@khankadet Asolutely Chris. Seeing the oil train running along the lower slopes of Ben Dorain, into the Horseshoe was quite impressive, even though I was being eaten by midges.
Incidentally, there are some fabulous walks in this area for those who may be going to Scotland on holiday.
Er, Scottish tourist board, you know where to send the cheque, LoL.
A great scenery, a beautiful place on earth. It took me a little time to fin it on Google maps. One of the first class 66 in Germany is bought by HGK and I see it nearly each day and think "greetings from BR!"
@collieultimo. Well I may be into steam, but I still appreciate good engineering and the 66s are my favourite diesel locos. Their no nonsense appearance & impressive performance on railways thoughout Europe, makes them the ideal workhorse.
Incidentally Rainer, a group of us recently went up to the Quiraing again on a Hang-Gliding trip. I hope to be posting some of our exploits on YouTube shortly.
I met a fellow countryman of yours up there. An international tour operator.
Love the scenery Hugh! Chris
