@thegreeninferno Ahhhh! LOL! I think Reagan was a governor or semi-retired Hollywood actor? I think you're right. Either way, they both did NOTHING for that part of the U.S. of A. Poor Carter, weak as water.
Led Zeppelin played six nights at Madison Square Garden on June 7, 8, 10, 11, 13 and 14 in 1977 as well. Actually this was a prime summer for concerts at the Garden but the six Zeppelin shows were the highlights. I saw the last three and the top scalper price I paid for seats on the floor were $40.00 a piece. I think the actual price on the ticket was $10.50. Those were the days...
Didn't then US president Richard M. Nixon or was it Ronald Reagan visit the Bronx community and made promises to change it for the better and never did?
I can see why you would think it would be nice to continue with the second half, but in reality the second half wasn't much of a continuation and focused more on the reporter and her mom.
As do I. Current incarnation lacks edge, soul. I adore the old Times Square. I deplore New York today. Like cancer. As I miss the real NYC, I suppose I should move to Florida with the rest of us natives. ;P
@NYPRBLUE I feel you, man! Those days were rockin'!! Hanging out in TS back in the '70s was the coolest trip ever. I hate what they did to it now--disneyfied pussy-ass bullshit!! Honestly , NYC lost all it's cool, it's soul, it's style--now it's an empty shell of it's former self: it's just a fuckin' name on a map!

I was 5, my husband remembers the chaotic summer of '77 though. As crappy as it was, he oddly talks about it fondly!
