj bro he's showing how it's done stop being a dick, great job ROB

  • awesome vid rob! i take your word on a tarantula over anybodys anyday keep em comin!!

  • lol she is be aggressive cause she's trying to eat silly! and that feeding isn't as bad as a snake feeding i LOVE mice so feeding my snake was always hard... very nice color on her in this vid... yet again any female gets aggressive during a meal if your messing with her lol :) great vid

  • @RoseOniel I have to say what are you talking about??? How am I messing with her???? I never once said she was aggressive LOL!! she was the most docile T I had!

  • @tarantulaguy1976 well you said in the video that she was acting agressive or "agrovated" i was just trying to make a joke that if you mess with a girl at meal time she will be annoyed. and yes she was a very gental spider... sorta cured my fear of spiders lol. Great vid. and yet again just tring to make a cheezy joke sorry :)

  • @tarantulaguy1976 are many T.Blondi's so docile like Zilla?

  • how do you know when a tarantula is full i have no clue

  • How did you get that name TARANTULAGUY1976 with a sign?

Im a first timer so... getting a Red knee.. Brachypelma Smithi...

so im going to create a spider youtube account so i just

wanna know how u got that name.... well nice videos and i love youre spider "Zilla"..

  • thats weird. she was grey in the other video.

  • @LuckyIzzy659 That is because the farther they get into there molt cycle they change color (exco is weraing out). So when she is freshly molted she is almost black!

  • why do you have to have her eat a mouse only twice a year? why not give her a roach?

  • @LuckyIzzy659 I need to fill her up quickly, she can eat 15-20 roaches, but it would take several feedings. I was about to breed her and needed her full so she did not eat the male.

  • @tarantulaguy1976 how do you get these spiders??

  • @LuckyIif your from places like newfoundland (Like me ) you can only get 1 kind but most pet shops have them.. : D

  • @LuckyIzzy659: I get them from various online breeders.

  • @tarantulaguy1976 So in a sense she's very similar to human women? :rimshot:

  • I love your pets and Vids man Great hobby.

  • how could you D:

Im trying to get over my fear of acracnaphobia and i didnt know this was a feeding , but WHY a litle ALIVE mouse , why no a dead one ;'(

  • @MelMakeup I stated that in the vid, I hate it to...I do not enjoy this at all...she would not eat pre-killed.

  • @jakdask8tr The father she was into her molt cycle the lighter they get, when freshly molted they are almost black!

  • Rest in peace Zilla

  • I second that. I am sick of snake/spider eats mouse/rat/gerbil/hamster/domestic pet videos where the owner is laughing, and there is terrible metal music in the background. Thanks for showing the little guy some respect.

  • @rachearoo456 I agree, the only reason I filmed it was to show how to properly do it, the mouse should suffer as least as possible, Zilla did end it quickly.....I don't do this hardly at all but when I do I do not like it.

  • @tarantulaguy1976 hey rob u know how when a tarantula eats a cricket or a roach it leaves behind a crunchy shell well what does it leave behing when it eats a mouse?

  • @rachearoo456 go cry about it pussy

  • Comment removed

  • @bihrider - Why? It's a good video. The owner doesn't have crappy metal playing in the background and offers commentary on live feedings. He's not being cruel or playing up the death of the mouse as entertainment.

  • @bihrider bitch ps

  • @rachearoo456 Why do you watch the videos then? Also, stuff like that happens in nature all the time. What's next? You're gonna cry because a lion killed a water buffalo?

  • @rachearoo456 so agreed with you... those types of authors are the stupidest assholes on this earth... hope they die a slow and painfull death..

  • @rachearoo456 So if they were playing pop or some shit like that it would be okay right?

  • @pieheadguy I don't think she was really insulting metal music in general, I think she was insulting the douchebags who think that listening to metal & having a pet that requires live food somehow makes them 'cool'.

  • @rachearoo456 That's the difference between videos made by immature idiots who get a kick out of dying/torturing animals, and professionals. I completely agree with you.

  • @rachearoo456 no shit cant stand that

  • @rachearoo456 well there is no terrible music in the background and the owner is not laughing. So thats kinda rude that you just come and trash someone's video. ---.---

  • @jamiesalas55

    rachearoo456 wasn't trashing this video.

They meant other videos are like that and this one isn't.

    :-)

  • Live feeding is something we more-often-than-not have no choice in when it comes to spiders (and some snakes). I severely miss my spiders since moving to Japan, and if you talk to most respecting hobbyists, live feeding isn't something we do just for the pleasure of watching one thing eat another. It's the simple circle of live, and is no different than watching a garden spider chewing up a cricket. I'm sure that most homeowners that have roach problems would have no qualms watching roaches die

  • @YamaBushi74

Can you not buy some in big japan? i though there would be T's avaible too?

  • :( i love all animals poor mouse but i guess its the way things are mad respect rob atleast your not one of them assholes who laugh at the mouse

  • @MrLOLsteveLOL I hated doing it, it sucks but sometimes it has to be done.....but NEVEr for pleasure...that is sick and twisted!

  • wow that is 1 big muva fks spinner

  • How is Zilla doing now Rob hope she is ok

  • @padmdhs she is about to molt so we will see.

  • Hey Rob, there was a comment regarding your Regalis (the one with the bad molt) that mentioned too much calcium was to blame.

Do you then have to feed your T Blondi (ZILLA) a fair amount of crickets, roaches etc and only occasionaly mice?

  • @donward I only fed Zilla this mouse to quickly fill her up before a mating. I do have some bad news it seems as though Zilla has a buldge in her abdomen wich would mean a ulcer or a cyst....I do not know if she will survive another molt :(

  • @tarantulaguy1976 My sympathies man, my daughter Saoírse's Siberian Hamster had to be put out of its misery today due to a cancerous growth on the inside leg which consumed her. Tomorrow is the funeral. :-(

    RIP Sinead the hamster.

On a happier note, the guy in the petshop replaced it for her and I managed to rescue two female Ball (Royal) Pythons and male Boa Constrictor, whom are our new additions to our rapidly expanding family!

Let us know how she gets on. Is this common or rare in Ts?

  • @donward I am so sorry my friend :( It is not very common but it seems to only happen to VERY large T['s, well I noticed that Zilla is turning dark so we will see.

  • @tarantulaguy1976 Good luck with it dude. If you get a chance, can you post some pics?

  • @tarantulaguy1976 Is this common or rare in Ts? I've never come across it before.

  • @tarantulaguy1976 Im shocked and saddened to hear that. do you have any theries on why that would happen?

  • @d006las It could have been a fall or just bad luck, I am prepared to do surgery if I have to!

  • do spiders have brains?

  • @oneofussgoes No threy do not, not classified as a brain.

  • I have a rosehair and she's just molted maybe a week or two ago. I've tried giving her a pinky (it would be no bigger than her abdomen) 2x in the past 2 yrs and she's showing no interest whatsoever. Right now she's just spoiled on crickets and crickets alone. Any suggestions? I mean she literally protects the pinky when it's in her cage

  • @EternalE333 I still wouldn't feed her pinkies unless it is beforte a breeding, I would try B. dubia roaches!!

  • Hey beautiful T you've got there and very interesting video :D

  • my chilean rose while kick zilla ass all day long :) JOKE zilla is like the king of spideys

  • lol wow that mouse is 4.5 inches and it seems so small to zilla.....she is huge

  • rob, does the mouse had a short death, i love youre T but i just wanted to know, the poison must prove fatal to the mouse

  • @Chicndip1996 Very quickly I hope, I do not like feeding her mouse because I actually feel horrible for the mouse.

  • @tarantulaguy1976 me too wen i feed my lizard poor mouse but thats life

  • @tarantulaguy1976 i wouldn't recommend keeping snakes then. hahaha. i go through bout 20 mice/rats a month with the snakes i have.

  • @Chicndip1996 Very quickly!!

  • id rather the mouse eat the trantula. lol i hateeee spiderss

  • Zilla is an amazing T rob id love to get a blondie in the future :P for now i think im guna stick to my irminias and pokies and sutch :P gotta love em

  • i rather have a taratula running aroound the house catching mice instead of cats

  • awesome video! do yuo sell them?

  • @squirrelkiller247 there's something wrong with you, seek help

  • @squirrelkiller247 yes he does from what i know, btw how much do you sell slingers for because im thinking bout getting one from watching all your vids and i feel i can at least take care of a small docile sling :) plz pm me back if you wish to rob you are an incredible guy and i hope that you hobby lives on your whole entire life :)

  • Bon appetit =)

  • what a beautiful T never thought they could eat a mouse though impressive :o

  • Holy shit... Its big enough to eat a mice... Thats a big thing...

  • spiders scare the hell out of me (specialy the brown house spider) but watching the videos of tarantula guy gives me more info on how to deal with this cratures from hell

    tnx tarantula guy

  • such bright colours, i never knew a taranchula could have such a collection of colours

  • I have only just discovered rob about a month ago, but i have seen many of his videos, and have learned a lot from watching them! I would totally back him up as well! He is very careful with his babies, and treats them with the utmost respect. He is never harmful to them, nor does he ever do anything that could hurt them in any way. He is very informative, and yes, very respected in the trade! Rob, you have me in your corner as well, dude! You're awesome!

  • Thank you my friend!! I very much appreciate!!
