  • @bgpobeda namely your Bulgarian nation is almost older than the planet !!!

  • genial me gusto mucho

  • Ancient bulgarian ritual NESTINARI is part of New years celabrations KOLEDA , SURVA , KUKERI and NESTINARI comes from deep history Here no Balkans and Anatolia We the most Big ethnitical population of this area and keep bulgarn traditions more from 200 000years by to day.

    "Internet will kill the devil"

    Bulgar - Bulgar!

  • that is not only trachian but the same traditon was also spread in persia and india so don't be so sure that it passed to bulgarians form byzantium

  • Oh jesus.......you guys are great...you now.

First, the word nastenari, comes from anastenaria, which paraphrases the greek word anastenagmos, which is stenagmos + ana (meaning re in latin)...sort of a remourning, mourning someone yet one more time. Anastenari isnt neither greek not bulgarian nor even christian, is an ancient thracian custom that was adopted by ancient greeks, then passed on to christianity, byzantium and then to bulgarians

  • Actually no. Greeks still cant realize, that bulgarian and greek languages both are indoeuropean, like the most of the european languages and becouse of that many words have common origin. This origin is common, idoeuropean, not greek. Its like the serbs, thy say that croats and bosnians speak serbian - bullshits, they speak COMMON southwest slavic language. Do you know, that there are many theories about the bulgarian origin of the word NESTINARI

  • a 100 years ago in the same place where you celebrate this in bulgaria there used to live greeks and they used to sing in greek , even if you read the text to the right its full of bulgarized greek words :-)

  • Actually Thracians lived there. Its a Thracian tradition. By the way the Thracians used the Greek alphabet for lack of their own, still this doesnt make them Greek.

  • Greek traditional songs , which are bulgarized :D hahahahahaha ... do you believe in your own bullcrap :D u made my day at least hah.. !!

  • not exactly, skipseglipse, it's more complex than this, and i am saying it cause my roots are from that region of bulgaria where this tradition is spread over. in greece you have this only in the northern part, but this was a thracian teritory for millennia. in the south where there were greeks it's nothing like this.

  • yes, the word is a bulgarized greek and in strandzha dialect there are many greek wards, but the reasons are not easy to explane in a short text

  • in this epoch people were moving more than we can imagine, many of them who head animals were traveling to adriatic costs the so called "thracian see" in the summer and came back in the winter like my grandfather for example, so there was a mixture of language and we still call the pillow proskefalo and many other things still have a greek name. however it's a definitely a thracian tradition.

  • please. what is the name of musicians.

Ancient Thracians were Bulgarians! Greeks are just very arrogant thieves of foreign history and culture.

  • We speak bulgaro-slavian or.. bulgaro-slavic i dont know how you called theese days.. maybe in the language of proto-bulgarians was the letter "THITA" "malaka".

  • crete- cyprous - ionia- thraki - ipiros - makedonia - thessalia- peloponessos-agean sea- ionian islands-were are and will be place of greece .. in ancient times there were city-states, area states (spartakos , orfeas , were thracians) are they bulgarians ??? you are big malakas

  • pes malaka ti kserieis esi gia ton orfea. eine ellinas kai aftos? be more careful with the truth of history if you take this only from the megalomanic greek history books!

there are still many things we don't know but we sure soon will have to rewrite history

  • eisai malakismenh... ! kai bebaia!! orfeas einai ellhnikhs proeleushs !!orfeas kai eyridikh... ston katw kosmo ... mousikos !!h isrtoria toy adh .. mono o hraklhs kai o odusseas phgan kai gyrisan !!.. gia pes mou ti allo xereois pou na deixnei to antitheto >> ANOHTH. !!

  • dude malaka, let us be honest, not everything nice which exists on this earth has to be automaticly greek. proofs about the case with orpheus and where is he coming from go and search in all your books written by your countrymen. there is no second question about it. beside this it will be a big mistake, and acctualy it is, to think that greeks are better people than others, but trust me they are really good thieves

  • yes, this ritual exists in northern greece, it was spread there from refugees coming from eastern thracia which remain turkish after the wars in 1913. so the question is about the origins of this ritual, it's very probably thracian but you're trying to tell me that thracians and everything thracian is hellenic, maybe egypt too, you've been there long enough?!

  • prosoxi pedi mou, min trellenete! read more! i don't know who is fascista! haha. just inform yourself and after that allow yourself to speak. but know language is very sleezy. (btw i am linguiste and know how attentif someone has to be with language arguments)

and yes, i said before that the word is greek (or at least looks like) but you know also this typical greek characteristic to hellenize foreign words and makes them sound familiar...examples-thousands...i please you, read more!

  • @LITHSIADCODE "you are big malakas"

  • Actually the ancient greek name "anastenaria" comes from the trachian word "nesthinaria" and as the ancient bulgarians inhabited their terittory the real successors of the thracians are the bulgarians. The ritual is bulgarian as we were the ones who danced it for over a fifteen centuries. You may now dance the "firedance" at Athens but this is happening nowadays cos you are trying to usurp the most facinating tradicions and folklore of the other bolkan people

  • thraca in greek mean fire..is pure greek word... anastenaria (nestinari) is a pure greek word .. ANCIENT GREEK WORD ...

FROM THE 3000 BC GREEKS HAVE THIS MANNERS AND THE CUSTOMS !!! READ AND LEARN ... LOOK AT MY VIDEOS ..

  • - Dude, Thracians were not Greeks - only partially Hellenized and later Romanized. Bulgarians were Thracians. Thracians called themselves TIRASIAND that Greeks corupted to "THRACIANS". Thracian is Federative name for 100 tribes. If they were Greeks they would be called Greeks. Furthermore Thracians had own language, culture and customs. Get over it.

  • The Ancient Greeks borrowed some of their gods from the Thracians :] ...

  • In Greece are many Bulgarians who practise nestinari dances! Thracians is not Greeks too!

  • 0:38 sec. thats my mom!

  • i have some errors in the comment sry :( :D

  • Proto-Bulgarians means ancient Bulgarians. There's not ethic "proto-Bulgarians" as there's not ethic "ancient Bulgarians", it's BULGARIANS of course, but when you say proto-Bulgarians you talk for the ancient glorious Bulgarians, not for the modern ones. Of course proto-Bulgarians and modern Bulgarians got the same blood - Bulg-Aryan.

  • offf

  • I love Macedonia:-)

  • The Bulgarians have never got god "Tangra". The proto-Bulgarian fate was something like Zoroastrism.

  • Not true !

second there is not such etnos like PROTO bulgarians ,protoamerikans,or protoinglish

  • True! Read more-the first bulgarian religion is Zoroastrism even the prophet Zoroaster is born in the persian province of "Baktria/Bulchara" that the bulgarians are considered to derive from. The late cult of "Mitra", ascended from the Zoroastrism and is one of the cults witch lied in the core of Christianity and is the reason for Christmas and Easter-the days of winter and spring solstice.

  • It is truth!Bulgarians have never got god Tangra! And is truth that they are connected with zoroasrianism!

  • ooo come on ! Bulgarians are not tatars !

word "tatar" was discover by Lenin to describe all the tribes live near Volga and Kama rivers ! now in that land live tatars but they come later then bulgarian in 13th century together with Chingiz Khan's mongols:) bulgarians arrived lot earlier in 7th century and have europian skull types :)

read some history before say anything stupid :P

  • ASPARUH video ....soon ...OZSERB :-)

  • from OZSERB: " fuken idiots this is pagan tradition nothing to do with orthodoxy"... what does it matter that...pagan tradition ...so?...is beautify...Tangra revenge an injury :-)

  • OZSERB(osran serb?) -I just wonder how ignorant and dull some people can be. Nestinasrtvo or Anastenaria in greek, has nothing to do neither with Mongolia or with the tartars. It's a local Balkanic (probably of Thracian origin) custom common in Northern Greece and SE Bulgaria.

  • It's doesn't have to do anything with Tangra (if such god ever existed in the Bolgars minds). Sorry to disappoint you guys it's not as easy at seems in the school-books.

  • I confirm this has nothing to do with me :P

  • fuken idiots this is pagan tradition nothing to do with orthodoxy

  • Serb, go to Israel, you will be expelled from the Balkans! And do not visit Bulgarian sites if you don't like it, OK!!

  • LOL, prankster

  • Indeed it is not Christian holiday but nevertheless it doesn't have to do anything with the Tatars or the Bolgars. It's a Thracian festival of the mother earth and her solar sun. Letter it was adapted to the Bulgarian orthodoxy. That's why on that day ppl celebrate Elena & Konstantin (mother and son). This of cos is not something unique. Xmas for instance is not Christian holiday at all. An existing Jewish winter festival was adopted by the early Christians.

  • Christmas was an older pagan holiday, not a jewish one, I believe. They used to worship the sun god. Easter was another older pagan holiday that was adopted for convenience.

  • Zdravei, bulgad!

    Good video!

I just don't like the way that some nestinari have been going on...

Well, I'm Ivailo fan, so I prefer more the "old ways", specially Balgaria's ways.

As Seuthes, Asparuh, Sitalces and, why not, mezhnai?

    You've some good videos!
