  • So Obama stole his 'car in a ditch' analogy from Jon Stewart.

  • At 7:00, "Clearly bad ... and I meant you mostly." Classic!

  • Sheesh, I ever thought of that...Jon Stewart is more of a Discussion class rather than a lecture hall. In a way, he is supplementing our knowledge base with the "funny"

    He is brilliant.

  • You can't help but feel enlightened from this man.... even a little bit.... even for a little while

  • you can tell that this guy is one of the most genuine people on television

the abrupt way he gave an explicit answer to "who u gon vote for" just shows that

  • God Jon, you're just too much fun, you're too good for us

  • 100 to 1 people have watched this piece on youtube over c-span.....

  • Fantastic ALTHOUGH, unfortunately I don't agree that the show isn't funny without a knowledge of politics, when I started watching the show I NEVER knew what they were talking about (and had literally no other news source) and now, still, commentary on internal American issues go straight over my head... it's still fucking funny. ::P

  • It's funny if you just watch the show. It's VEERRRY funny if you follow the news, the news media, AND watch the show.

  • "Don't worry i can drive us outa this" LOL

  • "I'm a jew, I'm just glad you didn't take a swing at me." lol

  • "Don't worry I know how to drive us out of this." Haha.

That whole explanation was perfect. He's a liberal but he comes out looking very rational.

  • youll find most are

  • That Citigroup idiot probably wouldn't be saying they do a good job five years later.

  • I love Jon<3

  • Thanks for sharing these.

  • ... Jon's attitiude to the Israeli-Palestinian problem has become more rational now, especially since the 22 day bombardment of Gaza.

I didn't like how he treated that Muslim man. I don't know what White America understands, but I don't think the other races need so much help -.-

  • Maybe lighten up on how he treated the Muslim man, he treated everyone equally

  • 7:04, funniest moment in the entire interview, but damn, isnt he just inherently hilarious

  • inherently brilliant

  • I like the fact that this is not censored.

  • The sound is really bad on some of this, but I really like this.

  • 9:08 "and it will believe me" not any time soon jon . . .

  • Well supposedly god knows all and knew we'd set up holy sites in the Holy Land. And supposedly the Pope has a direct line with god, as stated in the Bible. So why do these religious leaders cling to holy relics and sites so vigorously?

  • I've read through the bible... I don't recall any mention of the Pope. And Jesus certainly never said anything about establishing or recognizing any such office within the church. Do you have any sources for your information?

  • In Mathew 16:19, Jesus told Peter, the first Pope that whatever Peter said on Earth, god would hold true in heaven. Therefore, according to the Bible, the Pope has the power to change his mind on anything and god would have to make it true in heaven. Jesus literally handed the "keys to the kingdom of heaven" to Peter.

  • lolololololol "I mean you mostly" did anyone else almost die from laughing so hard?

  • They do business with Iran? That's insane!

  • how convenient.Beliving in a God wich doesnt need a proof that exists.

The problem with Catholic church and other churches is this: they dont give you a guarantee for their "sold" products (u do give "them" money, right?) They get it only when you die - the promise of eternal life that is. Isnt it funny if you think about it ? :)

  • No, no, the life of grace is very much for this would. For instance, most people report feeling lightened, more at ease, being in a more graceful state, after confession. This helps them overcome their sins and bad habits (maybe a person tells too many lies, or is attracted too much to his neighbours wife, this can cause trouble of course, and disturb the poor man).

So no a lot of what they 'sell' is immediately appliable. It is about leading a good life, something many people need help with.

  • Another thing, Jesper you say that people report feeling lighened? More at ease? I'm sure the fucking crazy religious activists that suicide bomb innocent people in prayers that they'll be given 12 virgin wifes in the after life felt that way as well. Or else they wouldn't keep doing it.

Not sure on the whole number of wife thing but its basically the same eternal happyness heaven bullshit con to get what the makers of the religion want. Killers & money!

    Sin is just a word.

  • Now adays you can't merely say, "If you don't believe in god I'll kill you." Since we've reached an age of reason. With law which was not made by god but man.

Or at least sort of, Jon Stewert George Carlin & I'm sure many other reasonable people can see that we're still far away from a reasonable country with a good law system.

But hey! We're working on it right? XD

  • hmm...sometimes i cant understand if you talk in the sense of being contrary to religion or not.i ,on the example below, understood you - probably - wrong... im confused.

  • Suppose a person believed that the world was in fact round, when everyone believed that it was flat. Would that make him wrong?

The problem is that lack of evidence, as you call it, I assume you haven't looked deeply into the teachings of the Church or the very elaborate writings of the Saints and Early Church Fathers, does not necessarily mean that what they are saying is wrong.

Just that there is no evidence, by what if what you consider evidence. It might well be the truth all the same.

  • The problem is that you also gave an example as to the discovery of the world being round. The world was proven to be round through traveling it. You cannot traverse religion, it is only told. It is one sided & unjust. Questioned & never answered. Worshiped & unreasoned. Only a child could have come up with such, "Rules." to life. Who holds rule over death?

This was religion was long ago, "Do you believe in god? No= torture followed by death Yes = live Do you believe in my god? No? = death!"

  • George carlin once said, religiion is the biggest bull shit story con scam ever made. No salesmen in the world can or will ever top it.

  • Vilemk0:i concur:) Also, the strange thing about religion is that you get your "product" (going to heaven or hell) only after you die ! There is no guarantee or moneyback policy ;)

  • @ Lywnis~ Religion hides itself as a belief. If it was just that they wouldn't be so fucking greedy with money. Its not about policy though, since god is all knowing all wise all powerful & the most perfect ass hole you'll ever hear of. So its not like they would even give a policy, its either ship in or ship out.

Go to hell don't pass go you will not recieve your complementary gift. Fuck you! xD

On to the next god fearing sodomite.

  • excuse me? so Buddhist people are all sodomites (even before Christ became what you think he is) Well, fuck you too...but i say it with contempt :) Dont you think you will go to hell if you say such words? lol, hypocrite

Btw,if GOD is allmighty - why does he need representatives who talk and do rubbish ? why does he need policies ? Come on, on every corner of the world your religion is cracking... why should i fear god if i donte ven belive it exists? you are indeed ignorant

  • Supposedly Muhammed was airlifted by god to Jerusalem. And god supposedly led the Jews to Jerusalem. And of course Jesus had to be crucified there, just to make it a three-way match.

  • But did God tell us to create worship only there? In the Old Testament, God and the Ark resides in a tent, then David wants to built a House for the Lord, but his prophet tells him, that God needs no house. David even passes up on it, and it is his son, Solomon, that builds the first temple to God.

The point is, God does not require buildings. They are there to help, at best. They are not crucial.

'One day people will not worship on a mountain or in temple, but in truth and spirit'

    -Jesus

  • And why did Jesus get so upset when the merchants were in the temple?

  • I am not entirely sure, but he says that it is because his Father's house should not be a den of robbers but a house of prayer.

  • But why does his father need a house? You just said he doesn't need a building.

  • He doesn't. Jesus says somewhere, that some day the Father will not be worshiped on one particular mountain (Sinai, as the Samaritans do) or in the Temple (in Jerusalem), at that time the only place where you could worship certain rites. Jesus said it would be done in spirit and truth.

However, that does not preclude having buildings where people meet to discuss these things, I think the idea is not so much you can't worship God in a building as it is, that only _ONE_ building will do.

  • Well god could have eased the burden by taking Muhammed to another part of the world, but no. He brought him to a site in Jerusalem. Convenient for the Muslims, I know, but inconvenient for the Jews. Jesus and his dad should have gotten on the same page. It would have saved us a lot of grief.

  • That is a great point, but perhaps God never intended for Jews, Christians and Muslims to fight, so He saw no reason not to? Perhaps the fighting is human rebellion against God, one way or another? I would think so, truly.

    Regards,

    Jesper

  • Or maybe fighting is a human rebellion against other humans. That's what I always thought. The fact of the matter is that the reason these people feel entitled to the area is because they're trying not to rebel against their god. In this case god is the motivating factor for the turmoil in the Middle East, not the solution. Supposedly he could do anthing he wanted. Why didn't he set it up so we weren't in a position to fight so much?

  • Fighting is human rebellion against humans? NO SHIT SHERLOCK HOMES! Thats pretty much the fucking definition of the meaning. God didn't place anyone anywhere either, or he'd probably still be doing it to this day. Your jesus probably traveled there seeking to interfer & change shit like most humans do.

Everything we touch we destroy over time, people wonder why god doesn't show himself but if he was real. Humans would have fucking killed him by now, or at least tried.

    I'm an agnostic fyi.

  • Vilemk0:correction, u are rational :)

  • What the hell is your problem? It's Holmes, genius. I was responding to someone who said fighting was human rebellion against god. Go look at the context before you rattle your loud mouth. I'm atheist, FYI.

  • Because they were the first central banks. Each week they'd charge more and more for the same "coin" that you had to have in order to pay the church. They were the first people written about to have the absolute power over a currency. or so the "story" in the bible goes.

  • "I meant you.." 7:02 Perfection.

  • "What was God thinking in putting all his holy sites in one area?!" "I just wanna see who wants it more!"

LOL, Jon should do more religious analysis.

  • Since Obama takes from a lot of people's quotes.

I am just wondering who is the real Obama, or is he really a phoney!

I know that most of you are going to give me the usual answer, but for me that is not good enough. If this person going to be considered for the president of the free world.

  • Oh my God!

Has anyone else heard Obama use that line about the bus and the ditch "If the bus driver goes into the ditch, you fire the driver..." etc etc etc. It was part of Obama's stump speech forever during the campaign. He totally stole it from Jon! Ha! Hilarious.

  • makes sense, doesn't it?

  • Jon Stewart! Yay!

I'm really happy to watch this.

  • Golly, where are all the hateful conservatives criticizing this series? There should be half a dozen illiterate FoxNews fans posting verbatim talking points on these videos, with the usual number of misspelled two-syllable words.

Damn, guys. Get on the job, willya? Are you real good ol' boys or just paid by the hour?

  • they dont have the attention span for something like this... serious

  • don't forget the get their "news" from fox. c-span is way to spin-free and neutral for their taste, or as they would frase it, "liberal elite propaganda".

  • I am a conservative, and guess what? I loved this video, and I love Jon Stewart. You know what I don't love, though? Gross generalizations and blanket statements. You can't fight ignorance with ignorance.

  • elee, I wish I saw more evidence of folks like you, but I don't. It's not a generalization to say that most of the political conversation I see in public comment threads like this one are of the more mindless cheerleader variety.

You know, the folks who still believe that war is good for America's self-esteem, because that's the message they get from the mainstream media that Stewart speaks about in this video.

  • res ipsa loquitur

  • @moeskido i know man, they are strangely absent... maybe because Jon Stewart is completely genuine... and even they are slightly enlightened by him....

  • Jon Stewart is the man.
