I think he's being a little modest. From his movies and books, it definitely seems like he at least has a basic understanding of Kierkegaard and Nietzsche.
We're all very lucky to have lived while this genius was alive and in his prime. It will be a sad day when no longer makes his art. Hilarious about the paying the "minimum amount. The Union allows. We dont pay them any ... ya know? We can't pay." - Just typical Woody. He does that so well in his interviews. His wryness and darker kind of sarcastic comedy. It slides by a lot of people. Same with some of his films. A lot of people dont get all of it. That's why they "hate" on him.
It's not just the glasses, it's the scripts he writes that makes him seem like such an intellectual. You watch his movies and the references he drops people try to keep up with.
Could anyone please tell me what name he refers when he says "I dont sit and read Kirkacald??...is it Kirkacald??....he also uses this name in many of his movies....please anyone
@reach2prasanna he refers to Kierkegaard, a philosopher who, as I understand it, wrote about the phenomenon of humans laughing 8as opposed to animals who can´t laugh). i once tried to read some, boy was that boring.maybe i was in the wrong mood...
Sometimes you want Axel to be quiet, but overall it's a very good interview.
