I raced a CTS-V last night in my 03 Cobra and it was the big v8 supercharged model. I had full exhaust, tune, smaller sc pulley, intake and I know for sure the CTS-V had an exhaust. The damn thing was as loud as my Cobra. 4 different runs and on the first run he got me by half a car length. Next 3 times I got him by a car length. Those were some damn good races. Some of the best I've ever had, period.
the 03-04 cobra is faster than the cts-v stock for stock and if u wanna talk about the supercharged cts-v for the extra money you would spend on the caddy u could make the cobra twice as fast.. the cobra is strictly a muscle car its not supposed to be a luxury car like the caddy,, hence the reason y it is cheaper the cobra and the 03-04 cobra is by far more muscle looking and stylish than the v if i want luxury ill ride in my dads escalade but for now i want mean power so i prefer my 04 cobra
at the end of the day the Caddy does compete in the race and then slays every other aspect of the cobra; ride, interior, fuel economy, brakes, and top speed. Also the CTS V is in the 20s the same as a nice 03 04 cobra so the money issue can be thrown out the window.
if i bought an 03-04 cobra svt and had the money for a ctsv. im pretty sure i could mod the cobra up to destroy the ctsv, and have money left over. oh and i could make it sound, and to me, look better then the ctsv! i love cobra's and mustangs though so that's my opinion!

I think stock for stock no spray, a terminator cobra would lose to an xlr v or an sts v. Little more fair, people say no replacement for displacement.. Ya there is it's called DOHC with a blower....

Everyone that is against ford keeps forgetting...4.6 vs 6.0...the supercharger makes up for the loss in displacement. With a stock Eaton blower this is more than a fair fight they both have around 400 hp. That said i love the CTS-V :) But would have a Cobra if i could.

ya mustangs don't travel faster than 155MPH unless they're modified. so add all modifications that you have on to that cadillac and it would smash on the cobra
03-04 Cobras run mid to high 12s stock 1/4 mile. The 09 Ctsv does also. So why all the Cobra bashing? They are stout cars. Hand built motor with forged internals. Mildly modded Cobas have seen 11s all day long. Whats to make funb of.... I dont get it. I love all fast cars some more than others but I love fast cars. The website i pulled 385 from was incorrect. Further research shows that the 390 hp figure is correct. However, U are correct in stating that the CTS-V weighs more. The CTS weighs in at 3850 lbs and the cobra weighs 3700 pounds. Weight does make a difference but in this instance not as much as u think. Power to weight ratio is key in drag racing. The CTS is 9.62 and the cobra is 9.61. 1/4 mile for CTS is 13.4@109mph. The cobra is 12.9@111mph. So basically The driver of this cobra SUCKS.

Uhhh...no, sorry, fail. The Teksid & Windsor aluminum blocks are NOT the same blocks as the 03/04 cobra's. They are no more alike than any other two blocks are. The 03/04's use the iron Romeo block, as they had issues with the aluminum one's in terms of wear. Sorry, buddy, but instructions for dealing with the two blocks are NOT in the slightest bit interchangeable. And neither are any manuals which deal with the 03/04 cobra vs one which deals with the 94-98 cobra's with their aluminum blocks.

i love cobras and own one thats fully built on spray but thats not the first and only upgrade u make to a stock motor...and yes the cobra beat the cts without spray and anilated it with spray....putting only nitrous on a car is ok if u have a p.o.s like an LS1 or GTO but when u have a fast car like a terminator cobra u do other mods before u spray them...poor choice on the owners part

actually no, he has had the car 7 years and hes only takin it to the drag strip once. he rarely ever gets into it and never takes the corners that fast. it just the bearings went out in his rear end and made an awful roaring sound for quite sometime, his L-piece to his intake fell apart, the fuel pump failed on him with only 55,000 miles on it and had to replace some fuel lines b/c they were leaking. my 73 mach 1 is 35 years old and is still in better shape than his car

@untouchablewealth Everything's fair on the street if you pick a fight you better be able to back it up. The Cobra even off the juice is pulling on it. Everyone that is against ford keeps forgetting...4.6 vs 6.0...the supercharger makes up for the loss in displacement. With a stock Eaton blower this is more than a fair fight they both have around 400 hp. That said i love the CTS-V :) But would have a Cobra if i could.

03-04 Cobras run mid to high 12s stock 1/4 mile. The 09 Ctsv does also. So why all the Cobra bashing? They are stout cars. Hand built motor with forged internals. Mildly modded Cobas have seen 11s all day long. Whats to make funb of.... I dont get it. I love all fast cars some more than others but I love fast cars. It just kills me when someone can make fun of a car that cost unr 30k stock and does all that the Cobra does. I own a Z06 and I still love the Cobra.

The website i pulled 385 from was incorrect. Further research shows that the 390 hp figure is correct. However, U are correct in stating that the CTS-V weighs more. The CTS weighs in at 3850 lbs and the cobra weighs 3700 pounds. Weight does make a difference but in this instance not as much as u think. Power to weight ratio is key in drag racing. The CTS is 9.62 and the cobra is 9.61. 1/4 mile for CTS is 13.4@109mph. The cobra is 12.9@111mph. So basically The driver of this cobra SUCKS.

Uhhh...no, sorry, fail. The Teksid & Windsor aluminum blocks are NOT the same blocks as the 03/04 cobra's. They are no more alike than any other two blocks are. The 03/04's use the iron Romeo block, as they had issues with the aluminum one's in terms of wear. Sorry, buddy, but instructions for dealing with the two blocks are NOT in the slightest bit interchangeable. And neither are any manuals which deal with the 03/04 cobra vs one which deals with the 94-98 cobra's with their aluminum blocks.

thats why my bros 95 Z28 just had to have the rear end replaced, and also the starter, alternator, new gas lines and fuel pump with only 88,000 miles! thats sad and poorly built. they may be fast, but people dont see that once a GM gets some mileage, they break down too easily, one thing leads to another ur payin thousands just to get it fixed. like the new Z06, it is fast, but its uncomfortable and not comfortably a daily driver. actually no, he has had the car 7 years and hes only takin it to the drag strip once. he rarely ever gets into it and never takes the corners that fast. it just the bearings went out in his rear end and made an awful roaring sound for quite sometime, his L-piece to his intake fell apart, the fuel pump failed on him with only 55,000 miles on it and had to replace some fuel lines b/c they were leaking. my 73 mach 1 is 35 years old and is still in better shape than his car
