Cause I'm not a fan of stacked beams...

Simple. Hypermode is not in Metroid prime and I know for a fact that you can switch beams. My closest guess is using the + button in a similar way you do the - button for visor selection.

Oh, like a toggle mode. Against prime though... thats not the best option. I'd get confused and be switchin beams so quick i'd miss it!

Its the + button. I found out in another video. You can make it the - button if you want. And you'd get used to switching beam weapons to the point that you can switch as fast as you can with the GC controller's d-pad.
