Look, people, this young man isnt talking to you. He was communicating with a specific person. You don't have to take everything so literal. Clearly he wasnt speaking to a colonial Scot, or an enslaved Slav. And probably not to a Latino or Native American either.

Chances are he was talking to some privileged young white male hipster who took women's studies and philosophy or some other such bull in college and so thinks he's some amount of sympathy and solidarity with the fringes of society.
