  • You can also take pre-built city or your own and play them in sim copter. :)

  • The formula was definitely perfected in this version IMO. Plus it had a good dose of humour.

  • "realistic" my ass.

  • I still got it to this day. Of course I was lucky enough to get the special edition. Right now I'm searching YouTube on where downloads of SM3000 & 4000.

    Death to SimCIty Socities!

  • lol, high powered computers

  • Holy Faq 256 color graphics !!!!!

  • lol i have this game and i running it on vista

  • good

  • SimCity 2000 takes city planning to a new level of realism that pushes the limits of the day before yesterday's high powered computers.

  • This game is still one of the best in the lineup to be honest. I wish they would rerelease a remastered edition without taking away the original charm.

  • I agree, would look real good

  • they did its called simcity 4..simcity socities shit tho

  • I used to have this game, and I absolutely loved it. It was my favourite game for a long time. Unfortunately, I lost it when my computer had to get rebooted.

  • still luv that game,

even it is old (like unreal)

  • 0:47

    Oh look, it's Will Wright.

  • This looks like it must have run on video kiosks in computer software stores rather than on actual television, right?

  • It's actually from an old computer program known as the Maxis CD-ROM Sampler.

  • i still play it

  • the simcity game i miss now

    SIMCITY 2000

    ---

the simcity games i have now

    SIMCITY 3000 =)

    SIMCITY 4 DELUXE =D

    SIMCITY CREATOR =(

    SIMCITY SOCIETIES DELUXE =S

  • lol this brings back memories, 90's commercials were so cheesy

  • I miss this game...so...fucking...much...

  • "...that pushes the limits of today's high-powered computers."

I really think that that was the #1 goal that Maxis had, for all the Simcity titles. Let me tell you, when I got 3000, I had to wait 2 years before I could play it much. Now I have simcity 4, and on my brand new computer that I play FLIGHT SIMULATOR X on, (with medium-high graphics!) the 5-year-old game still sometimes has performance issues with large cities!!

If there's ever another "true" sequel, you'll need a supercomputer...

  • I agree but the latest fully 3D fledged simcity games dont impress me. The classics can never replaced. (including simcity 4)

  • @Yonkage Sim City 4 is odd in it's needs, my modern quad core with an 8800GTX does not run it very well at all but my 2.4ghz K7 with a 6800GT runs it flawlessly with all settings at max.

There is just something about newer architecture that does not agree with sim city 4, not to mention it can only use one processor anyway.

  • he's got a point, i always wanted to move into my own cities .. they were dope as hell

  • Lol, Simsational.

  • i have the demo and its alright.

lol, good thing we live in the modern technological era we are in today. and good thing we have sim city 4!

  • I still reckon simcity 2000 will still push the limits of some of todays high powered computers.;)

  • I like how much this ad emphasised the graphics. xD
