I feel this film was really one for the fans of the comic books - it's not the most accessible film if you have no knowledge of the background story. Also there are a large number of 'in jokes' which i found less then half the audience got.

Still having said all that I loved the film!

Kinda wondering if you saw the movie. You gave 1 reason that you didn't like the movie: it doesn't develop.

That's kinda true to a point. You get the plot like 20 mins in and he follows through with it. But you stopped there. How about the music? It didn't take it from some hugely popular band at the time. How about the looks? You took a brief comment on that it looked like a video game. That's about it. How about how it had style that movies have been lacking since FOREVER!

I haven't read any of the books, except for the teasers you get from the site. However, this being said I realize that the movie is BASED of of the comics. You realize that there are over 6 comics? To try and fit all of them into one movie isn't necessarily going to go over perfectly. I loved this movie, love what comics I've seen, and love the game. And with all, I take them with a grain of salt, realizing that both the movie and game are BASED on the comics, NOT remakes.

I'm still looking forward to the film. From the looks of it, it may appeal more by its visual style and creative fight scenes. It looks innovative, fun, and hip all at the same time. And Edgar Wright is a personal favorite filmmaker of mine, knowing he's always made something new and engaging. He's known for his strange choice of cut aways and swift zooms. That's what makes his films different and fresh to watch. However, the film may just turn into a cult classic and become underrated.

U cnt jus go into a theater and expect 2 b absolutly WOW'd by Scoot Pilgrim vs the World: the movie. U hav 2 read all of the books 1st. Tht is probably the only way someone will actually be jus wow'd by this film. Character development and all tht lot are taken care of in the novels.

@moesamuri that was my issue. They take out a TON of character and development. Wright was perfect to direct this, no doubt. But I really had issues with Cera as Scott. Scott Pilgrim knows he's the coolest guy ever; Cera never acts with confidence.

@thegmanofEAP Nt nessesarly. In the book Scott is probably the most unconfident person u'll ever meet in the 1st couple of books. He's nervous all of the time, he's very ackward is stressful situations, plus he panics. A LOT! Scott doesnt actiually start to gain any selfconfidence 'till the end of the 5 book, Then he loses it ( XD )and gets it again in the middle of the 6th 1. Theycasted Scott perfectly in this film, 2 b honsest Mike Cera is actually lik a carbon copy of Scott's personality.
