Jeeks Aussie has some hot riders right now, Crump, Holder, Ward and Watt, is it any wonder Pool won! As for the show above I'd like to think Tiff would have a little more respect for speedway now, but somehow I doubt it.
A bikes speed is dictated by the size of the track and the interchangable sprokets on the rear wheel and engine block, when I used to ride in the 70s most tracks were over 400 yards where you enetered the corners at about 70 to 75 mph and the fasted ever recorded back then was at Crewe with an Average speed of 55 mph and don't forget thats an average speed ! Crewe was a big banked fantastic track with railway sleepers for the safety fence, no brakes and balls of steel
I actually asked Jason Crump in the pits and Belle Vue. How fast are these bikes, and he actually said "Fast, faster than a track car around this track" Not been to a speedway race in so long lol.

No they don't... I grew up around speedway bikes, and I know a sprintcar would eat them alive. A sprintcar would be much too powerful for a little UK track though.
I raced against his dad Phil Crump in the seventies at Crewe speedway, now that was an awsome track ! High banking and railway sleepers as the safety fence, no airfences in those day, you really did need balls of steel then and mine have been well battered !! OW! by the way ? I never beat him, he was the King of Crewe which was apt, as they were called Crewe Kings
Cheshiredancer, I have only been into Speedway for a couple of seasons now, but love going to see the Glasgow Tigers at Ashfield on Sundays. I have also been to the SGP this year in Cardiff, Wolfslake in Berlin and Somerset for the PL Pairs...
It truely is the best sport in the world and the fans are the best people.
Cheers mate, If you ever come to Glasgow, I'll buy you a pint at Ashfield *;o)
I was at Cardiff too, block M33 first bend , Crump was awsome, it's a shame you never saw the old tracks of the 70s most over 400 yrds very fast, but the most spectacular (apart from the old Belle Vue) was Crewe ! big banked very fast with rialway sleepers as the safety fence ! but amazingly enough because of the banking it was hard to get up to the fence, but the momentum gained in to each corner was fantastic, but if I ever won the Euromillions I would re-build the old Belle Vue , cheers
Also Jason Crumps dad used to race at Crewe Phil and he was the master ! no one could touch him, I feel sad to think back that these great old tracks have gone, the only ones to compare are the Polish tracks big and fast, look at the lines they take to pass on a big track, you still can't beat it .
Your comments 'lick balls'. Instead of leaving meaningless criticism why dont you go and watch a video of the powerpuff girls and leave your pathetic remarks there. Speedway is the best sport around :D

let me guess when you say speedway your talking about seal track speedway. commen the USA. i was meaning full size dirt track speedway like Australia NZ and the dirt trackes of the US have. where you see midgets, TQ, Sprintscars, Mini sprints, saloons classes and the stockcar classes (not nascar) race.
Jason crump, may I just say that you my friend are a fucking machine.

why tracks in england are so short???
xfan1905 5 months ago

Lack of space probably but there are a few longer tracks, like Peterborough and Isle of Wight.

people always put speedway down but it one of the fasted and deadlest sports and the riders aren't getting as much as football players

I used to go to SW in the days or the leg trailers I though it made for closer racing and foot foward took alot from the sport when introduced.
