Do you still play? Do you compete at all? I used to play before the culture completely dissipated in Australia in the late 90's. It's hard to find anyone that still plays (in the western world that is!)
This was beautiful! didn't know you can do such a piece of music only by using an electronic organ! I wanted to give a standing ovation, but you couldn't see it anyway and if I did it, my laptop would fall on the ground!
It's a long time work to do something like that:) I'm impressed:) I'm working on Korg Triton, Korg M3, Karma and some Rolands old workstations and I have an opportunity to do something like that but i am to lazy..prefer plaing piano:P whatever I think that if I heared your pease and original i would say that the first is playing by another orchestra and that is why it sounds...like the best copy of original i've ever heard. I'd be greatfull to know what instrument it is what you are plaing on.:)
I just read through all the comments and just don't get why some people can't understand how this type of music is "created" on a keyboard. Great job. All the best to you.
When I was learning the electone 20 yrs ago, we were always told "the electronic organ is not JUST an organ - it is evolving into a one-man orchestra"
And brownieboy1988 - I don't know about other organ companies, but your 'American Symphony' and 'Wintergames' performances have just are a clear example that Yamaha - and th Electone - have proved that point beyond all doubt!
Would be great to see post a few more performances in the near future ....
He's also got some of it as a MIDI file. Look at the floppy drive on the right hand side of the keyboard in front. The access light is on. (Probably the percussion tracks)
Yes the percussion accompaniment has been pre-programmed as a sequence... as the
accompaniment plays the registration combinations have been programmed to change in the correct places in the score, that way i have my hands and legs free to play the song!! However, i am still playing the music live!
it's not actually a midi file however the disk is used to store the registration and drum sequence data which then is loaded before i start playing. so yes, you're right it's used for the percussion tracks. all the music is played live
Dude, you are my hero! You did that musical score justice - beautiful music to such a beautiful movie. it's amazing that one person can play all of those instruments. You truly have a gift. Will you please post more? Rock on!
If I'm getting goosebumps listening to it without the best quality of sound, imagine what it would be like in the same room.... Very well done, dude. Seriously. Goosebumps.
Ok I will agree that when playing one key it may feed through notes an octave or higher hence to create harmony. If you want to hear songs where no pre-registrations have been done I will gladly record one for you. P.S It is an instrument like all others, and all instruments are "great for people just learning to play", but you do realise this is an organ ;)
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
The name "keyboard" simply entails the fact that it has keys, and once again, you are wrong. It's not a true organ. It's a double decker keyboard, if you will. I never said he couldn't play songs without triggers and sequencing, I simply stated that it wasn't what other people thought when he played American Symphony. If he writes some of his own music and posts it, I would be more impressed. Anybody can play someone else's song.
LOL @ bck122179. Man, I seriously wish fools like him did some research before they start criticising things they have obviously no idea about.
Btw nice playing brownie, is this from the Cinema books Popular 5~3?? I want to get that book because it has the theme from Summer in it, maybe you can send it to me. ;) Or the sheet music for this song too pls? :D Im grade 6 atm and needa prepare for next years exams.
Oh fuck off bck122179. I play in a symphony orchestra, and having just recently played that very piece of music, I can say that this is a slice of fried gold. Hats off to brownieboy for a fucking good job.

ummm.....as a composer and a Mr. Holland's Opus afficianado, I can tell you that he' only playing two or three instruments out of the score by himself layered over the top of the priginal playing in the background. Anyone with a shred of musical intellect can hear it. Good job regardless, but nothing worth playing on television.
Excuse me!? There is NO original playing here. The only "pre-recorded" bit here is the percussion that has been sequenced. ALL the instruments are being played by me, if you want i can send you my electone score and registrations, i assure you this is me playing. Take a look at other electone videos on youtube and you will see how lifelike the sounds are that the electone can reproduce. Verify your sources before you go commenting on something you obviously have no idea about.
I can agree on this one, Brownieboy! I have this very score and I am working on this one on my EL-90. If you don't play any keys or pedals, you wouldn't hear anything but the rythm.
@brownieboy1988 On Defense of Brownieboy1988, He Actually did this himself. reason 1. Keyboard esp. this one are capable of things like that. 2.@ 3:22 when brownie does the mini guitar solo from the original composition by Michael Keemen, it sound Kind of like a guitar and a few notes missed. 3. at the very end, the last 3 notes, brownieboy only paused for note 1 to note 2 and 3 for two seconds. in the original comp that last note there is a pause for 4 seconds before the last 2 notes come in.
I had my daughter listen to this video without looking at it and asked her how many pieces were in this symphony. She said 30 or 40. She freaked out when she saw 1 guy at the keyboard. That was amazing. Next stop: America's Got Talent!
I must say you have all of the parts perfect! And your hand placements and carriage movements were top notch! I believe Michael Kamen would have been very proud of you if he could see how your playing has done his symphony justice!
that was great...fantastic! ive heard your winter games..is it okay if you can send me sheet music for wnter games? thanks... if its ok with you.. i really would like to play winter games but i dont have any sheet music for that and arrangement same as yours...
Hey brownieboy, that's a great piece of work! I heard your "Winter" last year and really looking forward to hear more of your master piece! Keep up your superb performance!! P/s: pls show your face to the fans out there :)
WOW you do total justice to "An American Syphony". You have interpreted this piece better than any other performance I've EVER HEARD ! Keep it up. I would love to hear some Bach organ works by you.O Please would you post more of your recitals. You would definately shred them!
to think when I was teaching electronic music 27 years ago next month a t a summer camp we were excited by having instruments that could play three notes at once- we have come a long way baby! and to quote prove that famous quote from "Fame" about elctronic instruments wrong-- that really was music not masturbation!
I can't believe how much like the real thing that sounds. It's also awesome that one person is playing what a whole bunch of people played originally.
Well done mate. You are an exellent performer. The EL900m sure has a great sound. IT would be great to see more performances from you. Keep them coming :)
