There are Situations where a crane will not work either Logistically or Financially. When you get into that situation you have to use your Brain not just call a bigger crane. This was one of those situations. I could have hired a crane to do the job and it would have cost so much that the job would not have been worth doing. I use cranes when practical and this method when not so Haters don't waste your time writing. This is not our side job we have move alot of tubs! Everybody has their way.
Well, I mimicked your setup minus the wench and the tub came off the deck like a dream. The owners of the spa shop in Springfield, MO were pretty impressed and I picked up a ton of business because of this. I appreciate it like you wouldn't believe. You guys are true professionals. We recognize our own.
Thanks Brother, We move alot of tubs and have built rigs for about every situation. The Tu-17 we use as a winch is actually used in scaffolding and it doesn't have the cable wrapped up in it it just grabs the cable where you lock down on it and will pull on both strokes. Hope you move went well let me know.
Bravo buddy. I move hot tubs on a regular basis and that was the slickest setup I've seen in over ten years. lol. I'm actually doing the opposite of that tomorrow and I may modify my setup slightly mimic what you just did, minus the wench. I'm coming off a nine foot deck so my setup will be a little simpler, but cudos. Love what you did.
I have delivered over 4000 spas... why is it so much fun? Seriously... I really love it. lol You can see us by typing in "Dan Achatz Olympic Hot Tub"
