  • THE BEST STAND UP THERE EVER WAS.

  • genius..........

  • You can't help liking him -pure gold!

  • A very funny man .

  • I was walking across a single-span bridge when I saw a beautiful woman walking across the bridge towards me. I didn't know whether to block her passage or toss myself off."

  • The greatest English comedian of all time. Just listen to the women rolling about at his jokes. people forget he was banned off the radio and TV and yet he filled the theaters and was the highest paid perform of his day. A genious that walked the narrow path showing the vulgarity in your mind as he never said IT. Met him in Brighton in the late 50's when I was a small child.

  • If you are a fan of Max - check out the appreciation society called "There'll Never Be Another" or MMAS................... the man was a legend

  • I found out about him in a documentary about the Variety Shows the other day, he was certainly a character!

  • Where's me wash board?

  • One of Brighton's finest! There's a lovely statue of him in the Pavilion Gardens now; richly deserved.

  • One of the greatest comedians of all times. I used to live in his home town of Brighton, many years ago.

Max used to say.... "There'll never be another" and he was absolutely right; there never has been, and there never will be. He was unique.

  • He's got this audience in the palm of his hand and works them like putty. What a master of his craft Max was. Gonna send my mother in law a DVD of this, should finish the old trout off!

  • The One and Only. The PC Brigade would not find Max funny today. But,who cares what they think?

  • Quite right too ! I've just shown this to my mother in law, who's now having the vapours. Great stuff!

  • @TheWhitehall

Seeing as the BBC repeatedly banned him, doesn't look like they found him too funny then either! :)

  • @1jjswiss That`s correct. As years later, Benny Hill found out as well!

  • @TheWhitehall

What are you, a tory roboparrot?

  • @whnook I don`t believe so!

  • What a class act he was, would of loved to of been in that audience

  • Where's me washboard!?

  • I'm giving my +1 point to CACKFUCKINGCACK's username. LOL!

  • I think that was directed more to Arthur Askey.

  • It was a combination of both, Paul Whitehouse has said so in the past. The name and look was a nod to Arthur Askey and his actions and antics to Miller.

  • You are right.

  • i'm not drawn in I'm all muscle....LOL

  • I've seen you griddling eggs like there's no tomorrow!

  • The Arthur Atkinson sketch on the Fast Show is definitely a parody of max miller though

  • sorry im doing a project on british comedy and i was wondering if you knew when this clip was made? Also can anyone show me any links to other max miller stand up (without music).

  • Look out for Dave Sealey on tour as Max Miller. At Barking, Essex next Friday.

  • can you tell me what he says at 0:51? It sounds something like " a steel cap and a bull whip"..

  • "He's on the side, sitting in a armchair with a silk hat and whip".

  • A nice lady... A little bit, then some more, not so much and then perhaps

  • what does that mean?!

  • Max was a master of innuendo. What do you think he means?

  • @hydrafoil Sorry I must correct you, It's 'Bar Chair'.. you don't have an armchair in Theatre Boxes. only the dressing room, if your lucky.

  • Is he still there in the wings....? He's gone.
