Oh come on, that one part could easily be edited out and then you're good to go. I can't believe Nick didn't pick this up (oh wait, yeah I can...cause it's Nick). I have not stumbled across something this good in a while, so it's quite a shame. I've noticed that this is getting around the internet pretty well nowadays. I think some retouching is order to make it either more steampunk or futuristic because it's kind of a lagging unbalance between the two. But, really, don't give up on this one!
If I had the money to fund this I would. I would love to see this as a complete television show or a full-length movie. Then again, if I had the money to fund this, I'd be Bill Gates or someone of comparable wealth.
perhaps you could render the backstory a little, maybe the show would work out in the end... i mean cmon... this is the best thing ive seen for a long time... stupid 9/11 coincidence...
O.O I'm going to have to start dropping this around the internet.. see what happens.
This "Pilot" is rather impressive... Love the nonsensical commentary at 8:00 really gives it that "teenage attention-span" spike haha. Anyway.. I'm off with this link. o.o
He made in in 2001, then the 9/11 attaacks happened, and nobody wanted to see any fictional violence even in cartoons. We Americans had our fill of REAL LIFE violence that was VERY TRAGIC. The sad thing about the show not being made, is now even 10 years later Micah Ian Wright has not tried to approach any TV company with the show. And sadly none of the TV network bosses have browsed youtube to find new ideas and ran across this. If they did, I'm sure they'd take it now.
You gotta try to get them to take Constant Payne. I mean it was probably too violent in 2001 after the 9/11 attacks for people to accept it, but now I'm guessing it will go just fine. I mean really this was an epic show, even for just a short 10 minute episode. I'd love to see it go into full production and air on TV, and even make it to DVD. If it did, I'd surely buy the DVD.
This is what happens when people get too soft after terrorist attacks, was it a horrible tragedy? Yes. But did it have to affect everything? No. This show should still be put on the air considering Nick has nothing better to show other than crap like Victorious and iCarly.
Micah Wright should definitely resubmit this idea to some other takers, because in comparison to most of the current programming, I'm genuinely impressed. It's a shame Nick won't pick it up, though, this would be a real nice change from their current comedy-lineup.
@Propaganda1776 -- Yeah, the implication I was trying to make was that "The Secret Saturdays" had borrowed from "Constant Payne" since "Payne" was actually produced first. It's just that I only became aware of the previous existence of "Constant Payne" recently. :-)
Anyway, it is a shame that Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, etc. weren't or aren't interested in the show -- I think it looks great and shows a lot of potential. I do hope that it eventually sees the light of day as an actual series.
I'm really sorry this never came to be. There might just be a good market for it these days, though, what with dieselpunk coming to the fore thanks to BioShock.
I hope someone helps you realise your vision one day.
@bulletproofKevlar Interesting. How would one explain the success of Avatar The Last Airbender? Kinda cuts down your argument right there. Teen Titans was pretty popular on cartoon network too if I recall.
@Superstarseven avatar is one of the few exceptions that actualy worked... teen titians was really anime esc it had teh goofy anime thing but that also has to do with the fact half teh filming is done for that show in japan... alot of the batman tas animators are japanese .. batman beyond return of the joker was done part buy the guys who did the opening to akira btw. maybe i should change it around not many work. though you have to agree western cartoons don't get anime art form very well
@Superstarseven they all take the american approach and just tweek it. but also during this time in 2001 there were several shows tryign to cash in on the anime look of course there are gonna be a few that do well but its very rare. teentitans was lucky cause they are technicaly more anime then western its kinda like gotham knights that way because bruce timm used alot of japanese artist adn cartoonist with all his work .. now everyone does it in korea cause its even cheaper i guess

I think you should update the designs, if you want to sell this.

I think this would have been a really good show. I wonder why Cartoon Network rejected it.

@Seifter16 It's a similar style. Perhaps the animators were influenced by it. Similar does not equal copying.

The music kills me! It needed to be less comical and more hardcore.
