Stannis once endured a year long siege in his castle where he chose to eat rats rather than surrender. The person who smuggled food in the castle & saved him was called Davos. He cut off Davos's fingers for smuggling and than made him a knight. Stannis is the Iron hammer of justice... U get what u deserve. And Robert was the steel

@fl333r I love Stannis, he is a man who could bring justice to all the realm, but many lords do not want to atone for their sins... so a man of pure justice like Stannis does not have many friends, but than again: he is the Maester of sea (the navy) of the kingdom, and he has a large harbor (Dragonstone) next to the capital. He's a proven battle commander and has a large naval power. As he says in the video... They will bend the knee or Stannis will destroy them : ) perhaps. no spoilers.

Renly was to weak to do this job and Stannis saw his home and his rights being taken away and given to his younger brother Renly. and now Renly is trying to take his crown from him again. Stannis is a great hero, but people don't want him as king cause they fear him. Renly rules with love, Stannis Fear, Tywin Gold, Robb = Honor. Only 1 will live though, Love this show.

Hence the anciet Stark(warden of the North) code: "Winter is Coming" for they only come doing winter. The 3 horn blasts has NOTHING to do with the war of the Clash of the Kings. It is completely on its own plot.
