I pick up wild mice with bare hands all the time. Never been bit by one. But I mistook a mouse for a vole once... and mannn they are nasty little fuckers! He bit on to my finger and wouldn't let goo!!

@818getalife How old are you? Sorry, but this isn't the disney universe. There is a BIG difference between wild and domesticated mice. Wild mice carry deseases, will bite, and will die from stress if kept in captivity. They can fend for themselves in the wild. Thats why the population of sewer rats and field mice are so damn high. That mouse would not starve. They are very adapted at smelling out and finding food, and staying hidden from predators. They are not cute wuddly pets, they are WILD.

i live in the country, we used to get rats really bad then we got one cat and the rats diminished a little, then i rescued a cat and she had kittens and one i saved so i kept it and then no one wanted her brother...so now we have 4 cats and zero mice...it may be a cruel way to get rid of mice but they hunt them outside so i cant stop them from doing it...they go way out in the fields and catch them

I know my rat got out one time and didn't even budge when the cat nearly attacked it but when my cat ran after a wild rat the rat ran like it had a nitro boost in it's ass. o_O Both got away safely... xD

P.s. the any cooking oil will work!! It will unglue them from the sticky traps. Don't try pulling them off it will rip there body parts off. The oil will release them and they will escape safely. Check traps daily. So you don't have one die of stress, starvation. Good luck. They don't mean to be a pain. There just trying to survive like us!

I get the sticky mice catchers and put a treat on it. Then they get stuck. Then all you have to do is pour some oil all over the sticky trap and set them in a contained container and drive somewhere out in the country and set them free. They start coming in when it gets cold. I live by a field. And cought 18 one year. I fixed a huge cage up for them for the freezing winter time, and then when it was spring I set them free far out into the fields. I can't kill them or let them freeze .

last February i caught a little brown mouse in my yard and kept it, it doesnt hurt much when they bite.

I tend to use glue traps, since I'm not fond of killing them (mostly because dead rodents smell gross) You can catch and release them if you get mild stickyness traps, just wear gloves when removing them from the traps to prevent getting bitten. I live next to a pine forest, so we get them in our garage in the winter. They're drawn to our water heater, so it's not a matter of a dirty house or not.

For those of you saying clean the house FYI you don't have to have a dirty house to have mice problems. The bad part about it they carry diseases so you have to make sure you clean with anti bacterial cleaners. Another problem are mice are like rabbits the multiply like crazy. About 15 years ago we lived behind a restaurant we had a hard time getting rid of them (we were trying to humanly relocate a hard job!!!!) Good Luck

They have these awesome traps from hav-a-hart that won't hurt the little guys, you can catch and release them someplace else. I had a real tough mouse problem last winter. Just remember to drive them a few miles from your home before letting them free or they will come back in and make friends with you! Also make sure you don't let them free next to the restaurant down the street that has the door open....like I did by accident. *cough*

I tried to save a baby mouse once from my cat that he brought into the house. He escaped from the mouse house I made and proceeded to live under the sink. He ate the plastic tubing for the dishwasher and the ice maker which flooded the kitchen. I tried a humane trap which didnt work so two weeks later im standing in a hardware store bawling my eyes out because I had to resort to poison. The rat menace was gone in two days. Not only will they eat your cereal but your appliances!
