  • When your making a video like this, please make it serious, instead of the random music please I wanted to listen to it.

  • lol, siouxicide, the sioux deffinetly make suicide and drinking an ART.

  • All they need is love and sombody to lead the way...teach by example...it has to start somewhere.. most people are so wasted on the idea of making an effort because they cant see the light at the end of the tunnel..im 26, pretty young, no children..I KNOW what needs to be and can be done with a little funding...i hate the idea of currency, but it is a necessity to most it seems. I would open up an arcade and operate it myself everyday to play big bro to those without...Be that positive force...

  • @211stylez That is great that you want to do something positive to help the kids! All kids, I think especially teens, need lots of love and good role models. Do you mean a video arcade? As a Mom, I'm not crazy about that idea. I know kids, especially boys, love that stuff. I feel a lot of the games are too violent. Have you thought about Horse Therapy? There is a program on the Spirit Lake Rez in No. Dakota for juv. offenders.

  • @211stylez Why not start a program BEFORE the kids get into trouble with drinking, drugging, etc.? Are the Crips and Bloods on the Rosebud? I heard they are at Pine Ridge. Is that true? I hope not.

  • Im from parmelee on the rosebud reservation. i lost 12 of my frenz..including 3 of my closest friends and my baby sister...to suicide or drunk driving on the rez..and most of em during the time just before the newscast. bad spirits.

  • @211stylez -I'm so sorry to hear that you have experienced so much heartache in your life already. When I was up your way last summer, I talked with a young woman who said that she felt like she was in a concentration camp. I was so stunned, I couldn't even reply. It has haunted me ever since. What do YOU think we adults need to do to change this situation? I'm white. I have 2 young adult children. I know how difficult the teen years can be, even if there is no poverty.

  • u know I used to be suicidal I always wanted to die when I was a teen and it was because I wanted my mom to be there more and just for someone to listen and hear me out or just hug me u know, and I started doing drugs after everyone started noticeing the cuts u know cuz I got emberressed but I came out of it after I had my first baby and when I think about why I wanted to kill myself when I was younger and it was little things that could of been fixed but parents b there give TLC and attention

  • what about some deal with some organization from other rich country... FInland , Denmark, Germany..I think the most important tihng its education.

  • i grew up on the rez and know the truth in this its heart breaking

  • This moved me to tears. The photo's of the kids lying dead and alone was heartbreaking. I'm not Indian nor do I even live in the U.S, but I wish I could reach out to these kids who "feel hopeless" and hug them close to me, I wish I could make each one of them see that they're special and important.

  • This is one, and the most cruel, of the consequences for the awful conditions facing the people on Pine Ridge.

Please, take the time to call the White House or message Mr.Obama.

Tell him the Oglala Sioux Tribe Declared a State of Emergency on Suicide on December 11 2009.

Remind him of the promises that he has made to the First Nations/Native American people.

    Promises waiting to be fulfilled..

But be kind. Kindness is more impressing than aggressiveness..

A Gandhi rule that won an Empire..^_^

  • America is sliding downhill fast. Are our Native brothers the "Canaries in the coal mine"?

Thank you for posting this, Sintegleskautube. I would love to know if there were any changes introduced into the community, lifestyle, etc. in the 2 or 3 years leading up the the break-out of these suicides.

And if so, what were they?

  • America has a dominant culture that puts materiality as the measure of success and importance ahead of everything else. The kids FEEL it. And for the very poor, the denigration and pain is alot to bear. It's sad. If we are the expression of God, then God is dying without hope.

  • that was very profound and touching. my heart is with you

  • This video is one of the most heartbraking creations i have ever watched....no dry eyes here... When our youth gets this hopeless what does the future of this world look like? I remember J.Trudells words from the poem "how does tomorrow dream"..he says "we´re killing our children..." Young ppl need hope and joy...this world we are leaving to them doesnt appeal...it seems hopeless... the sorrow of those mothers..

I can only pray..peace and love and hope..

  • Thank you for the prayers. We need it here. 3 more suicides in the last two weeks, at least the ones I know of.

  • There must be a better solution somewhere, people should not lose so much hope that their only way out is to commit suicide.

It is not help that is needed here I feel, but direction and hope. I am aiming this squarely at the politicians who seem to avail themselves to no one but the pit of their own ignorance.

Things can be better, lives can improve, but they must improve from all angles. One person, one group will not change this.

It needs directly challenging and most of all acceptance.

  • I'm cherokee, not lakota..but I feel so inspired by these ppl...the lakota are an amazing tribe...they have been real survivors.. were the last to give in to the gov't.... it hurts to see natives, once so rich and prosperous, reduced to so much hurt. After I finish my medical degree, I want to work on a reservation, and instead of my own (cherokee in OK), I really want to go to SD. I wish more ppl knew about the Lakota and would reach out to help them and all natives.

  • suicide is disturbing period. may God continue to protect us all. this is awful.

  • Wado..thank you very much for this. I know we all wish there was more that could be done to better situations on each reservation. Keep praying.

  • They were very beautyful...everyone of them....

  • RIP my cuzzin S.B. Whirlwind soldier

  • Did something change between 2005-2006? Anything at all?

  • i want to do something about this i have seeing my relitives doing this cuz it is not right i love every one so im gonna try and help

  • its a harsh rweality that things this awful happen to the spirit of tomorrow

  • A very important subject overshadowed by bad editing here. Don't try to put so much MTV into this, it is too over the top.

  • sorry you don't like. most do. why don't you make one kola instead of leaving negative comments? get the word out

  • my heart aches. for every one of them. I didn't know any of them but I cry when one of my brothers or sisters feels there is nothing felt and takes the journey before their time. Something needs to happen.

  • May the Creator forgive us.We have not taken care of our most precious possessions.OUR CHILDREN.Our Rez are forgotten and the gov takes care of outsiders.

  • I save ya... not now but in the future. you see...

  • btw Pine-ridge rez is on AL-Jazeera TV. its getting pretty harsh.

  • But I am sure there is hope ahead; eurocentric oppressive society has to wake up and realize what it`s doing.

We all need to come together and take each others hands, to learn. To save our common future and the future of our children and all beings on this planet.

  • The reporting women made me cry.

  • To those people is on the all the Reservations in the U.S., Keep your head. We still love you.

  • Very sad indeed. I believe that they are doing this because no money. living on a reservation. Knowing that the land is destroyed. Knowing that they have no voice. But they do have a voice. Now the ones that died won't be heared again. Lets love our children and give them everything that they need. We as the first nation people that needs to unite one another to form alliances with each families. We don't need this teen suicide to continue.
