If people actually did care, they'd be pushing for more international reform to actually help out in the long run, instead of short term disaster relief (though yes, disaster relief does help). People are predisposed to caring a lot less about people outside of their group. Human beings evolved in small tribes, and there is no evolutionary basis for being all torn up about other tribes. In order to feel something about them, you have to imagine them as people you might know, or find some way that connects them to your group. For instance, when a motorcyclist dies, I feel worse about that than a skateboarder. Not my group/problem, don't care.

Great video. Lets be real, this earthquake is probably the best thing to happen to these people in a long time. Now they will get free food, medicine, and clothing. These are the same people who stood on the shores of their country for hundreds if not thousands of years and couldn't invent the sail mmmmkaay. We go over there every so often and fix their problems, their roads, their infrastructure only to have it in ruins after we leave.

I simply think that Africa is undergoing a period of economic & cultural stagnation at the moment. One could say the same about Europeans in the 1000 year economic & cultural gap b/w the fall of Roman civilization and The Renaissance. Also the fact that most African "nations" aren't real "nations" in the strictest sense of the word also hampers their development. I mean can you imagine if some foreign power had conquered European in, let's say, the 1890s and grouped French and German people...

I think that youre looking at this all wrong. I mean no doubt Haiti's a shithole. But to say that success and failure is decided mostly on the type of people that live in a place is just ridiculous. Its more defined by the culture that a society is built around. Let's face it Africa was a lot better off before the 1870s (culturally-speaking) than it is today. And in fact some parts of Africa are doing pretty well such as Nigeria, which is experiencing economic growth that rivals that of China's.

My kid (14 years old) was hauled in front of the school board because he refused to go door to door to collect money for the earthquake survivors. It was "compulsory" evidently. He just asked them why they were so keen to help people from another country when there were plenty of people in our own country who needed help? He suggested it was because they are black. Guess what? They called him a racist and threatened to kick him out of the school, so he laughed at them.

If people actually did care, they'd be pushing for more international reform to actually help out in the long run, instead of short term disaster relief (though yes, disaster relief does help). In order to feel something about them, you have to imagine them as people you might know, or find some way that connects them to your group. Great video. Lets be real, this earthquake is probably the best thing to happen to these people in a long time. Now they will get free food, medicine, and clothing. These are the same people who stood on the shores of their country for hundreds if not thousands of years and couldn't invent the sail mmmmkaay. The US government is going to send $100,000,000 to Haiti that's just going to be stolen by corrupt officials and used for all manner of nefarious ends. The original builder of Europe, The United States, and pretty much any civilization in history were of Nordic blood. It is more than a little obvious that the less Indo-European (and especially Nordic) the United States is, the faster the decline in all realms of society. We are allowing people in that are literally not even advanced enough to be called Barbarians, yet the so called liberals (aka cultural marxists) call this obvious degeneration "progress." Rome looked similar to the U.S. in its race mixing, perversion, and overall degeneracy on the verge of its collapse.

No. But unless you are a complete sociopath (which I doubt), you must confess some sympathy for these people if you allow yourself to think about it. I agree there is no point to hanging ribbons, and if someone is serious about helping they should get their butts over there and help with digging graves. Even Ayn Rand would have compassion for these people.

Kind of how Wall Street banker Jacob Schiff, a Jewish banker, gave Leon Trotsky (Bronstein), another Jew, 20 million dollars to run the "Russian" revolution which initially slaughtered around 20 million people. Around 50 million Europeans died in World War II, the majority being civilians and innocent. Yet the only number we know is 6 million, a number that has NEVER been proven, but on the contrary all the fundamental facts say otherwise (like the red cross numbers). Nonwhites don't give a shit about white deaths, but on the contrary enjoy seeing them and brag about our population decline. The world does not need the white man's sympathy, that is why the colored races no longer respect us.

It is absurd for people of European descent to care about nonwhite deaths. Most nonwhite people don't value their own peoples lives, so why should we? We are not helping them by coddling them and giving them aid. Europeans conquered the world through a long and brutal struggle of surviving/prospering in the harshest environments in the world. It is sad, the Europeans, especially the Germans, were able to keep invaders out for 1000s of years, yet we now give our lands away without a fight.

I use to say that when your best friend dies, the next day you'lle be hungry and you will eat with gusto. Most of the time it happens that very day.
About the thing of moving the swiss to haiti and the haitians to the Alps. Well, eventually it all comes down to the problem of guilt. I deem guilt's concept absurd, hence there's no guilt for being what you are. Hence I can't shun of feeling empathy for so many deads and bereaved. At least until the next meal.
