I think they should be the ones helping to shape policy, but the reality is that it is made based on a random collection of religious ideas (that come as a package deal) and economic theories that usually do not meet the scientific standard. and ofcourse the self-interest of special groups masked as collective interests. these guys could make an enormous improvement. and the only...

... reason most people are against utalitatianism is because they leave the negative effects they foresee out of the equation. that is how you get terrible results. serious question: why do you think harris and greene are crackpots? and where do you derive morality from?
