  • Cool! Even though I heard of Balloon Kid back in 1990, it didn't catch my eye much. Seeing a preview of in the 3DS eShop makes me want it now. It's amazing that Japan remade the game 10 years later as a GBC Download. And that is also in their eShop. I wish that version would have been ported here, all they needed to do is change the title screen to English. We need more GBC in the eShop.

  • @starhedgehog Balloon Kid for 3DS VC is available now in Australia. So wherever you are in the world, I'm sure you'll get it too very soon.

  • This was my favorite game as a kid

  • Fantastic music

  • Awww, I used to love this game when I was a kid ^_^ but when all my game boy games went missing this was the only one that I couldn't find again :'( though I did find my copy of supermario and the 6 golden coins! ^_^

  • This game is the shit!

  • I love this Game n.n yo lo tenia de pequeño i se me perdio ¬¬

  • My thumb hurts just watching this. Great memories :)

  • Am I the only one that finds it strange that the game scrolls to the left?

  • This was my first game :') [I need to find my two Gameboy Colors]

  • Child hood game <3

  • Am I the only one who thinks they should take Balloon Fight and Balloon Kid and put them together in a DS game and call it...Balloon Fight DS? Awesome no?

  • I remember being shopping with my parents when i first got this, and eating in pizza hut, but i just wanted to go home and play the game, keept reading the instructions and looking at the box. I rember it was when the land before time film was out (988) cuz I got a free toy with the meal!!!! PURE NOSTALGIA

  • lol, what, you could blow your balloons back up??? no wonder i thought this game was so hard......

  • You, sir, are AWESOME and may be adressed as such.

This was the third game of any kind I ever played in my life - EVER!

    Gotta love the music btw.

  • loved this game, and the music

  • ''alice and jim always loved to play with balloons and spread the sky with 'em. one day jim tied balloons together to make a balloon rainbow ''great idea but be careful'' meant alice. just then a wind blew jim into the sky''

i gott hat info from wikipedia...i don't know if it's right but awesome plot i say

  • I always had a suspicion that every level in the game could be beaten without using any balloons and just by jumping on the birds, since you could ride on the birds without any ballons and they wouldn't hurt you.

  • True, but you would have to do it with caution.

  • @rolliecarso the manual explicitly mentioned that you should try that for the first 2 levels (why do I remember such stuff?). It was easy for the first level, but got hard pretty fast.

  • the farest level i could remember its an ice cavern

the boss was a kind of robot with a diamond on his head... i never beated :(

  • @sgutsman Same here. I probably played a million hours of gameboy when i was little, and I could never beat that ice level. So hard.

  • ouh, i miss it. im still able to hum the melody of the first level =D

this was sum kind of uplifting music for me, wonderful! balloonkid & ducktales(moon level) =D

  • jeez this music takes me back. i borrowed this game loong time ago from a friend. feeling kind of nostalgic now.

  • Man... It also was one of the first games I ever played on the good old Gameboy... And guess what... I also borrowed it from a friend! ^^

I LOVED this game, but I never reached the final level...

It really an awesome nostalgic feeling...

  • Whoa, this brings back memories!

  • I miss the simpler graphics.

I should go dust off my NES.

  • And I'm willing to bet you're wrong. You've obviously not explored enough dimensions to understand the science in giant... pencil... buildings. Oh, wait...

  • I remember when my mom bought me this game back in like...1991, I think. I was six. Good times, this game takes me back. I hope Nintendo will release it on Virtual Console or something.

  • lulz, ED

  • Im have it but im loss my gameboy :(

  • 0:33 :-)

  • I have this game. It's fun.

  • Ever heard of Balloon Fight GB? Look in this video's response.

  • Yeah, but I only have the original.

  • Right, but Japan gets a better version of it, which Balloon Fight GB has color, battery-backed memory, stage selection and Super Game Boy features. There is also the Famicom version, "Hello Kitty World", which the company Character Soft developed it with Sanrio's license.

  • Wow, I didn't know it had battery-backed memory...that would have been great to have the first couple playthroughs of the one we got.

  • lost mine long time ago shit! Also loved the music!

  • This game is awesome!!!! Love the music! 90's good times!!

  • i love this game. i'm so gonna play this in a bit. hope i find it =]

  • i wonder if i should get this game

  • YES

  • the music is just awesome KICKZ ASSSSSSSSSSS

  • That game rocked. I spent hours playing it and got a stiff neck. I forgot how many times I beat it. Too bad my GB don't work any more.

  • Wow, this takes me back:D

  • 90's such good times :]

    music <33333

  • one of my favorite gameboy games, the music is awesome.

  • i like the helo kitty version... it's faster and seems easier to control

  • That's an awesome remix of the Original Balloon Fight Theme!

  • the player is not very good... I'M BETTER!! ;)

  • That's because I used a keyboard to play this. Keyboards are harder to use than joypads. Also, this was the second time I played Balloon Kid, which means I've never played this much back then. Today, I've gotten better at it.

  • pencil shaped buildings:D

  • Which is why the city is called "Pencilvania".

  • hahahha wow thats realy unique!

  • That is so obviously the engine used in underwater mario stages. Cool game though.

  • Not only in the underwater stage, but also in the last stage (the sky stage) in Super Mario Land 1.

  • this game looks easy

  • nice to see again :)

but i wonder why you skipped the bonus level at 1.45

the entrance is the giant game boy

  • That was my second time playing it. On my first time playing this game, I tried to enter it, but I couldn't, so I thought you can't enter it.

  • my friend alex hes is Vlamakis on youtube gave this game to me i play it forever and ever

  • Me too! but in emulator U_U (if would be a virtual console for NDS or for Wii with Game Boy Games)

Is fun, i apreacie so much this game

  • OMG...this was my favourite game. I loved it because back then there were hardly any female heroes, and the main character in this game was a GIRLIE! :)

  • vs mode is good too

  • One of my favorite games when I was a kid.

You've made me want to play it again ^_^
