Actually, what these ladies are trying to do is American Tribal Style Bellydance, which is a fusion of Egyptian bellydance, Indian dance, Flamenco and North African dance. It is not actual Banjara dance..., but they are not claiming to be Banjara, they are just using it with the word "Tribal" to evoke an image for their group. Hopefully they are more polished in their ATS by now... five years later.

banjara is FROM india rajasthan is was introduced into arabia and europe by INDIAN ROMANI gypsies...that are now found across europe....alot of arabian culture is taken from india, during the islamic occuptaion of that land. Indias dancing ladies are legendary, arabic hooka is indian, arabic numbers are indian....so please educate not mis-educate. arabic culture is not that deep.

@pukarokhan I think that is the name of the dance group.Not the style of the dance.This particular dance group is belly dance with Latin rhythms and movements.

The first dancer for example dances with a lot of feeling but the music that plays is clearly too fast and the whole thing looks wrong.

This dance is not Indian although there are some pseudo Indian dance moves. This is the kind of dance we call "Khantareesh" in Arabic

banjara is just the name of the dance company, they dont want to show gipsy dance. aPrt of that they are working on tribal belly dance.

This is not at all Banjara Dance. They are using the Term Banjara and music and actions are more of Arabic Dance style. Giving wrong directions to people who are not aware of what Banjara dance. Please don't do that.

This isn't even Arabian bellydance. This is American Tribal Style. The troupe is named Banjara to honour the Roma spirit of the dances they do. They aren't trying to be Indian or Arabic.
