wow i still don't understand why some people are still saying BB is just a watered down Guilty Gear I think it's an evidence now that they are both very good figthing games, i began with BlazBlue and try GG at first i didn't like too much but recently I got caugth in it with XX Reload. I "sort of" Hate BlazBlue. By "sort of" I mean I perfer the GG gameplay, but there's like 2 characters that are well-designed enough(Makoto and Hazama) to make the game sorta worth playing. If only Hazama and Makoto where in GG :'(

Guilty Gear has about 4 versions of the same game. Guilty Gear X2, each coming with different stories for their characters. Buy /two/ games compared to 4?

@mcFreaki She does have a right arm but it's a mechanical prosthetic of some sort due to her arm and eye being damaged by That Man. It's hidden by the robe. It's seen very rarely and usually in the form of a long chain with a claw at the end. She also seems to have other attachments like a cannon there, no idea how she fits all those weapons up her sleeve though.
WHY ARE WE ARGUING? Blazblue was created FOR FANS OF GUILTY GEAR, because of the whole losing the Guilty Gear name to Sega and shit. STOP PMSING. They're both games, one being the mother title, the other being the daughter.

If Daisuke wasn't okay with it, he wouldn't have made the OST and paint the characters for CS
@badspokesman Yeah I have played it. I bought a ps3 JUST TO PLAY IT. And was nothing but disappointed. The characters are, at best, almost all ripoffs from guilty gear, and are all less impressive. There is nothing likable about them. It has way less characters. The characters are boring. The modes in the game are not updated and are less entertaining than guilty gears simply because the game play and characters are not nearly as interesting. Only DMC2 beats it in disappointment.
@thesadmummy77 First of all, Blazblue characters are counterparts of Guilty Gear games. No duh they're going to be 'rip-offs' of them, if it's a counterpart /game/. The characters in Blazblue are definitely likable, you must have not played Continuum Shift. The modes in the games are revamped and updated with every new patch. @spdeew bullshit she would, Hakumen has unlimited stamina and is by most means, impervious to normal weaponry. As soon as he Mugen's she's not getting out of there, but that doesnt mean she wouldnt put up a pretty impressive fight for a human.
Fav GGX character evah! Counters, dead angle attacks allowing great mingame... I rarely found so fun to play a chara in any other fighting game. Well, not that Hakumen is bad, but he's too much power-based while Baiken still have speed and some nice combos. And tatamis. And, well, her theme song ROCKS! \m/

@shinryu05 But Cuma212 is right, Blazeblue is too slow >.< I played it and tried to get the jist of it but its just painful to play. I then went on to put in Guilty Gear XX on my PS2 and its a hell of a lot faster and more exciting for saying it came out a long time before Blazeblue did. I do like the fact the two have the same style, but one is far superior to the other lesser copycat. Anyway, on this music, Baiken is awesome!
@MaxisJulius Okay, I've played both and have to agree that Guilty Gear plays a lot faster and more exciting compared to BlazBlue, but IMHO the pace of the latter is more convenient for people who are newbies in the fighting game genre. That's why the game was enjoyable for me, who didn't like fighting games before. Then I went on to Guilty Gear XX, which was harder for me as a beginners, but still enjoyable. Both games are awesome, I just depends on your preferences. And BTW: Awesome Music :D
@shinryu05 Very true, Blazeblue is a better game for beginners since its got a noob mode and also a better slower pace :-) though it does have some depth to it as well for the hardcore players. But due to its slowness and the fact its just a Guilty Gear clone puts me off it, after loving the music, characters and gameplay of XX, my favourite of all the Guilty Gear series. It does depend on preferences though :-)

Blazeblue has its plus points, true, but I found the story, the fighting and the general feel of it to just be inferior to Guilty Gear XX. And lol. For me I was getting my ass handed to me because I just could not get used to the slowness and unresponsive controls, so I was getting far too frustrated.
@MaxisJulius Well, yeah that was my problem as well yeah, along the aforementioned way that they butchered my main characters moveset to make Ragna and then gave him some moves I just could not seem to get used to (I SUCKED at landing his drive)
@KaiHyouookami You'd be better off just advising people to try and buy Guilty Gear XX, you really would, so they can play the best of the Guilty Gear series and see for themselves how different it is compared to Blazeblue. I tried using my own quickly favourite character on Blazeblue, Toakaka, but I just couldn't get the nack of the slow fighting >.<
@MaxisJulius Odd. I played them in reverse order ( BB 1st, GG 2nd) and found the opposite. Maybe BB prepared me or something, but predicting attacks was so much easier in GG.
@OmegaChosen0 Its not a successor of any kind yet, there's a brand new sequel to Guilty Gear XX coming to PS3 and XBOX360! Its going to be the true follow on to XX, not the multiple spin-offs that followed it. Its going to be awesome :-)

@mcFreaki She does have a right arm but it's a mechanical prosthetic of some sort due to her arm and eye being damaged by That Man. It's hidden by the robe. It's seen very rarely and usually in the form of a long chain with a claw at the end. She also seems to have other attachments like a cannon there, no idea how she fits all those weapons up her sleeve though.

@thesadmummy77 Blazblue actually has an amazing storyline. Anyone who plays Blazblue knows that Guilty Gear is it's mother. On the case of Calamity Trigger, it even states it's the predecessor to Guilty Gear. Have you ever actually played Blazblue, or are you just trolling for fun? Blazblue and Guilty Gear are separate games, yet Blazblue stole everything from Guilty Gear DUE to the contract with Sega. If Daisuke wasn't okay with it, he wouldn't have made the OST and paint the characters for CS

@badspokesman Yeah I have played it. I bought a ps3 JUST TO PLAY IT. And was nothing but disappointed. The characters are, at best, almost all ripoffs from guilty gear, and are all less impressive. There is nothing likable about them. It has way less characters. The characters are boring. The modes in the game are not updated and are less entertaining than guilty gears simply because the game play and characters are not nearly as interesting. Only DMC2 beats it in disappointment.

@thesadmummy77 First of all, Blazblue characters are counterparts of Guilty Gear games. No duh they're going to be 'rip-offs' of them, if it's a counterpart /game/. The characters in Blazblue are definitely likable, you must have not played Continuum Shift. The modes in the games are revamped and updated with every new patch. Much so with the new 1.03 patch with Blazblue CS. Disappointment? Blazblue? I don't know if you're just a Guilty Gear fanboy, or a fighting game-impaired lunatic.

The Blazblue plot is so much more complex than that of Guilty Gear, but really, They're the same thing. You have a problem with it, go make your own game. Fav GGX character evah! Counters, dead angle attacks allowing great mingame... I rarely found so fun to play a chara in any other fighting game. Well, not that Hakumen is bad, but he's too much power-based while Baiken still have speed and some nice combos. And tatamis. And, well, her theme song ROCKS! \m/

@shinryu05 But Cuma212 is right, Blazeblue is too slow >.< I played it and tried to get the jist of it but its just painful to play. I then went on to put in Guilty Gear XX on my PS2 and its a hell of a lot faster and more exciting for saying it came out a long time before Blazeblue did. I do like the fact the two have the same style, but one is far superior to the other lesser copycat. Anyway, on this music, Baiken is awesome!

@MaxisJulius Okay, I've played both and have to agree that Guilty Gear plays a lot faster and more exciting compared to BlazBlue, but IMHO the pace of the latter is more convenient for people who are newbies in the fighting game genre. That's why the game was enjoyable for me, who didn't like fighting games before. Then I went on to Guilty Gear XX, which was harder for me as a beginners, but still enjoyable. Both games are awesome, I just depends on your preferences. And BTW: Awesome Music :D

@shinryu05 Very true, Blazeblue is a better game for beginners since its got a noob mode and also a better slower pace :-) though it does have some depth to it as well for the hardcore players. But due to its slowness and the fact its just a Guilty Gear clone puts me off it, after loving the music, characters and gameplay of XX, my favourite of all the Guilty Gear series. It does depend on preferences though :-)

Blazeblue has its plus points, true, but I found the story, the fighting and the general feel of it to just be inferior to Guilty Gear XX. And lol. For me I was getting my ass handed to me because I just could not get used to the slowness and unresponsive controls, so I was getting far too frustrated.

I tried using my own quickly favourite character on Blazeblue, Toakaka, but I just couldn't get the nack of the slow fighting >.<
